Racing May Help Me Visit Europe

By Chanakya | 08-Mar-2017

The journey has just begun.

I don’t want to finance my trip to Europe by my hard earned money and therefore , decided to finance it by my winnings from races like I did it last year for my USA trip in June/ July. Roughly Rs. one million are needed for the trip and my efforts during Invitation day, have given me a good chance to realise my aim.

My normal betting to start with has been Rs. 1000+ tax- going up to 5000 in some cases. More than that I bet only from my winnings and not from my pocket. I bet to win, sometimes bet on place if the win odds are more than 4/1 or more, but no SHP. I normally use two systems – straight betting on selected races of the day; or sometime, progressive betting on one or two races in a day which spills over a period which is very risky and though my ‘real’ loss is only Rs. 1000 but some time all my winnings have been lost. As I can not make a million by ‘straight betting’ in a short time the risk is worth it.

Therefore, from Invitation day, I took this risk.

On Invitation day, I posted 4 selections on this site, through my mobile because I was in Bangalore and did not have access to a computer. They were - Bold March win, in race no 4, Shivalik Shower-place in race no 6 and Tororosso and Temerity(both)- win, in Invitation cup.

Bold March gave me Rs. 8,300 for initial investment of Rs. 1000. In race no 6 Shivalik Shower opened at Rs. 333 for win and 61 for place and tempted me to skip the race and go straight to Invitation cup but the pre race odds of3/1 on Tororosso and 5/1 on Temerity would give me only Rs. 25,000 maximum I decided to take the plunge on S.Shower and luckily it came 3rd. and I received Rs. 33,200. Dividing this money in equal part, I placed Rs 16,600 on both – Tororosso and Temerity.
Temerity paid Rs. 79 for a tenner and made me richer by Rs. 1,31,140...

You want further discussion to be ceased. It seems to be a fair request, and I believe even Raghavan Sir will accede, provided Chanakya Sir comes clean, or admits openly that either most of what he said was a lie, or it was a hoax - both were obviously in very bad taste, and unbecoming of a 80-something individual.

I am nearing 80 years and betting in horse races since 1969. I am so sorry
you have been facing brick bats from some quarters. I sincerely and with my hand on my heart believe you, because it is possible for a person like you to make that kind of money. Why would you lie? You are not getting any prize for that. Without going into detailed calculation, without any tax with a bookie at even money one can make a million with Rs 1000/-rolled over on 10 winners. I do not want to go into the details as I have seen with my own eyes people making money like that. With all the best wishes to you and with request to all members of this site to cease further criticism

Chanakya,

Only ramiyer who has supported your claim, whether he has seen your betting slips or you encashing the amounts you claim on the invitation day are subject to conjecture. When you can boast of winning so much on this site, I am sure you would have proudly show them to anyone who cared to see including ramiyer and group that day itself. I would be happy if ramiyer can come forward and say here if he did indeed see the winning tickets to the amount you claim.

Its Flirting eyes and not flirting vision, where did silver icon suddenly come into the picture now? Below is your statement on your own thread..

Will anyone bet the whole amount of 8300 on a 3-1 place horse, Imean will he not keep away the 300 atleast and play a round figure, its not a roll bet where everything gets rolled over automatically, further you happened to roll the entire 33,200 equally onto temerity and toro, did not even leave out the 200! such confidence is rarely seen inside the racecourse. There is no mention of the bets on the previous day, you were there I guess.
your selections on invitation day say this,

Good march each way. Tororosso and Temerity. Shivalik shower place." where is good(bold) march place? you have not mentioned the bet amount or your intention to roll, never mind its your decision.

After that there were 2 race days at mumbai and your selections are as follows

B.T.Rules- win 30,000.
Mekong Delta & Eternal Sunshine -win 20,000 each.
Drogo -win- 20,000

Paramour -win
Glorious Eyes - win
Cameron - win

6th race favorite will lose. winner may come from 7,8,2,1.

chanakya said ... On : 3/16/2017 4:10:06 PM

race1. Dancing Lord -each way.
race no 4 Shalom -win.
race no5, Alisha Pet- each way.
race no. 8 Hunting Pleasure-win. A Maximus -place.

