S.JOHN (Jockey)

S.John is such a capable jockey who can surprise you with a sequence of wins any day at any center. However it is surprising he does not get any serious mounts at his parent center (BTC) these days. More surprising is his repeated failures at RWITC races whenever he gets a chance to ride over there. Any jockey tasted blood and success cannot sustain without wins, may be that reason, he is regularly accepting so many mounts at RCTC. In terms of success, S.John has 8 wins so far in Kolkata out of 27 rides (apprx. 30% success rate) is second only to Trevor 14 wins out of 43 rides (apprx. 30%). Whereas Leading jockeys Dashrath Singh 17 wins out of 85 mounts (20%), Alford 14 wins out of 60 mounts (23%), and Neeraj Rawal 12 wins out of 54 rides (21%) have lesser success rates. It is a question mark on him why he is fairing well at an alien center but lagging behind Suraj Narredu, YS SRinath, and P.Trevor at his parent center?.
Today he has accepted 5 mounts, same as of C.Alford, Vinay Jaiswal, B.Mahesh and app. Ranidan Singh. Only Sandeep Rajput has accepted maximum rides-6. Since Trevor skipped the center today, there is every reason for S.John to better his average today.
Better follow his horses today:
1-8 Aquaticaa (Place prospect)
3-3 The Stradle (one horse race)
5-7 Nashvilletennessee (Place certainty, can upset)
6-3 Half Volley (Can upset. Better than German Guide. Tangaloomaa and Tibidabo are dangers)
7-2 Romantic Magic (should win from Torino)

Jockey John' problem is his weight and by his own admission he is just not able to keep it steady at good weights! He is 57kgs and at that body weight , it is tough to get mounts. If a jockey can get mounts with a declared weight of above 57 kgs, he narrows down options. Otherwise an excellent jockey.

I don't follow Kolkata races,since the topic excited me,here are my views about the races....
1st race:Aquaticaa can place,wins looks very much doubtful.Sicario should run well according to me the horse to beat.
5th race:Bacaardi could have annexed this race easily had the trainer opted for an apprentice,but knowing well b.mahesh rides well in top-weighted mounts I feel Bacaardi might repeat.
6th race:half volley is the best of his mounts today,words can place at long odds.
7th race:romantic magic,torino and santero are closely matched.

You are brave enough to express your comments. Here people will make comments only after the races. They are afraid of making a free opinion, at the same time they are interested in downsizing the writers at any small opportunity. So many good writers migrated to other website, despite the fact that, Indiarace is the No.1 website in India, however, nowadays HT has lost the punch, I doubt.
Now coming back to the topic:
Present winning percentage of S.JOhn is 29.6 (rounded up to 30%)
Trevor Patel is at 32.6 (rounded up to 33%)
If John wins 2 today, his winning percentage will be 31.3% still it would be below Trevor's. If John has to overtake Trevor, he has to win 3 today? In that case his win percentage will be 34.3 @. You, me all are keeping a positive attitude and pray for him! After all we are not asking for the moon !!

John's main problem is his wt!That limits lots of mounts for him.55.5 kgs [that too after a sona bath]. Arjun mounts are badly effecting,his average.
Max I thought horses won more than Jockeys,See Suraj poor chap not getting mounts in MUM failed in Hyd .Bng only one odd win to show.
Sandesh met the same fate in MUM.
These jockeys are put on false favs,So I follow horses mroe than them

John has been getting good rides from other stables but unfortunately there are horses from Arjun stables which are running so hence he has no options but to ride them. But when he has ridden for other stables he has won most of the races.he hardly gets rides to n Rwitc.mekong delta runs third in guineas St. Andrew runs third in 2000 guineas. Congressional run second.
One more horse of todywalla runs second .overall five rides 2 seconds and 2 thirds.he has been doing well in Kolkatta. Will not be surprised if he wins 4 races today
