Jockey Arshad Alam

By Venkat | 03-Mar-2017
Some time ago, he was retained by Manjri Stud for Mysuru. Could'nt have taken long to understand him . Hyderabad ' last day just confirmed it. He had 10 mounts and won one!! And that too in Race #3. The only way he could have lost is by falling

Leaving aside his other mounts I'll highlight a few. Unbelievable.

Race #8. This was a sitter---- watch the video clips again- 3 checks and looks as if he had engineered it himself;
Race #9. He had a small chance but made no effort;
Race #10. On Vijay Mallaya's horse. A horse backed down in a jiffy - with such huge betting!!!! Drawn #2, he takes a fly jump and then he travels all over and round the bend 5 horses deep. And has the temerity to finish 4th!!!!!
Race #11. He rode like a raw apprentice!

Congratulations Arshad Alam. 1/10. There will always be a retribution day (s).

I have been racing for 4 decades or so - but this is the 1st time I've witnessed such muck.Thus the learning curve never stops.
Cheers

Comparing Arshad with Jockeys like Trevor Patel Sandesh & Alford is the most ridiculous and odious thing I've heard in years.

Had Trevor sat on Mallaya's horse he would have comfortably.

AA has bad times ahead. His Karma is atrocious.

WE HAD commented on this race day BASICALLY MEANT FOR BOOKIES to enjoy their vacation..A meaningless day with nothing for any one but them.
Let us not blame Jockeys ABC in any center.it is the connections who decide.That is what happened in HYD

Gentlemen,

You all are talking of Arshad Alam and Akshay Kumar's riding.

Pl. for God's sake also be frank and talk of A Sandesh, P Trevor, S John,
C Alford and many more senior jockeys., when they are also riding in a similar way, since time im-memorabl months.
Why exclude them. Then also talk of the owner connections who ask these jockeys to do such wrong acts.

Today, the most dreaded jockey is being given top mounts by the champion and other top trainers. WHY ?????

All are involved in this loot, so do not spare top jockeys and point fingers at average jockeys.

Am not supporting the wrong doings by any jockey, nor connections, but only pointing out what's happening in today's racing at all centres.

On Monday a lot of outstation jockey's were seen like Trevor, Imran and Suraj, also Bezan Louis. They knew 12 races were there on Thursday but it looked like the trainers, owner's and authorities had some understanding that they will not be asked to ride on Thursday. Good. Then why on earth was Arshad Alam asked to come. Surely his mounts could have been given to some other local rider.

I think the authorities should first come up with a rule that no jockey should ride more than 50% of the race card. For example if their are 7 or 8 races only 4 mounts allowed. Or if there is 9 or 10 races 5 mounts. HRC many times easily frame a 9 race card and one see's thelikes of Trevor or Suraj riding over 6 to 7 rides a day.

Now let's see how a jockey has to perform his duty. As Mr.Iyer says Akshay Kumar had 11 mounts. If one looks at his rides there were not for one trainer or owner. So if the races started at 12 noon he had to be wearing colours of the first race owner. It takes 10 minutes for a race to be completed horses reach the stand. Jockey rushes to change for next race and has to be seen in paddock within 5 minutes. Can any jockey do justice like this for 10 consecutive races.

@Iyer

Akshay kumar placed 8 times out of 11 rides that he had accepted.. And none of them were favourites.. All of them were in higher odds.. I for one find 8 places in 11 races minf boggling.. Anf you still criticize.. Give credit where its due if you cant, atleast don't criticize for nothing..

What about Jockey AKSHAY KUMAR , who was crowned the champion Jockey a day before and yesterday he had 11 Mounts and no winner.
