RACE #1

A few above par than the rest and they include Shivalik Boy, Reverberating, Flying Prince, El Campeador and Galeno. For the first time in his career SB showed some spark from the gates and given his draw 2 he will find himself in the box seat on straightening for home and with Srinath astride - indomitable. The rest though working well all have some reason to give for an indifferent race result (Reverberating and Galeno - Layoff; Flying Prince - jockey selection ??? EC - draw 11. If I have to stick my neck out for this one I would say EC over SB in the last 50 meters for a short verdict.


RACE #2

Erstklassig, Beyond Reach & Matchpoint. Its too close to call but I prefer Erstklassig on the basis of his style of running.


RACE #4

SECRET DIMENSION each way. In my opinion this 6 year old gelding is in the best form of his life. If Imran can sit off the pace and come into his own in the last 300 meters, it would be a favourable result. Mind you, 6 F's is not SD's optimum trip so only a high price will be value for money.

4 SPLENDID BRAVE, 6 SHIVALIK BOY, 10 FLYING PRINCE

Jockey SURYA P, sitting on 9 winners requires 1 more win to get his whip, and ask any jockey how eager they are when they are on 9th to get there 10th win. So I think he will give his heart and soul sitting on 4 SPLENDID BRAVE.

Otherwise it will be default contender 6 SHIVALIK BOY ridden by the willy pro Y S SRINATH. Remember the connection between both the horses, they are from the same stable :).

10 FLYING PRINCE ridden by the out from the coffin jockey HANUMANT SINGH should give SAMAR SINGH his only place of the day.

2) The Octogonal Plate 1600 M
Class 4 / Horses Rated 15 to 35

5 BEYOND REACH, 6 MATCHPOINT, 1 ERSTKLASSIG

Nothing much to chose from 5 BEYOND REACH & 6 MATCHPOINT both nicely placed in handicapping and both being saddled by back to form jockeys.

5 BEYOND REACH is from the would be champion trainer PRASANNA KUMAR and to be piloted by P TREVOR who is in the form of his life.

It’s my strong belief BEYOND REACH the half brother of SERJEANT AT ARMS should win it from MATCHPOINT & top weighted ERSTKLASSIG.

3) The February Plate 1100 M
Maiden Horses 3 years old only

11 MALAWI, 10 DESERT FALCON, 3 DONT DILLY DALLY, 5 GOOD EARTH

A race that people should avoid betting. My selections are based on previous run, trackwork and pedigree.

But I can guarantee you 11 MALAWI sister of BOOKER JONES can create a flutter. 10 DESERT FALCON place is safe as a house.

4) The Manasa Sarovara Trophy Div-1 1200 M
Class 2 / Horses Rated 45 to 65

1 NOBLE FLAIRE, 8 AMAZING REDD, 2 TOP STRIKER

Again it’s PRASANNA KUMAR making his championship run beyond reach of others. NOBLE FLAIRE should win from AMAZING REDD other two contenders are TOP STRIKER & RICH REVIVAL (if jockey SURYA P couldn’t win the first race).

5) The Stayers Trial Stakes 2400 M
Term Races / 4 years old and over

7 CAMERON, 4 LET THE LION ROAR, 2 BOOKER JONES

3 entries by S S ATTAOLLAHI, 1 ARROGANT APPROACH, 2 BOOKER JONES & 7 CAMERON but from three different owners. Another race that punters should avoid gambling heavily.

The horse that appeals to me most in this distance is CAMERON to be ridden by the retained jockey P TREVOR of the big banner owner Dr. & Mrs.Vijay Mallya Rep. United Racing And Bloodstock Breeders Ltd.
FARAZ ARSHAD’s LET THE LION ROAR to be ridden by SURAJ NARREDU is blooming late and was an impressive mock race winner on 27/01/2017 defeating BOOKER JONES by 2 1/2 length. It should give CAMERON a gamely fight.

BOOKER JONES should place with British saddle artist DAVID ALLAN astride.

6) The Suresh Kumar Sharma Memorial Plate 1200 M
Class 3 / Horses Rated 30 to 50

2 SAGA, 6 FJORD, 7 SIYOUNI, 4 ROYAL SERENITY

An open looking race where potentially horse number 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 & 12 anyone can win. It will be a jackpot breaking race.

There are some strange pointers in this race. S NARREDU has got 3 entries but he has avoided his son SURAJ NARREDU, is there some other surprise in store.

RAJESH NARREDU trainer of 4 ROYAL SERENITY has too not used SURAJ NARREDU despite SURAJ winning on this filly in it’s last start.

6 FJORD is bookies favourite but here too Mr Pallon Shapoor Mistry Rep. Manjri Horse Breeds Farm P.Ltd has not used SURAJ NARREDU, instead they have brought in there other retained jockey K G STEYN.

2 SAGA is back from long rest and ARJUN MANGALORKAR having his pet jockey S JOHN saddling on it will fight every inch of the ground.

My conclusion is SAGA should win it from FJORD, ROYAL SERENITY & the S NARREDU trio. Or who knows some other surprise may spring up.

7) The Dharmasthala Plate 1400 M
Class 4 / Horses Rated 15 to 35, 6 years old and over

10 HIDDEN DEAL, 5 LITTLE LOVE, 4 WILD WILD ANGELS

10 HIDDEN DEAL was ridden very poorly by SURAJ NARREDU in its last start and it was crampped for room in the last part of the race, now jockey switched to IMRAN CHISTY should run a bold race.

Otherwise SURAJ NARREDU will win it for his father astride 5 LITTLE LOVE.

Don’t discount 4 WILD WILD ANGELS with the new star P P DHEBE saddling it, will fight every inch of the ground.

8) The Manasa Sarovara Trophy Div-2 1200 M
Class 2 / Horses Rated 45 to 65

11 REFERENCE, 8 PRAZSKY, 3 HAVELOCK PRINCESS

Look no further than R R BYRAMJI’s ward 11 REFERENCE to be saddled by SURAJ NARREDU.

Consistent 8 PRAZSKY from the yards of S INAYATHULLA to be ridden by decent rookie CHETHAN GOWDA should give a close fight.

3 HAVELOCK PRINCESS should place.

What will be the fate of following two horses today - both trained by PRASANNA KUMAR? Both are unique today because the trainer broken the successful horse-jockey partnership on both occasions.

4-1 NOBLE FLAIRE (P.Trevor)
Won twice this season with S.John, now trying for a hat-trick, suddenly the trainer replaced S.John with P.Trevor. NF is running as favourite and it is to be discussed why the trainer broken a successful horse-jockey partnership?

My views:
4th race is the First Leg of the Jackpot Pool and in my opinion this race is wide open. Hence NOBLE FLAIRE as a favourite (Night Odds 16/10) is an OUTSTANDING LAY BET. NF wont win.

5-4 JERSEY WONDER (S.John)
Here also same above story. Twice won with Trevor up, now the mount given to S.John. What is the reason, the trainer has done it twice today? Is he trying a double with different rider?

My views: JW is commanding good Night Odds (5/1). Although the distance is too long to his comfort, it may grab a place.
