I am little scpetical about the prizes offered. Last time the GENEROUS gentlman who offered prizes vanished when time came to give away the prizes leaving the COS team red faced. I dont want to doubt Mr Rakesh but what's the guarantee?? I would prefer not to be in that situation again.

The crux of the TREASURE HUNT COS is to convert 2000 into 200,000 in the shortest possible period and not from 10,000 to 200,000.

The concept of repeat 'loan' of 2000 (upto 5 instances, if required) is only to facilitate re-entry of a contestant, in case he happens to lose the entire loan capital of 2K, in each of his attempts.

In fact, we are providing each contestant a maximum of 5 attempts (in 6 days) to generate profits and reach a target of 200,000 or at least reach close.

However, if there is any Return on Investment on a given day...the entire sum comprising of the loan amount(2K) and whatever profits generated, would be carried forward to the next meeting and so on... until the end of the contest.

In such instances, a fresh Loan of 2K can only be availed of, if the built up capital(loan + profits) slides back to ZERO.

Got it?

Your idea is certainly worth pursuing, but in this trial version of the contest,record keeping could become rather cumbersome. We could however, debate inclusion of this concept, in case, we were to run a full fledged TREASURE HUNT COS covering Bangalore Summer. Regret delay in responding.

I have a small suggestion.let all participants be allowed to draw 2000 every meetings and 10000 loan amount can be deducted from the final earnings,this can ease the calculations work.

In deference to doubts expressed by all and sundry with respect to inclusion of 'LAY' bets under the TREASURE HUNT COS, it has now been unanimously decided to DELETE the clause pertaining to 'LAY' bets, from the Rules of this contest.

We have stated that whatever be the Return from one's investment (LOAN) of 2K, that would be carried forward to the next meeting and so on.
It is not just the amount in excess of 2K (i.e profits), but the ENTIRE SUM, per se. (As per your query it would be 2500 (2000 + profit 500) and not just 500) Right?

We have also mentioned in the Rules, that the accrued amount of loan taken by the contestants would also have to be repaid to the Bank, whenever it is convenient to do so, during the tenure of the contest.

In any case, the loan amount availed of by a contestant would be deducted from the final scores, at the end of the contest. OK?

Any other queries gentlemen?

I too agree with Libero.Regarding lay bets we can discuss in off season.
I request you to have a re look for the following.
If a person gets first day profit of 500 rs he has to play the next day with that amount which is very small.I think you can allow the loan amount of 2000 to the second day along with the profit.If again second also he comes in plus,you can deduct the first loan of 2k and so on.There are some mercurial players who can acheive six digit figure in no time.Let the contests kickstart whatever it may be.We may fine tune if there is any short comings during the main season.

My suggestion for lay bet is that, "here we are trying to find winners and not losers" hence I feel lay bets cannot be entertained. If one wants to lay let him find the winner. There are 'n' number of jockey's and trainers who are yet to win this season and if lay bets are allowed I can say that I can lay 100/1 shot as my lay bet which ultimately will pass 95/100 times as we can easily identify the longer odds horse which may not win. So definitely no lay bets please

As intimated, I have once again approached HT Admin to grant their approval for the prizes.
.
I guess, it should not be an issue, since there are no cash awards being given away. In the past, we have been rewarding the Winners by presenting them with books and other mementoes. Anyway, let HT Admin confirm..after all, it's their prerogative.

With regard to the rules of the contest, we are trying to ensure that there are no grey areas for potential disputes.

The only aspect where I would like to seek your advice is whether we should do away with 'LAY' betting or not, in view of consternation shown by some of our members.

Great work done by your selfless team, especially you,Sir. Have one suggestion,if it can be incorporated,now or later.

A score of maximum number of WINS or PLACE or SHP nominated by a participant, similar to a leading trainer, Jockey,Tipster be also recognized and suitably rewarded. This would be a better indicator of a consistent performer over the six meets,and needs to be appreciated.

Dear BKD. So far no contest on this site has had this lay business ,so why now just because of one person.

Personsally I have nothing against it [Last sunday 5th race did the same] but the question is of keeping track of so many of us here.
Accounting will become very coumbersome with one normal bet other lay bet..
Trust me many will use the loan amount to do the same and if they lose you will be corrcting them only.This will increase your work load in a big way.

