Lets Talk About The Ramniwas Ramnarain Ruia Gold Cup

The Ramniwas Ramnarain Ruia Gold Cup (Gr.2) has always been considered to be a jinx before the derby.
this year we have a small field of runners out of which...

SERJEANT AT ARMS is the highest rated @ 100, with 6 wins out of 7 runs

HIGHLAND BREEZE rated @ 76. 3 wins out of 10 runs

ST ANDREWS rated @ 74. 1 wins out of 3 runs

while the best of the best takes some rest.

one look at the card and it seems like a one horse race but there is always the element oof surprise in horseracing.

why have so many owners decided to sit this one out?

Walk over the other 2 don't stay more than a mile they a bred for speed so looked more impressive as he beat crap.

Some of the greats to acheive the feat of winning the ruia with the derby were

BRIGHT HANOVAR, COMMANCH, SQUANDERE , MANITO , ROYAL TER , ALMANAC, CHAITANYA CHAKRAM, SMART CHIEFTAN, INDICTMENT, and STAR SUPREME

Ive seen the last three horses win & for me Indictments feat [triple crown ] was the best to witness live -as that horse was a Gladiator ....

The difference between Goldie Brown colours and the rest is that they wouldn't have sent out the Derby Contender in the RUIA without a stablemate who would ensure an honest pace.

Wont be surprised to see SAA now making the pace for the race and being eased up towards the finish.

@ MLK,last year BE SAFE won this event and subsequently went on to win the indian derby!!

I have heard that horse who wins RR Ruia Gold Cup does not win Derby. Can any knowledgeable persons confirm it.

There will be no surprise. See the number of horses which have ran away.

So will this horse at odds around. .30/100.
Some times luck plays a big part. Not bought by any one sent to CAL first than to BNG. stuck with breeders has paid back money beyond their imagination
