Flash Strike By Bookmakers Deprived Me Of A Million Win!

By Chanakya | 03-Apr-2017

Flash strike by bookmakers deprived me of a million win!
Saturday was a rare punters’ day and after rating Sunday’s card I found it much better than Saturday’s card which finally ended with 6 favourites(at Mumbai) winning their respective races! The bookmakers were so upset with the continuous wins of favourites, that on a minor pretext they stopped accepting bets for the last 2 races and went on a flash strike and deprived me of my first million in a day!

Sensing a golden opportunity, I posted my selections BEFORE the races to ward off mischief-mongers,and reached racecourse to use my ‘speed rating’ results to finance my Europe’s trip.
My selections were : SOHarmony, Mathiyus, Oracle- roll & win each, and Lady Sergeant and Undisputed –double...
Starting with initial bet of 2000 on SOH(16/10),>MATH(65/100),> Oracle(6/4) gave me Rs. 20,250 (minus tax –which I paid extra- usual in Mumbai ).
Next race L Sergeant(13/4) was looking very good in paddock so decided to have a go and told my bookie to put all wins on her . Next race there was a big commotion in the main ring and before it permeated to Member’s enclosure bookmakers I placed my bet on Undisputed (3/1) giving me a net return of 3,28,000.

Next race , Master of Trinity quoted at 5/2 was to run and win, but the clever and frustrated bookmakers in order to reduce their losses on favourites went on flash strike and refused to accept bets and my effort to win a million in a day was shattered...

Anyway , one way it was good in that now I’ll carefully weigh all the options and try to reach the target -not in a hurry but in leisure...

@Krish...mumbai,

Seems my previous post in this thread has been lost. Anyway, no problem if this is repetition.

I think, I am also equally at fault in being too boorish while addressing you. It does no good to pick up this or that line from my post and go on justifying those lines. It is a fact that, I also should have been more guarded, but went on against you hammer & tongs.

Please accept my regrets. I fully agree that those lines from my side in the posts addressed to you should have been totally avoided.

Happy new Tamil year. Best wishes.

@ksmrow,
Your rating immediately after conclusion of Winter Racing 2016 and current Official Ratings are divergent.Your method of computing Rating based on the Timings Clocked in the few first runs of youngsters ignores the possible improvement of the horse.Secondly the first few runs might have been run at slower pace and hence the Ratings worked out are expected to be on lower side.
I do rating assessment based on Weights and separating distances keeping aside the Timings clocked and the Ratings get modified on a continuous basis.Here Grade of the race plays an important role.Look at Races 230 and 232 of Mumbai won by Themis and Pure Zinc.These 2 races are Grade 3.Both were maidens before this Win and the Ratings will not assigned in the normal of an youngster winning one race.From my study I feel the will be rated for the horses to run in 40-66 class at 57 and 53.Your ratings based on Times Clocked may be quiet low or high.
At 57 it is set to carry 8.5Kg above Bottom Rating of 40 ie 57.5Kg and in 60-85 class it translates to 77 but it has to clock a comparable class 2 timing to live up to this rating.My point is the absolute calibre is measured Timings Clocked and Handicapper's rating is relative to the Handicap Class it will be running.
Thanks.

Well, I assure you also that such harsh language will be avoided in my future postings addressed to you. No hard feelings.

Sincerely Apologise and regret for my mail which touched you deeply...

Yes it is possible to cross more than 3.2l on roll betting...depending on the amount invested...prior race a roll of 10k given to bookie on all the 5 horses will cross more than 3.2l... but while races are on and if your start with 2k and then 2nd one you put the entie amount + additional 2k then the amount exceeds..and likewise if you increase the bet with consecutive races...you might land with more than or near to 3.2l...depends on the individual what is his target and how he is investing.

Raghavan Sir once again sincerely apologise and regret if I hurt you which was not my intention at all from any angle...see personally I dont like to meet people physically and I refrain myself to attend GT's...except one where in 2011 I met KRNath Sir and Sagar Sir...interactions via social media is fair enough.