Regarding keeping scores, do you do it any where else so why here. Simple writers will make mistakes and extra time will be spent correcting the same.So you might as well do it from the start,
We saw this in the invitation weekend contest.It is only 6 days and approx 45to 50 punters. KSM is doing an excellent job and also corrects ,if some one points out the same.[He did it in my case]

These suggestions are there to help you in your task i f you feel that you can cope up without them ,so be it.

5-Total Credit accrued(including the loan amount) would be carried forward to the next Race meeting.
What we had meant was that the entire loan amount of 2K had to be utilised, and no 'unconsumed' amount of the loan, would be carried forward.

To exemplify..if a contestant were to invest 1500 only, as against 2000 loan, the balance of 500 would automatically lapse.

Moreover, if his returns after investing 1500 is 2010...so be it! He would not be entitled to any further loan on the next race day. He has to build upon this amount. Unless of course, he happens to lose the entire 2010 on a subsequent day. Only then, would he be allowed to avail of a fresh loan and start his innings afresh. The loan repayment can however, be made later on.


6-"Hello contestants, if you have made 10 points on first day, you have to continue your PLAY on the second day with 10 POINTS. You cannot carry over first day’s loan amount, or you cannot avail further loan of 2000 on the second day, because you gained 10 points on the first day, so you have to carry 10 points to second day and try to make Rs 2 Lakh"

Your above comment was in bad taste! Please desist from such tomfoolery!

7-Yes, self records have to be maintained by the contestants and posted at the end of each race day (3 days grace period though is permitted)
The Coordinators task would only be to check for mistakes, if any.

8-MM...there is no need to criticise the size of the Contest Support Team.
On the other hand, please try and appreciate the importance that we attach to all our contests whether under COS or PTR umbrella.

If you recall, the entire controversy of 200+ posts started with Chanakyaji claiming to have amassed a fortune of 1 Million from 1 K by 'laying' bets.
This game too was inspired and designed on similar lines, keeping the 'lay' element in mind.

After all, the concept of 'laying a bet' pertaining to this contest is only a notional one and as such, there is no question of 'legality' involved.
Besides, a lay bet can only be executed provided a contestant has a large enough kitty to sustain the extent of losses.

If this idea of 'laying' is not consensually acceptable, we will have it scratched in the regular version starting with Bangalore Summer. OK?

Example Fine I have earned rs 4000 in my meeti ng ,Than only can I lay bet.

Now next time I lay rs 3000 [at odds of evens in rates before the race]

If loses gets rs 3000 but thr closing odds are 1.5 and the horse wins that is a loss of rs 4500 much more than my kitty.So what happens

It's not compulsory that you 'LAY' any horse.

It's largely for those who feel that it is easier to make money by laying a bet rather than playing one....like Chanakya ji, for instance.

Further, you can only start laying bets from the profits generated and not from the initial loan amount of 2K.

The contest would be run on a trial basis covering 6 Mumbai race meetings only.

The highest /fastest scorer within this period would be declared as the eventual winner. Target of 2L may not be achieved in this truncated period.

If you need us to make a fund from 2k to 2L, then your Clause No.5 will obstruct the objective of this contest. Why?

1. You reserved total 10000 points per participants for five days.
2. The participants can draw 2000 at the start.
3. Suppose anyone invested 2000 and got 2010 he got a credit balance of Rs.10.
4. Your above clause 5 obstruct the tipster to draw further points, and if he has to play with his 10 or 2010 how can he build 1 Lakh within 5 race days?
5. Can anyone rebuild his innings from scratch and make 2 lakh?
6. My question to you is -
(a) when you have reserved 10000 points per participants, allow them to draw 2000 each on all five race days, irrespective of they make profit or not. Suppose anyone made 2010 on first day, you should allow him to draw 2000 more and and the tipster concerned must have 2010+2000= 4010 on the 2nd day to play the game. Otherwise, making forget 2 lakhs, nobody will reach 50000, that is my guarantee.

Hello friends,

We are pleased to announce a NEW PTR 2K-to-2L Contest for all HT members.

Participation is free and there are great prizes for the top performers.(subject to HT Admin's approval)

The contest is scheduled for 8 days only covering Mumbai Races, starting from 25th March'17, onwards and till end of the season.

RULES
------
1-BANK OF RACING will provide a MAXIMUM, interest free LOAN to all bonafide horse racing punters, a notional amount of Rs 10,000, spread equally over 5 Mumbai Winter Race meetings...i.e @ Rs 2000 per each race day.

