The Delhi “Derby†“sceneâ€
What a Joke!!! I will start by stating that the biggest joke of a racing fixture award goes to the The Delhi Derby. Firstly, the Club depending on a “sponserâ€- co-suspect of the biggest stamp paper racket, Telgi; arrested and a wanted man for scams and fraud, for mere 10 lacs is pathetic.
Derby it the most prestigious event of a racing season and is one sure shot fixed racing fixture. However, DRC doesn’t give a damn! The owners, trainers and the contenders, all work hard from months before keeping in mind this fixed date. Right?! Who cares! Derby hi toh hai, kabhi bhi, kisi bhi din kar do/ sponser ka ghoda taiyar nahi hai. This is Delhi Derby for you :/
Well, finally after two reschedules, it was held on 14th March, 2017. Thank you DRC, great job!
What a pathetic excuse of a Derby it was! The sponser was a degrade of a man for whom red carpet is laid out, whereas the owners, who are actually needed to run the Club were disrespected. Yes, the owners were pushed out of the boxes they PAY for the whole year (just that the amount is not 10 lacs and Sunny Leone is not the company)!
Now to the horses, what horses, only six Delhi racehorses ran in the Delhi Derby and ending up nowhere. Cheers to the DELHI DERBY!
