Desert God's Race

By Bluebubbletron | 05-Jan-2017
The God did Ran well but was outdone by his opponents and was lawnmowered by Golden. I think he should be given another Opportunity in Dubai.

Many people were of the opinion that DG was not on job and it was only a test drive. May be next outing we can see the real run.

Regards to all

He looked fat. Sat 3 of the fence whole way. Poor ride but horse in India ran 2400 mtrs but in Dubai should run max 1800 mtrs. He faded out lets see the next outing. Give him a chance.

Desert God was placed 3rd or 4th around 300 metrs. Afterwards could not match strides with other horses. May viewers are in doubt whether DG was oin job or just for a trial run. Many people lost place money. After 300 meters did not fight all just dropped 4th, 5th, 6th and finally 7th.

Jimmy Ji sahi Jawab.

Paddy has done to boost his company knowing fully well he has no chance.
It is just a marketing tactic.A small example.

Desert god was quoted at 15 to 1 on 4th jan and backed to become favourite at 16 to 10.
Was fractious when being stalled.more race to be ran and DG can only improve from here.

Desert God did not give us viewers any joy, however ample entertainment was provided by Dr Poonawalla who wore a Panama hat at night !!! !!!

How do you say the Horse ran well?? He finished 7th out of 111 horses in the race. I am sorrry, he is a great horse in India however in Dubai he will not perform.

Mr. Padmanabhan, the high flying trainer should understand that his style of training will not work abroad in very tough company. All his horses run up with the pace and take up the runnning at the bend or earlier. There it is very difficult to sustain this style of running. All his horses are trained and run in almost a similar fashion. They are not trained to produce a turn of foot coming form behind. In the Spotlight, Ice Glacier, dessert God, Torch Bearer all classic examples. In the Spotlight failed too in Dubai.

By his logic, Quasar conceding weight to Dessert God just lost, at level weights and with a better rider, Quasar would have beaten Dessert God. Alaindair recently conceding weight to dessert God just lost, at level weights he may have beaten Dessert God. By this theory even Quasar and Alaindair should go to Dubai, Why was Quasar retired at the age of 5?

So, Mr. Padmanabhan, its about time you threw aside your ego and stuck to your roots.

Regards,

Jimmy Karanjia

DG was travelling 3 horses wide throughout the race until the straight.

To add you have antiiclockwise run as well.

When running wide and anticlockwise the struggle to kp balance and Speed is stressfull.

Its like Operating from the left side,it is stressfull and exhausting.

DG was affected by this and just could accelarate when asked to in the straight.

Allan could have done a better job by keeping him along the rails.

Never the less he did not discredit himself.

Desert God's run in Dubai was no disappointment because there was nothing much expected of this horse. You may be a billionaire in India, but in Dubai you may be made to look a pauper. This is what precisely Desert God has proved. I had earlier said in this column that he ran with a mediocre opposition throughout his career in India, with 'Alandair' being the only credible opponent. Let's not expect our horses to perform a miracle when they travel abroad anymore. Trainer Paddy can have his field day anytime here, but outside India he will be a 'barren' land. Right?
