Don't neglect Mrs Patmore for Indian derby, intact with every run its showing maturity, and had a experience of Derby distance as well. So my pick will be one among Mrs Patmore and SAA depends on odds certainly.

SALAAZAR is the one who will fill the frame for sure and has a small chance to Upset if SAA comes across any strategic interference.

Last run SAA win without whiping and won very easily,HOF winning a derby by 8.5 lengths is not a joke, moreover it is tracking very well for 1400 mtrs better than SAA.So my pick is HOF followed by Mathias no body knows the orginal potential of this horse bye.

There will be no hard luck stories this time.
SAA will win ...

Hunter you beat every race book hollow.I do not think anything is left after this write up.

How ever what is foxing is the absence of work outs of these top horses.

Technically Pessi. should bag this event. Malesh is missing clearly his ward Frivolous is not ready.

It will be temerity most improved horse only to beat Germanius --compare timing.

This Indian Derby is meant for SHROFF:) :) GOOD LUCK FRIENDS

Hall of Fame will not win the Indian Derby. His win in Calcutta was just a joke. Accolade is not a stayer and Silver Beauty also lacks class. Hence David Allan was able to lift the derby .Look at the video and you will find that the horse was pushed to accelerate nearing the 600 meters .It was being niggled. Winning by 8 lengths against donkeys (calcutta horses)is not an achievement .
My clear choice is Serjeant At Arms and Mrs Patmore.
A Sandesh has a very good chance to lift the Mumbai Derby this year. All the very best to him .....

There are 21 horses left in at the Handicap stage for Indian Derby to be run on Sunday, 5 February, at Mahalaxmi....

Ice Glacier, Tororosso, Silver Beauty and Devoted Eyes are not running. Of those left in, the following seven can be said to have some chance of winning....

Serjeant At Arms, Hall Of Famer, Temerity, Germanicus, Mathaiyus, Salazaar and Mrs Patmore.

Let's try and eliminate the wheat from the chaff....

Germanicus was soundly thrashed in Mumbai in 2000G and it is doubtful if he would have improved so much as to beat SAA.

The horses who finished behind Salazaar in the Chennai Derby - Magistero and Namid - have done badly in the subsequent Derbies they ran in and haven't franked the form of Salazaar.

Mrs Patmore was well-beaten by Temerity in the Oaks on this track recently and it is difficult to see Mrs P reversing that form.

So, I believe we can safely eliminate Germanicus, Salazaar and Mrs P.

That leaves four, viz., SAA, HOF, Temerity and Mathaiyus. To many, the race looks to be a duel between SAA & HOF, and the two would rightly carry the public's money. SAA is a strong horse with fluent action and has tremendous turn of foot. HOF left the field standing in the Calcutta Derby and on that showing, she will be strongly fancied to down the colours of SAA. However, the other two are capable of improving and delivering a knock-out punch to the leading duo on the all-important Sunday....

Mathaiyus's potential is largely hidden. The way he carried over-weight and won speaks a lot about this horse, so one cannot ignore him.

Temerity heralded her return to form with a bang while winning the Oaks and would have improved further.

So, the winner should emerge from this foursome - SAA, HOF, Temerity and Mathaiyus. Let's wait for Acceptances and jockey-choices before making the final choice.
