Happy to hear that,and hopefully let us hope things have really changed for the better--and it is not a flash in the pan. And all centres need to do the same,if not better.A doubt still remains, but keeping fingers crossed.

SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE !!!

What happened to RWITC today? They have woken up all of a sudden.

It looks like the Chairman and Committee members read our repeated protests under 'PADDOCK CARNIVAL AT RWITC' and given appropriate directives to the concerned parties involved in live streaming. May be that is the reason today they are showing only horse blood left right front and back - throughout the day-night racing. I have watched the races till 5th race, and noticed the positive development taking place at RWITC. As suggested in my comments in the morning, they are showing the trophy distribution in PIP mode while horses are parading in the paddock in full swing. Don’t know whether they will stick to this format till the end of the season or just a one-day-match to satisfy us - the rebels. I earnestly hope other race clubs, who followed RWITC folly till yesterday, should watch today's live streaming of RWITC, and make amends at the earliest.

The response and view points of all the contributors on this topic has been very illuminating,and if it is implemented in letter and spirit by all the concerned authorities,it would be ideal.The issue here is ,how to convey this to the authorities concerned and make them wake up.
My suggestion :
Let some one draft an open letter,addressed to all the chairmen of all the racing centres;incorporating the various points as detailed by all the contributors here and any other additional views of other contributors,if any.
The draft of this letter can be uploaded and finalized on this thread. Indiarace can then be approached to upload this OPEN letter officially on our behalf. Indiarace standing among'st the various authorities,being what it is,they will take serious notice of such a letter.An official note by Indiarace on this aspect may also help.
Your suggestions and opinion are welcome.

Racegoers contend that the live streaming is not as per their wish and expectation. But it is BEST with the stewards, chairman and committee members because they get different feed with uninterrupted view. Presently whatever the club showing on cctv is just for humiliating the punters. I wonder why the members not taking any objection. Why the Live Streaming subscribers not taking objection. Ridiculous.

Only solution to this is one interrupted channel for the racegoers all over the world, wherein only horses movements to be shown as soon as they arrive in the paddock, their movement to starting stalls, loading, and lastly the real race run. In between, the Club can show preview of previous race, body weight of horses, prize distribution ceremony, sponsors ads, other festival activities in PIP (Picture In Picture) mode. But the problem is, who will persuade the people ruling this Andher Nagari. When these greedy people need punters money at any cost, do you think they will CONCEDE an INCH...? I dont think.

The clubs are losing their plot. People who visit races not for a cover band of Beatles or CCR.They go for proper adrenalin rush. It is all about horse racing and the hoof beats. The clubs waste their money on all other activities but fail to provide the basic needs of a daily race goer. Shame after so many years one has not yet learnered from past mistakes. Incidentally races are made up by Trainers and Owners and not by bookies and jockey's. They are just a part of the cog. The investigation team to should keep a close watch on the trainers and owners if they are interacting with these camera operators on regular basis. Four Anna's and 12 Anna's is a term coined by trainers and owners. Any old timer will inform you what this term means.

I have used the term 'camera man' loosely to denote everyone who is involved in the paddock parade telecast, superimpositions of weights on screens etc.
First of all, the cameras are not placed properly. At least one camera should be placed in a way where it records the horse from close proximity and in proper light - not in shadows as these crooks generally do.
The camera should dwell on each horse for at least 7-1o seconds when it is in the paddock.
While the horse is being beamed on the monitors, info regarding its weight difference and actual weight carried should be displayed in a band at the bottom.
If possible, and if the so called control room understands it is useful to punters, the so called control room should also show the trainer instructing the jockey. As punters we also want to glean from their body language if they are on job.
The so called control room should ensure each horse is given its 7-10 seconds time in the paddock. They can tick mark the race book to ensure a horse has been covered. It is not rocket science.
After the horses leave the paddock, the so called control room should show each animal a second time on way to the track or when they do the brief track parade.
What I have written above is no big deal and even a person with below average intelligence can do, provided the intentions are there.
Clearly, there are no intentions in the so called control room and the less said about the chairman, the better. He probably thinks everyone in the club premises who is not a member, So what can you expect from him?

