b f SONG OF THE SOUTH, a declared starter in the above race, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on the morning of Wednesday, 31st August, 2022 and found to be suffering from right capped elbow. Under the circumstances the filly was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds. Tr. Rutherford Alford was advised not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

MOON ART (Vinay Jaiswal) veered outwards soon after the start.

SICILY ( (A Imran Khan) was difficult to load. NAZAAKAT (App P Tejeshwar) was fractious to be stalled.

An enquiry was opened immediately after the running of the race with particular reference to the fall of Jockey Chethan Gowda (EL PATRON) soon after the start. At the conclusion of the enquiry it was established that the fall was accidental in that b g EL PATRON stumbled soon after the start, the rider getting unbalanced and being dislodged from his mount. Therefore the “All Clear” signal was ordered to be hoisted. Jockey Chethan Gowda has been rushed to the hospital for further medical management.

Passing the 300 metres OSWALD (Nikhil Naidu) brushed against the running rails. The Veterinary Officer reported that :-
a)    EL PATRON returned with left thigh cut injury.
b)    SICILY returned with cut injury on left hind.
c)    WANDERING ANGEL was examined and found to be trotting sound.

Tr. C Alford was reprimanded for late arrival of his charge KUNAL’S BAGHEERA (Vinay Jaiswal) to the start thereby delaying the proceedings of the race. The trainer was further advised to ensure that his charges arrive on time in future.

HELLBLAZER (App P Tejeshwar) and ROUDY (Arul J H) were difficult to load.

Jockey Angad, the rider of IMMEASURABLE, reported that his mount   was inclined to lug in passing the distance post.

SONATA (P Trevor) had to be steadied rounding the final bend when ROUDY (Arul J H) shifted course to the outside.

The Veterinary Officer reported that ASHWAMEGH returned with bleeding cut injury on left hind.

Tr. Neil Darashah was reprimanded for late arrival of his charge SEA OF CORTEZ (Arul J H) to the start thereby delaying the proceedings of the race. Tr. Neil Darashah was further advised to ensure that his charges arrive on time in future.

SEA OF CORTEZ (Arul J H) was re-saddled at the start. BARACK (App S Saqlain) was fractious to be stalled. AGNOSTIC (P Trevor) was tightened for room soon after the start.

b g BARACK was examined by the Veterinary Officer on the morning of Thursday, 1st September, 2022 and found to be lame on left fore. Tr. B Mahesh was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

CAPE TANAROS (Nikhil Naidu) fly jumped out from the gates.

Jockey Nikhil Naidu, the rider of CAPE TANAROS, when questioned about his riding, stated that he was instructed to ride his own race. However, the colt jumped awkwardly from the gates and it was hanging out from about the 600 metres and thereafter he did his best to correct the colt’s drift in the straight and rode out his mount. On questioning Tr. Aashay Doctor corroborated the Jockey’s statements. However, he was of the opinion that the Jockey could have been a little more vigorous in his riding efforts from about the 700 metres.

Jockey Nikhil Naidu was informed that his riding effort from about the 800 metres was found to be wanting. However, he was being given the benefit of a grave doubt in this instance only because the Veterinary Officer reported “that following the race day, the colt was examined on the morning of 1st September, 2022 and found to be lame on left fore with cut injury in bulb of heel”. The Jockey was further informed that a close watch will be kept on his future riding. Tr. Aashay Doctor was also advised to ensure that his charges are run and ridden in such manner that leaves no room for query. The Trainer was further informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
