Back to listsHas Chennai-based Trainer B Suresh Retired??
By Smart-still-poor-punter | 25-Mar-2017
There are some people in this world who create many records, but never get noted. Chennai-based trainer B Suresh is one such personality. I really don't know how many racegoers even know that a trainer by this name exists in MRC and has won so many races, only next to another controversial trainer of his times, Robert Foley.
There used to be a time when Foley and Suresh used to sweep a card, sharing all the races between them. Compared to Foley, Suresh still did not enjoy much publicity, maybe because he preferred to live in the shadows all through.
I don't remember anyone making any serious remark about Suresh even during his heydays. He used to come and stand in the paddock silently, and will have no reaction whatsoever even when his mounts win in a line. I really don't know if there can be another trainer like Suresh who has not celebrated his wins at all.
After the revolutionary changes happening in MRC, first I found Foley being swept under the carpet. At least Foley is seen there as a 'mere spectator', participating in a miniscule fashion. But what about Suresh? Where is he? Has this trainer really called it a day?