We all know what happened, so good one day and then not even a single win, 3 place bets paying 12, 12, & 16 on the 16th, you can go ahead and say that it was genuine and competetive racing on invitation day and no merit racing on other days/centers. Then why did you invest such huge sums on those days only to come a cropper.

Win or lose its your money, don't make a fool of yourself at this age by posting ridiculous stuff.

chanakya said ... On : 3/13/2017 1:26:33 PM

@svp,
I don’t have to spell out every detail before the race .Somewhere, I said my ‘tenner’ will be on Tororosso. Do you think, after spending on air fare and several thousand for staying at hotel Bangalore International (Tom Krish was also there), I will put a tenner on my choice – Tororosso? After two straight wins- on Flirting Vision(Rs. 84) and Silver Icon(Rs. 47), I got emboldened and took the risk, which paid off...
Progressive betting I use sometime – not every time. Sometimes it works and sometime it fails. Last time i used it in 2015 and it financed my US trip of 45 days in June-July 2016...
P.S The room rate of Bangalore International is not several grand its only about 1770 if you book today.

@Chanakya,

"I am not willing to spoonfeed anyone"!

It is up to you Chanakya jee. You take it as my request. OR you take it as my demand. I continue to pretend that in arithmetic, I am worse than a middle school drop out.

When you have no hesitations to address me with uncalled for adjectives, I only expected that you will be fair & reasonable to answer one pointed question.

I do not post any choices. Nor do I post any claims of profit after the races.

On the other hand, you had your share of glory; your share of pain. Your 1.30 lakh profit was reduced to 35k in very next race meeting. I agree that I never had that much of a high plus. It is not that I never had opportunity to win that big. I never had that much courage like an Air force officer..

So I end up making 4k to 5k, when there was clear cut opportunity to win 50k. And, you may ask me why? For the first time, I am happy to say that the question has been already answered by Mr Champ; how he made only 4k though he had sufficient money to bet & earn lakhs.

Why I am insisting on detailed calculation from you? To see to what extent you can bluff.

A roll of 12 horses with a start bet of 1000?

I know that a successful roll bet on 12 horses with start bet of 1000 would make any punter richer by lakhs. But in racing, such theories will never translates to reality. You might have given the lay bets well in advance. But, it is not humanly possible to roll your winnings on all 2 horses. OK. You are an ex Air force personnel. Have boldly faced much difficult situations than we Civilans. And the boldness developed there helped you to bet fearlessly on your 'eat' fancies. Even then, it is not practically possible. Because, no book maker will accept that much risk. Even granting, for argument sake, say there was a good-for-nothing fool bookie. Who has taken all bets from you without hesitation. EVEN THEN 1000 START EAT BET WILL NOT BE CONVERTED TO 10 LAKH PLUS. Keep reserve such fancy stories to your grand children. Not even a fresher among the punters will believe that.

That is the reason I am insisting you to give horsewise calculations. I am sick of hearing from you repeatedly about your America trip being financed by the dozen lay bets. Your travelling to America is not a proof of your earning in races. I own a house. That does not mean that I financed construction from my race winnings.

When I said I am poor at maths, I mean that. An auto driver, a restaurant waiter may be knowing better maths than me. Bu that is not at all a disadvantage to me. Even with that limited maths sense I worked out your 12 bets. I do not know whether to cry or laugh at your dubious claims. Your bluff that you earned 10 lakhs with 1000 starting lay bet will carry zero credibility. Your total reluctance to my such small request proves beyond doubt that you have no answer.

In spite of that, if I have missed some some shrewd strategy that you employed to earn 10 lakhs from 1000, then share the same with horsetalk members. That may jack up your current level of credibility to sky-high.

Do that much small favor. You owe that much minimum courtesy to your followers. Even now, I am feeling the pain why I did not back 1000 or 1500 each on HOF & Temerity. So, no one questions your selections.

You said you won 10 lakhs. Substantiate that with work sheet. Not by giving note-numbers.

HO JAANE DO DHOODH KA DHOODH AUR PAANI KA PAANI.

@Chanakya,

You have came up with only the list of horses that you tipped well in advance to 'eat', & the odds quoted by the bookies on that horse. The work sheet that I was asking is still conspicuously missing. Instead you say that one can do all calculations and satisfy about the possibility of earning 10 lakhs by eating those horses.

