I feel the most interesting name here is K P G Appu. A great jockey at his time. Was quite when he took the job of assistant starter at gates rather then a trainers license. Surely if the likes of a few who have done nothing can become a trainer why not K P G Appu.

Congrats to all new trainers. I would like to make one point where Race Clubs have a age limit for trainers to retire. What use of trainers training for the last 30 or 40 years. How can a trainer retire then get a license after 5 years. How does the sport develop if we get to see the same trainers. Family of trainers. Some trainers go winless the whole season or the whole year or just about get one winner.

ParvathiByramji is the most experienced and smart in horse trading & training. She is very active in BTC, many people may not be knowing only two ladies gives track work for horses in BTC one is Silva storia (irfan ghatala stable), every one knows her a former jokey and the other lady active in the morning track since 15 years is Mrs ParvathiByramji. Pls be aware of all this before commenting.

Bangalore Trainers Neil and A.Sulaiman both are competent to train classic horses. they can also break at Mumbai and Kolcutta. But somehow they are lagging
some times. These two trainers are the future of India's racing sport.

K.Thomas is the best of all new trainers at present at BTC... He's doing excellent hardwork.. His calculations are perfect.. Placing him at the top as of now!!! But Arshad Alam must be given more chances to ride his mounts... No Doubt... K.Thomas has a very bright future....

The current scene Prassana has done miracles with putannas horses[what ever may be the reason].
Daruis is the second case ruined horses of one owner/owners have won many races with greg Sandhu.since the change over. The srilankan owners are meeting the same fate with Daruis.One win than down in the dump
BNG summer season S.S. and I rfan will be in the fore front followed by these two listed on top.
Arjun and neil need sharpennig up [they have to get out of the habit of not running fav horses].
As per rules these ones will get only few horses .Let us see the owners with them

The One more is M.R.Singh (ex jockey and asst to Amit Cady). They will have to undergo a test and based on the results the licenses will be issued.

Punters will be quite eager to see how K P G Appu starts his second innings. He had carved a niche for himself as a reasonably good jockey, fighting among the likes of Aslam Khader, Pesi Shroff, Robin corner and Warren Singh. I still remember how Zareer Darashah used to make use of Appu for Doosra, making our lives hell showing Warren-ridden horses the favourite. Winning in longer odds was a routine thing for Appu during those days. However, his entry in Mumbai races proved the turning point and after that he returned to Bangaluru, where if my memory serves right, he became the champion jockey in one season on the last day. A sensational jockey, therefore, he was and I expect him to command respect as a trainer, too. Let's see...