2-The Contestants will have to post his betting plan, with the base fund of 2000; thirty(30) minutes before start of the first race. Entries will become invalid, if the 30 minute deadline is violated.

3-MINIMUM bet per Race/Pool (Win,Shp, Place & Rolls(max.3 races) would be Rs 1000. No investment in LAY BETS, KENCHIS, CDT, JP allowed.

4-If the initial betting fund of Rs 2000 for the day has been lost, the contestant will be free to re-draw the same loan amount on the next Mumbai race meeting, and so on..... until one's maximum quota of Rs 10,000 has been availed of. Thereafter, he will be out of the game.

5-If there is any Return on Investment, the contestant is expected to CAPITALISE upon this gain and therefore CANNOT avail of any fresh bank loan of Rs 2000 due, on the next race day.

6-However, if a contestant fails to build upon his credit balance in the subsequent meetings and it falls back to ZERO..ONLY then, would he be allowed to draw afresh from the bank funded loan of 2K/race day, subject to a max. of 10K.

8-The Bank loan availed has to be repaid from the contestant's profits in one or several instalments, according to convenience and strength of the balance sheet.

9-Objective of the contest is to convert Rs 2000 into Rs 200,000 in the shortest possible period, and that too, after having repaid the bank loan.

10-REWARDS and PENALTIES.

Reward: The fastest winner will be crowned as HT RACING GURUJI (there can however be more than one Guruji)

Penalty: If the contestant fails to repay the bank loan, he would be deemed as a defaulter and black listed from entering any race course (for his own good!)

General Notes:
-------------
1-End of each day's posting by a contestant would be mandatory, even if there is NIL returns. Max. 3 days would be granted for doing the needful.

2-NO CHANGE in the betting strategy or in the initially nominated horses will be acceptable, even in case of WITHDRAWALS, known beforehand.

3-The cumulative LOAN taken upto date, has to be mentioned in one's daily post, along with the Credit balance, if applicable.

4-Coordinator's task would be to monitor the cumulative loan taken, together with returns / progressive credit balance, and loans repaid.

5-WITHDRAWAL of any wagered horse for W/SHP/PL would be treated as Null and Void. No return of the betting amount.
However, if it's a 3 race Roll bet, and one happens to be withdrawn..the same would be deemed to be a 2 Race Roll, if successful, and so on.

6-LAY BETS:If a contestant were to lose a 'lay' bet....obviously, the corresponding tote dividend pertaining to the laid amount would be subtracted from his credit balance.

Please note that LAY bets would only be allowed from one's profits and not from the initial bank funded amount of 2K.

7-If any race is cancelled, the entire betting for that day would also be declared as Null & Void.

This is in regard to the proposed new contest format (a little variation to the present COS).

I too agree with the idea of making it sort of more real-time from a punters point of view.

The selfless tipsters could give their selections in a different thread and participants could give their bettings in a separate thread. If the tipsters are also willing participants, then all will be in one thread.

Since the betting will be half to one hour before the start of the race, I think all bettings could be variations available in Bangalore Tote System, viz, Win, Place, SHP, FC, etc with additionally roll bets. The winning dividends could be calculated based on Bangalore Tote by the participants themselves and posted as it may be too tedious for the organizers to keep track of all the participants individually.

Rakesh has expressed his willingness to sponsor prize money of 10k, 6k and 4k for the top 3 participants for the remaining 8 meetings of Bombay, and I thank him for his offer on behalf of all HT'ers, though I doubt a final format could be drafted within 25th Morning, anyways, his is a magnificent gesture.

So, set the ball rolling.

Thank you Sagar Sir for your brief note on the PTR Calendar and also advising us to complete the formalities for the Year 2017-2018 Season which we shall be rolling out very very shortly.

These roll outs shall be comprehensive and would cover all aspects concerning the PTR Contests (Hereinafter Called as "PTR" in all our communications used for the purpose)

The "PTR" as a term,in itself,is very prestigious and successfully rolled out by Sagar Saab, Y.O.Y and is being directly connected to Major Events of the Various RC's in India in Particular apart from the regular calendar events of the RC's Concerned in general. The aim of the Contest is to Promote the following :-

A) Seek active Cooperation of the Contesting Participants
B) To provide at-least some way forward / Direction to the fans/Patrons of this sport in real terms.
C) to enhance the Morale of the contestants and motivate them further to excel in this sport through this contest.
D) To test the overall competitive spirit of the contestants vis a vis (His selections, discipline and systematic progress during the tenure of the contest)
E) Overall Satisfaction of the contestants and FEEL GOOD factor generated from these activities.