As you already know, I am a perennial loser, and also I am a person with selective amnesia. A frustrated one also. Very much regret that you do not know about my one more weak point. I am bad at calculations also. A middle school dropout may easily do the calculations. But, I am worse than a middle school drop out. So I desire that you should give the calculations horsewise that has converted your 1000 start bet to 10 lakhs. I only expect that you do not indulge in the same kind of stonewalling that you have mastered. You owe that much courtesy to horsetalk members to establish that you actually won 10 lakhs, but I was totally unreasonable in appreciating that grad success but persisting with the disbelief.

It is you who started all this by claiming that you ate those 12 horses and earned 10 lakhs with 1000 as start bet. And only you can give the correct calculations.

@Santhoshkumar vk,

Punters half the age of Chanakya are being chased by creditors, finance companies and are facing the charge of bounced cheques. No one can sustain in this tough field without doing home work. Betting and earning in races is not as easy as passing MBA entrance test. All those I know. But why you brought up this aspect. Where I have even hinted that Chanakya is a bettor, but he bets without doing proper study.

Anyway, no hard feelings. If I have used any inappropriate words about you taking sides, just be happy. I will take back those lines.

Have Known Mr Chanakya since Alaindair’s invitation win at Hyderabad.
Also know how much Effort he puts into reading each race prior to zeroing in on his choice.
He will never bet unless he has done his homework,a DISCIPLINE Punters must learn & Adhere to,which I TOO Lack.
IN MOST RACES IF YOU SEE THE REASON A PUNTER MAKES HIS BET,And if the pick obliges he is convinced he was right but I doubt if he even will bother to see why the other fancied horses failed to deliver.
I feel the LUCK of the person- IS the contributing factor to deliver or doom the Punter.

Hi,

first of all I have to thank some HT writers for having ignited the passion in me to earn my million to fund my horse racing activities in future. Unlike some other revered ones over here, I attempted to do it in a day, and voila , I succeeded. I have proof of my success too. Many of you horsetalkers know Santosh (Libero). He is a friend of mine too and he bears the proof of my success.
So, it went like this.....

I liked Automatic in race no. 3 for win and Don't Dilly Dally for place. I was planning to start with wagering 25000 bucks on one of them which carried better returns. I was out with 100000 in my pocket, all in crisp 2000 notes, having withdrawn full 24000 of my weekly limit also , but bolstered by the fact that 13th Monday, restrictions of withdrawal would go off.

Blame it on Bangalore traffic woes, my Uber reached me at the course just when 3rd race started. I was exasperated, my first unit of roll bet having gone, surely I must have missed a lot of money. but to my utmost bliss, neither of my 2 options came through. I was feeling like an enraged tiger before entering, turned into a purring cat after the completion of the race. All 25k intact in my pocket, which would have disappeared into thin air.

Met Santosh(Libero) , told him about my great luck in not being able to enter course before 3rd race, he grinned. Here came 4th race. Romantic Haven, John astride, was my choice for a place bet. Greed you might say. But, when I approached the counter, bravado struck me. I raised my 25k bet starting limit to 30k, and bet 10k each way Win Shp Place. Sudha won the race well, Romantic Haven improved positions to finish 2nd. After payments were announced, I gleefully collected 98000 bucks, a cool 68k profit.

Libero wanted a afternoon beer party immediately, and although I was not very keen to leave the race course then, I obliged for a friend. 3 beers between the two of us snatched away betting opportunities for race 5 & 6. When we reentered race course, I told him, I want to make my million too from racing just like some of the revered ones do and i am going to take my chance rolling my bet. He smiled and wished me all the best.

So, bolstered by my 25k turning into 93k with Romantic Haven, I wagered 80k win on Escala, and covered it up to a certain extent with 13k ShP. It prevailed in a ding dong battle, and voila, my kitty had grown into 336k. I was just feeling over the moon. Never in my life I had won such an amount on a single day, and here it became true. But as Robert Frost said, " I still had miles to go before I slept". Next race Tea Wid Me was my fancy. But this guy, Libero, he is adamant, after afternoon beer, he wants me to have Tea with him than betting on Tea Wid Me. I obliged after a lot of persuasions and was cursing him for taking me out of a winning streak, when voila, Tea Wid Me flopped miserably. Suddenly I didn't have right words to thank my friend, who had saved my bankroll, he was only smiling and said it cost me Rs 20 to have successful Tea with him, than unsuccessful wager of 336k on Tea Wid Me. I thanked him again and again.