Very valid points raised by you.Your initial post and the clarification in the subsequent one gives us a picture of what is really happening behind the scenes.The poor punter is being taken for one big royal ride,and he is being denied a service,that by right,in more ways than one, he is entitled to .
It is a systematic ,well planned,and beautifully executed,denial of rights for the race goers at large at all centres.
It is high time this issue is raised and brought to the notice of the concerned authorities,in a way that will draw their attention. Indiarace by providing this forum free for race goers,allows atleast some kind of interaction between us.As such,forum members should suggest ways to address this critical issue.We may or may not succeed,but let us not remain silent and suffer the injustice we are subjected to.

The persons employed in the Control Room perhaps take instructions from the operators, and not from the club officials. It's time the officials show some spine and take on the mafia..

Rwitc is in a downward trend.Stewards are only looking for people to sponsor races so that the club saves money. Last week one of the sponsor had brought his entire family to lead in a winner which was not even owned by him. Nowhere in the world it's allowed except RWITC. Stewards should give more importance to racing rather than pleasing the sponsors in doing these acts. Next time other sponsors will request for favours like this will they allow ?

There are several video cameras installed at different places, and each video camera is operated by different cameraman. So you cannot label all the cameramen are thick headed. It is the duty of the man/men who is/are managing CCTV control room from where the live streaming is. It is in their hands what to transcoder features to overlay static and dynamic images on top of video by using a Java based API, to be configured manually or pre-programmed based on external events, for adding, ads, titling, watermarking, clubs log or symbols, tickers etc. to get tv like experiences. In the control room they need a Streaming Engine software or a Streaming Cloud service, then the video stream to server/service, they change the stream's format into others on the fly to match viewers' device type for universal compatibility with set-top boxes, game consoles, smartphones, tablets, and desktop and laptop computers.

The Control Room people decide what to show the racegoers, whether horses, paddock, prize distribution, dance and ballet or sponsors ads, Red Cone or Nehru Planetorium? So instead of blaming the cameraman or cameramen, blame the men who are the helm of affairs of the race clubs they influence the people controlling the live streaming. In my opinion, this is under strict instruction from the Chairman of the Club. In fact they are hiding the horses from the eyes of the racing public. They want the racegoers play wrong horses and lose their hard earned money. Definitely we have to blame the Chairman and his committee members for such an atrocious decision.

The basic problem:

The camera man is too thick headed to understand the concept of paddock parade.

The chairman is too thick skinned to be bothered about anything else other than posing for the prize giving ceremonies.

Racing is on a back burner in MUM.Please see the nuymber of punters in class one.
So all the tamasha is for members and their guests.It is very important to keep showing them as we I ndians love our selves on TV.
What did Kanagana ranuat achieve for racing ? How many lakhs were paid to her [she is quite expensive for such things].

This is a serious issue has already taken up by several people in this Forum and raised their objections. In spite of reviewing the situation, not only RWITC, other race clubs in India are also following RWITC. I have a serious doubt, Chairmen of all race clubs have given STRICT instructions to the cameramen NOT TO SHOW PADDOCK PARADE AND HORSES SUBSEQUENT MOVEMENT TO STARTING STALLS PROPERLY TO THE VIEWERS.

There are several cameras installed at various places and they are recording the racing activities from various angles. These recordings are monitored by the stewards to review the race when there are objections, accidents, or enquiries. Live streaming is done thru multi-channels, and stewards have at their disposal the best channel providing all live actions. Have you heard they ever review the prize distribution ceremony or selling vegetables, or Orchestra? Stewards are only interested in movement of horses from paddock parade, going out of the paddock to Grand Stand, Grand stand parade of horses , thereafter the horses movement (walk/canter/gallop whatsoever) towards starting stalls, Horses starting stall parade, Loading etc. All these things are hiding from the racegoers deliberately. And I think stewards get all these activities recorded by various cameras, in a separate channel uninterruptedly. We racegoers were also getting these recordings several years back thru CCTV.

Now what they are reserved for the racegoers is just laughable. When the horses are parading in grand stand, they will show the horses body weight. When the horses are going to the starting stalls, they will show the Odds Board, or Review of previous runs - last 200 or 300m runs. If not above possible, they show selected DUD HORSES (50/1 horses) and constantly camera follow same horses till the starting stalls. I dont understand what these people are showing on the live streaming? There was a news sometime past LIVE STREAMING FEED has been sold to a foreign TV for a premium. If so, do you think foreign media/channels will accept what we are seeing today on live streaming? No... it means there is another live streaming channel active full of activities of horses available for foreign media and also for the stewards. If so why these guys are the Indian public with a separate live streaming ? Is it not deliberate what it is?