As a First step, to chart out a systematic approach to the contests, the following are considered to be as Embedded so as to ensure success and satisfaction to one and all concerning the contests.

A) Understanding the Racing calendar of the Various RC's (I request Libero to publish the Calendar of all RC's at the earliest for the year 2017 Summer Season)

B) Formation of PTR Management Team and its constituents (SKumar shall work in coordination with Sagar Saab) and formation of the said Team shall be published with three to four days.

We will be addressing this very shortly as we need to understand what are all the Problems our Space Sponsors (HT and Indiarace.com) are facing on this front and we shall put every effort to give a solution to these issues.

We are very clear on this front that our Space and Courtesy Partner, INDIARACE.com,should not be put to any kind of discomfort,unpleasant situation or any circumstance which may arise on account of the Contest and ensure smooth and efficient running of the said contest. We will work in close tandem and to the utmost satisfaction of our Partner.

E) Roll Out of Rewards / Recognition and Awards :-

The aim of the contest is to recognize and reward the performers of this very Prestigious and highly competitive PTR. It shall be our endeavor to give the best on this front to the deserving contestants.

Apart from the offer of Sagar Saab giving as prizes of his treasured collections of "Six Words" and " INTELLIGENT FIELD", we will very shortly announce well in advance by each PTR's of the summer season 2017, the rewards structure and entitlements the Winners, Runners and Participants would be entitled on the successful completion of the PTR. (We need to work this out and necessary approvals of the PTR Management Team headed by Sagar Saab needs to be taken).

We assure you all that we shall be doing our very best in this front and a detailed note in this regard alongwith the above Points referred in (A) to (D) Paras will be published shortly.

Conclusions :- We intend to roll out a "Contestant friendly PTR's" whilst we stay very simple and understanding to one and all concerning this prestigious Contests. We shall be completing all the objectives set in above within 10-12 working days and a formal roll out will be announced.

Dear PTR Management Team Members and BKD,
I am somewhat overwhelmed and deeply privileged and honored that the ownership of the brand name `PTR CONTESTS` has been granted to my name. I hope I - with the kind help of the team members - will be able to live up to expectations.
In this connection, I have a few observations to make which are as given below and may kindly be taken note of before the PTR Management Team draws up The future plans for these PTR Comtests.

1) That there are some constraints and limitations with regard to the amount of time I can devote to this venture, considering that I am still working full time despite being 75 plus years old, and I am deeply involved in the writing of books on Science and Philosophy, as well as giving frequent talks on these topics.

2) Currently there are two major PTR Annual events, viz ``THE FOUR WINTER DERBIES PTR`` held during January and February, and ``THE INVITATION WEEKEND PTR`` held during the first weekend of March.

3) As a gesture of appreciation of the love and respect given to me, I am proposing to add one more PTR Annual contest viz : `THE BANGALORE SUMMER CLASSICS PTR`` comprising of the three classics, `The Fillies Trial Stakes`, The Colts Trial Stakes`, and the `Bangalore Summer Derby`.

4) Sometimes we have included `THE US TRIPLE CROWN PTR`,over the years it has achieved only a limited success, but if there is a good demand for it, we can include this also as one of the Annual Contests. I ask the views of HT members on this before deciding whether to include it in the annual prospectus.

5) I am not inclined that expensive prizes should be offered to the winning contestents, at least not for the PTR Contests, for then it may lead to some legal complications, and I think the Admn of Indiarace may not approve or permit this.

6) However I will continue to offer my books `SIX WORDS ` and `INTELLIGENT FIELD` to the winners of the contests, as it doesn`t add up to more than a few thousand Rupees per year, and it gives me much pleasure if people read my books and if it is considered a coveted prize worth contesting for.

If there are some more aspects to be considered we can discuss.

I humbly accept your decision to run this proposed new contest under the COS umbrella. Thank you ever so much.

In view of my pre-occupation this morning, I could not browse through this post, earlier in the day.

Nevertheless, we would have to truncate the tenure of the trial contest from 8 to 6 meetings ...starting from Mumbai Races of 1st April'17 (Saturday).

Accordingly, I will modify the general rules and request HT Admin to publish the details by tomorrow on this same thread.