Then came the last race of the day. I knew Frenemee had been given injudicious rides in previous few occasions and the animal can redeem itself whenever given a proper ride. But worry was its rider R.Rayan Ahmed, who fell from a horse's back on the previous race. I thought enough is enough, let me skip and return home elated, anyway. But something inside made me go with it. I backed 250k win and 86k Shp as safeguard. What a ride Rayan gave, Frenemee returned home an easy winner and I came back with 1075000 bucks, out of which 25k was initial investment. 5ok mor Ethan my target, Libero and me waltzed away to the happening places in town to blow it up. Today decided to take rest after my success. Quest for multi-million begins henceforth.

------
------
The above was just a figment of imagination. All 3 horses were my fancy and posted in selections. But with not so successful fancies too, ended the day, winning only 4000 bucks. Santosh is a friend indeed, whom I didn't meet yesterday but met during the Invitation weekend. I wrote this piece to make HT men aware that this is how people who are craving for attention, run their imagination amok. Apologize in advance if some of us can relate themselves.

@svp,

Appreciate your down to earth arithmetic. You sound like a commerce master. Whereas, I do not show any concession to bluff masters, on one thing we should be lenient.

In racing circle, if I say, my win is 5000, that means my returns less bets is 5000. If he says his loss is 3000, all his bets minus returns is 3000.

We need not question them about sundry expenses like auto, book, entry fee (and for visitors from outstation the trave cost, lodging) etc.

So if he says 35k balance after 4 failed bets, let us take at face value. They are the big targets for all disbelievers. No harm in not reminding or mentioning the overheads & incidentals.

So let us give him chance to convert that 35000 to 10 lakhs. For a man who began with 1000 and in a single day made 130000 profit converting 35k to 10 lakhs should be child's play. Let him do that and I will lead the delegation to present him the greetings and best wishes from all the racing sites.

@ stop fooling member,

A new law! O K. As of now I do not recognise such law. Anyway will give serious consideration after going through all rules, case studies in that Law. For the time being, I have an urgent task of exposing all the bluffs, lies and half truths of Chanakya. The man who says I have selective amnesia has to establish his credentials as a man with good memory.

@Satosh kumar vk.

Good. I also desire that the interaction should not look one sided. You are appreciative of Chanakya talking back. Well. Rally behind him. As long as you genuinely believe his profit claims, you are ethically bound to defend the man who is being ridiculed by majority.

But taking sides in such serious discussions should not be on untenable logic. Chanakya's claims of start bets 1000/- with 12 (eat) bets should give 10 lakhs. If you believe this with your knowledge and experience in racing, I really appreciate your compulsion and commitment to support Chanakya.

If you do not believe his profit claims and yet take his side, then also no problem. You are in good company.

ALL THESE RUNNERS WILL LOSE THEIR RESPECTIVE RACES AS A FAVORITE AS POSTED BY ME BEFORE THE RACE – AND ALL OF THEM LOST.

By paying 10% for any win or ‘lay’ bet- irrespective of the amount of the bet - my winnings have crossed a million mark...

In layman’s language – I have won more than Rs. 10,00,000 in 10 days...

Those with inadequate knowledge of arithmetic may ask their children to do calculations by 'eating' these 'lay' bets progressively...

I need not repeat again and again that losers will always outnumber the winners and will always vent their frustration on them and will stare at truth in disbelief...

Amen.

What is left in Chanakya's kitty ? In head post he mentions Rs. 1,31,140. In his post of 03/13/2017 1:26:33 he says he has about 35,000 left. Real Chanakya may have written arthashastra but our man cannot do simple arithmetic.

On 9 March he lost Rs. 90,000 + Rs 9,000 tax. So his kitty comes down to 32,140.

Over week-end he gave 7 tips all of which ended in negative. He did not mention amounts but since his minimum bet is 1,000 that's another 7,000 plus 700 tax down the drain. That leaves 25,140 in kitty.

He does not like to pay for his USA and Europe trips out of hard-earned money. Why should Bangalore be different ? Airfare Mumabi-Bangalore-Mumbai and cost of 'thousands' in staying at swank (?) Bangalore International should be deducted from 25,140.

So now you know what is left in kitty. Certainly not "around 35,000".

Great. I was wondering why I am an eternal loser? Thanks for clarifying. I was interacting with you!

There is no doubt, no question that I am a loser. No ifs & buts. No post race sob stories. And importantly, no post race profit claims.

From your side no such disclosure. Instead only drum beatings. From 1000 to 10 lakhs. Not even a fresher in punting business will believe that.

Raghavan said ...

@Chanakya,

Right. Selective amnesia. And eternal loser. No dispute on that.

So you are a man of sharp memory. Give the list of those 12 horses that you ate, along with the risk and returns.

I have asked that question 8 or 9 times so far. Every time you are refusing to answer. All your bravado sounds pathetically comic.

If you give clear answer to that, that will settle the issues once for all. No need to show your lung power.

Chanakya jee, I have seen races (and race goers) for more than 3 decades. And, I know that all punters are of uniform mindset. Downplaying the losses, while dancing thaiya thakka on every wins.

Instead of rhetoric, you give the list of horses you ate, the risk thereon and the returns on each of those 12 cases and then talk other things. I have selective amnesia. I am a loser. But as a winner and as a man of sharp memory you should be at no disadvantage to answer my queries.

If you are not answering, that only means YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ANSWER.

You are not new to this site. In all probability, you were interacting in this site well before I knew that such a site exists. It is a pity that such a senior member instead of facing a question head on, is trying to shout down a simple cross question.

Please understand. You are not the first person and you are not the only person who has been asked such cross question. Everyone who comes with profit claims after the race will be grilled. If not by me, then by someone else. Go through in this site itself how many have expressed their disbelief of your 1.3 lakh gain.

GIVING 12 HORSES FOR EAT IS NOT AT ALL IN DISPUTE. DO NOT REPEAT THAT THE EAT TIPS WERE GIVEN WELL IN ADVANCE. I AM IN RACING FOR SUFFICIENT YEARS AND I KNOW THAT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO EARN 10 LAKHS BY EATING 12 HORSES. THE DISPUTE IS NOT ABOUT THE TIMING OF THE 'EAT' TIPS. THE DISPUTE IS ABOUT YOUR BETS, ODDS, RISKS AND RETURNS.

YOU HAVE TIED YOURSELF IN ALL KNOTS. I KNOW IT IS NOT AT ALL POSSIBLE TO EARN 10 LAKHS BY EATING 12 HORSES. FIRST COME WITH YOUR CALCULATION SHEET, WORK SHEET. IF YOU CAN NOT ANSWER, THEN SHOW SOME GRACE TO ADMIT THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE ANSWER.

I am a loser. Established beyond a reasonable doubt as I am not giving tips.

I know there are several 100s of punters who have made 10 lakhs. From, the starting balance of 1 cr. Your claim is that you made 10 lakhs from a start bet of 1000. Let the horsetalk members see your work sheet explaining how you made that.

I appreciate your selective amnesia - must have mastered it over a period...

Forgot to help reduce un-necessary burden imposed by BTC on fellow winners to claim refund on illegal tax cut...
But then why should you do it because you are/were never a winner - your own admission of the fact...

But why you are anti-winners?

I HAVE GIVEN ALL THE TIPS BEFORE THE RACE... AND YOUR MYOPIC MEMORY PUTS IT AFTER THE RACE!

and you are discussing them after the races were won!

Well, I can understand your pique against the winners and your inability to give even a single winning tip over last few years and the 2 rules which you have given are universally true and applicable on all the losers across the world!

HOW CAN A LOSE MOCK ON A LOSER - THEY CAN MOCK ONLY ON A WINNER WHO IS NOT LIKE THEM!

@all

My 2 rules:

Rule 1. Losers will ALWAYS outnumber winners in any field.

Rule 2. Losers will ALWAYS vent out their frustration on winners...

my third rule:

STOP INTERACTING WITH LOSERS - YOU MAY BECOME ONE...

Raghavan said ...

14-Mar-2017
@Sophos,

These two rules are applicable to all race punters from the day betting started on Horse races and will remain operational as long as races will be there.

1. No person on this land or heavens or netherworld can convert 1000 to 10 lakhs by betting on horses.

2. Every punter is a loser.

That is why I follow one rule: Never to mock, taunt anyone for his failed selections. If every selections from Chanakya clicks, then the Government will be compelled to build a separate Reserve Bank exclusively for race punters.

So, let us resist the temptation to slam, mock any one who conveys his selections here but the said horse/s fail. But, let us be equally merciless in savaging those who come with big profit claims after the races.

@sfp,

Chanakya has not taken offence at my suggestion. He says he will give serious consideration on that and decide. He has not committed that he will follow it. He may or may not follow it. But, your attempt to create the misunderstanding or escalate the already existing misunderstanding has been a miserable flop. Chanakya has thrown that part of writing from you to the dust bin. That is sufficient to me.

You say not giving tips is an admission on my part that I have no racing knowledge. O K. You are telling the truth. I have zero knowledge of racing. So I do not tip.

All my write ups are personal attacks on the writers who contribute. Good. It is your prerogative to convey what you think of my write ups. How many writers I have attacked you can just mention. And whether they all have taken any objection to my so called 'personal attacks'? If they are hurt and express their displeasure, that certainly will carry credibility and deserves my explanations. What it is to you?

Writing all non racing and irrelevant things!

First, when I have no knowledge in racing, and I do not have any inhibition to admit that deficiency, I can write only non racing aspects. But, in what way that troubles you? And who has delegated you the right and responsibilities to decide whether what I write is relevant or irrelevant. Indiarace come has a competent admin who will decide whether what I write is worthy or not to publish.

@Chanakya,

I speak to the extent my understanding permits. Whether it is relevant or irrelevant or worthy of publication is to be decided by the admin of this site. If what everything that you have written are wise and serious things and entirely opposite from my side then people will give higher weightage to your writings and dismiss all that I have written. As simple as that.

I, do question the claims of big wins in racing. It is for the writer to anticipate such awkward questions from some of the Indiarace members and be confident and reassured to answer those questions. That applies to not only Chanakya, but all others, And, if you browse all responses in this site you will agree that Raghavan is not the only person to pooh pooh any win claims after the race.

Anyway, in your latest post there is one refreshingly clear response. That you will give some serious consideration to what I suggested. Though not committing to either agreeing or disagreeing. Someone thought of quoting that line out of context and thereby instigating you to start another battle. As if the existing and continuing confusion and conflict between we two are not sufficient. You have shown that you are a man with much higher stuff.

@stop fooling punter,

Chanakya has explained what he actually means by 'tenner'.

You said "Chanakya, my respect to you goes up, at least you have guts to admit your mistake". O K. If you have so much respect for Chanakya, I am extremely happy about that. I am in good company. I have equal respect to him. And, that is, notwithstanding my repeated awkaward questions to him. He has shown maturity that fits his age & experience.

I fail to see any mistake on the part of Chanakya. And, when there is no mistake, there is no question of having guts to admit that. Can you please elaborate what his mistake is and where he has admitted that?

This is not applicable to Chanakays alone but to all who write and read here.

We are punters and not bookies so help each other. Choices can be wrong by any one including me .
So let us stop this moral lecturing and let every one bet as per his wish.
I am sure he is a wiser man than most of us and has pointed out the flaws in BTC.

So BNG'IANS concentrate on that You will benifit. no one else will.

Since my bet rollover exceeds rs 1 to 2000 I will stick to the bookmakers.

Glorious Eyes - win
Cameron - win
6th race favorite will lose. winner may come from 7,8,2,1.

Results:

Paramour -Lost
Glorious Eyes - lost
Cameron - lost
6th race favorite - won.

I guess there may not be anything left in the kitty now. Racing is very difficult when u have to find winner pre race but nothing is easier than finding winners post race.

Beter luck next time sirji.

@Kumar_blore,
Thanks for your good wishes...
@SFPunter,
Yes, I have now roughly 35,000 in the kitty. It will take more time now to expand it due to wrong selections at Mumbai, but will not be difficult. Let us see...

@MRKamath,
Thanks. Yes I believe what you said about your friend. Those days there was no tax on the winnings – club’s commission and betting tax( by the state) only was payable...
@svp,
I don’t have to spell out every detail before the race .Somewhere, I said my ‘tenner’ will be on Tororosso.

@ Raghavan,
It is OK to create interest on a topic and try to improve the TRP of a site, by negative comments most of the time and asking sometimes, irrelevant questions and imposing ‘funny’ conditions on persons posting tips.
After reading innumerable advice from you over a period, I think I can also give one advice to you.

‘Veda’ at HRC has met the club administration several times , alone ans also with other like minded punters and got many facilities and benefits for the punters.
Govt. Of India has imposed 30% tax on winnings over Rs. 10,000. If you win Rs.10,010 you have to pay only Rs. 3 as tax at Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Meerut, Lucknow and perhaps at Kolkata, Hyderabad , Chennai and Ooty. But at Bangalore and Mysore punters are asked to cough up Rs. 3000+ and claim refund.
GOI income tax rules are same throughout India. BTC is harassing local punters by twisting the rile book .
Instead of wasting hours on these sites, go with other punters and argue with facts and figures with BTC that they are harassing the local punters ,or file a PIL (costing few hundred rupees) with a claim for expenses against BTC which is the WORST RACING CENTER IN TERMS OF FACILITY TO PAYING PUNTERS. THESE MEN CONSIDER THE PEOPLE, BECAUSE OF WHICH THEY EXIST – AS CANNON FODDER!
It was a nightmare, to enter this STUPID RACE COURSE ON INVITATION DAY!

THIS SOCALLED RACECOURSE CAN NOT PROVIDE LIVE VISIBLE RACING TO 99.9% OF THE PUNTERS AND VISITERS ;BUT SOME ONE CLAIMS 1800 CRORE TURNOVER(TRUE) AND REMAINS SILENT ON THE FACILITIES PROVIDED TO THOSE – BECAUSE OF WHOM HE AND HIS ‘FREINDS’ EXIST!
By the way, first time I’ll seriously consider your submission. Not that I’ll follow it but will consider seriously.
CONCLUDING , I MUST SAY THAT MAKING MONEY FROM RACING IS NOT EASY – FROM BLACK YOU BECOME GREY AND THEN WHITE TO UNDERSTAND THE INTRICACIES OF ‘INDIAN’ RACING WHICH IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM INTERNATIONAL RACING...

@SFP,

I am happy that so far I have not given any losing tips so far.

I said Chanakya that his joy trips should be from separate funds and he should not depend on race winnings. If he wins from races also no harm. That is extra bonus. It is you who is trying to create some misunderstanding between we two. You can spare that trouble. We both have enough misunderstandings already. One thing that is amusing is, if I have spoken something wrong to him, Chanakya is shrewd and smart to take care of that. He does not require any mouth pieces.

I am wise enough to know what right I am having and what right I am not having. If Chanakya had objected to what I have posted, I would have happily and without any ifs and buts take back what I have said.

That applies to you also. If I speak to you anything unnecessary OR unwarranted, and you think that I have no business to talk like that, I will take back that also without any ifs and buts.

I know he is elder to me; but not too much. I am not in teens. FYI I am a grandfather of 5 year old boy.

Anyway I did not lectured him. I made a submission. It is for him to take it or leave it.

@Chanakya,

Some posts speaking about their disbelief. Even after Ram Iyer's support and my greetings. Must be sufficient for you to understand that the standards the two racing site members insist are much higher than what you had bargained for.

I am having some funny fixations. I say funny. But, if you collect the data from all the punters about their bettings for one or two months and analysed, then you may heartily say "Raghavan, what you said is 100% correct".

Now what is that funny fixation from my side?

People generally believe that if I win 30k today, that is actually a curse from the race horses. Certainly you will indulge in gross indiscretion and in less than fortnight you will lose 3 lakhs!

My view in some way is quite reverse. What I say is, only after losing 3 lakh rupees, you will see 30k cash in your hand. And to see another 30k, you have to first lose another 3 lakhs.

So, Chanakya jee, I still agree that you had some rewarding stay at BNG. But, however sharp and however intelligent you are, never never forget for a moment that you are a punter. And only that much. Almighty may make you President of America. But, once inside the race course you are nothing more than a punter. And the punters are the weakest link in the racing world. All stake holders, bookies are waiting like hawks only to snatch your money. And they are succeeding in that for centuries.

So. a small submission from my side. Never try to finance your business trip or pleasure trip from the race winnings. Never even think on those lines. Maintain a separate reserve fund for that. Your personal comforts, joy trips should not under any circumstances depend on race winnings. If you beating all odds and gain 10 lakh, then that is double bonus.

"Good march each way. Tororosso and Temerity. Shivalik Showers place."

Granted that Good March was 'brain-fade' for Bold March. But nowhere you have said that you are going to roll the winnings.

It is your money and yu have right to do what you please. But if you change your original posting ex post facto only when your bets have come through, you will lose even your diminishing credibility.

You people still have some reservations! Well can not fault you on that.

But my request is this. Agree to what Chanakya has said. I know Ram Iyer and certainly do not disbelieve him. Yours faithfully, an eternal & confirmed disbeliever, would not have taken at face value if some Venki, Nani OR Seeni had said that what Chanakya has claimed is true.

At the same time, do not hesitate to post critical comments if anyone claims Himalayan gains, that too after the race.

Sagarji came late straight from the Airport and presented his latest book to a few.

Raghavan Sir, I know you are a veteran and you go to the races out of your passion. However, Sir, I feel racing is a zero-sum-game, I guess hardly 1% may have come out as winners, over the long term. One may win big on a particular day, but then there would be streaks of losses which might simply wipe out the gains of that day.

I heard a saying that Losers' face blackens only half, Winners' face blackens fully.

So, I feel we should take such tall stories with a huge pinch of salt !

@Blockbuster,

Pedigree gyan is always inbuilt in my choices, that is not to be spelled out separately everytime.

Pedigree wise Tororosso and Temerity were far better than HOF.That is why I totally ignored HOF and divided my money on both- Toro and Temerity. Their dam line gave them the stamina they needed. Go to pedigree site and analyse minutely and see the difference - Roman numbers DI and various other parameters...

So, Ram Iyer was a witness to the fireworks from Chanakya.

Well. Anyone who wins 10k or more in a day is a big hero to me. This is 130000 win! Great. It requires 56 inch chest to bet 16k on Temerity, when the whole world was screaming tororoso/HOF.

Chanakyaji, you yourself have started this, now prove it that you know much about horse racing.

@againstodds,

I am annoyed, angry and sad for you.

I am amazed and impressed by your selections on Invitation day – the toughest racing day of the year where you gave 6 straight winners!
Have you realised that an investment of Rs. 157 will give a return of almost half a million rupees!

Those who have guts and can roll Rs. 1000 will get a bounty of Rs. 2.6 million!!

Why did you lose this opportunity?

@ Racing,
I don’t believe in luck – which is the panacea of losers, who blame it for their failure/(s). I believe in hard work and it has never failed me – though it does’nt ‘work’ every time but helps me most of the time.

@ ad,
Are you A.D or B.C.(before Christ) – I don’t know; but you are neither a serious punter nor a knowledgeable one- that much I know.
You say it is difficult to make a million in a year – if you had guts and followed ‘againstodds’ tips on Invitation day by rolling Rs. 1000(I hope you can afford this much) on his first 6 tips you would have won 2.6 million on an investment of Rs. 1570+!!!

Learn racing- my advice...

Chanakyaji,

If you really can achieve (i.e A Million!) what you have set out to...it will be nothing short of a miracle! That too, with an initial capital of Rs 1100 only! Remarkable indeed!

Since you have started with a bang and already built up a healthy base, it wouldn't matter, even if you were to lose on a couple of meetings..given the level of your suggested investment/race/day.....so carry on, uninhibitedly!

Whether your selections would be based on Numerology or otherwise, it would make no difference, as long as you can pick the right ones!

I too practice Horse-Nameology at times, and I know, that there could be several instances when one's numerological study might throw up more than one probable choice, in a particular race. Stay clear of such ambiguities.

Request that you post your selections at least an hour before the races begin, so that readers/punters could benefit, and we can also compare notes to strengthen our respective choices.

Thanks & Regards,
BKD