To be honest..Yes I know him personally and very much down to earth person and some countable good stalwarts...anyway make a note of your mail and will interact in future with very much caution...so that you dont get hurt or disappoint or annoyed...my respect towards you was there...present..and will be there.

@Stop fooling punter,

You were talking about my zero racing knowledge of someone. So, I was under the impression that among horsetalk members there is one person, with a decent level of racing knowledge. Only a member with some decent levels of racing knowledge will be having the confidence & self assurance to point out zero knowledge of other race punters. For men like me, a man with zero racing knowledge, it is always a pleasure to interact with such men, who are treasure house in racing knowledge.

But, it seems your supreme knowledge in racing is a colossal waste because you were not able to answer a simple and direct question from my side. "Is it possible to win 3,28,000 from 2000 on the roll bet of 5 horses". It is better that I do not have any racing knowledge. I am confidently saying that what Chanakya has declared in the lead post is a Himalayan bluff.

Regarding spirituality, I am sure even Chinmayanandas will not come anywhere near you. You say you will be filled with jealousy only in extreme cases. Go through what you have said. I am happy that I have to climb several 1000 steps to attain that level of Sthitha Prajna. I am ordinary punter and will succumb to jealousy even if a fellow punter gains few thousand rupees. But for you it takes much much higher catastrophe to be entrapped by jealousy.

Sunday 9th last race:

7-field fc 2 tickets, 7-field quinella 2 tickets. I do not know him, not saw him buying the ticket either. Yet, when the dividend announcement was being made, there came a big noise nearby. Curious, asked what is the matter. Learnt about the intelligent bet from him. My entire body filled with jealousy.

Some outside justification can be given regarding me being jealous of nearly 6k win to that unknown punter. That gain was real. But I am jealous of Chalukya even for his bogus claim of 3,28 lakh profit.

So absolutely I am in no competition with you in racing knowledge or in spirituality.

@Kris..Mum,

Sometime, somewhere I addressed you as "MR". You declared that all those salutations not required since you are quite younger.

But, why such a partiality? Why are you asking me to be quiet. Have you not gone through whatever adjectives Chanakya has used in his post? How is it that you never felt it necessary to ask him to be quiet?

I am extremely sorry that a youngster has been so brainwashed to such an extent that he tries to brief me about other beautiful things in life and at the same time maintaining a deafening silence in respect of other party.

O K. I will agree to you 100%. Not one whisper on this subject hereafter. On one condition. Just answer this simple question. "DO YOU AGREE WITH THE PROFIT CLAIM OF CHANAKYA ON HIS 5 HORSE ROLL BETS"?

Impartiality. If you want to intervene in a heated debate with the idea of bringing some calmness, then the first thing you should establish is you are impartial.

What is this 'enough...enough...getting bored'? One senior writer is questioning the veracity of a big profit claim of another senior member here. And, that is boring to you?

Just what is your problem. No one has gone to the extent you have gone in asking me to be quiet. Tell me, why are you so embarrassed? And if you say that I am too rash towards fellow punters, and it shall be better if I stay tight lipped, you should at least point out those lines from my writings that appear high handedness from my side.

@Dancing Dynamite: Right. After race bet masters are in big numbers. Their ego, superiority complex compels them to tom tom about their heroics in betting on horses. So much so that even when bookies were on strike, this particular person's bet was accepted by a sheepish bookie!

"Horse race is a cruel game"! Good improvement than what I am repeatedly saying. "NO ONE IS WINNER IN RACING".

IF SOME BODY TRY TO CHALLENGE MY OR YOUR STATEMENT, THEN THEY ARE CHEATING THEMSELVES"

Do not remember seeing your posts earlier. Sorry if I am wrong on that. Can you give a brief profile about yourself?

I was a silent spectator to this thread but ur post force me to respond.
U say that we should not be obsessed with other gains or losses.
Agreed.
But why us chanakya obsessed with giving his gains here. He distorts his betting plan to suit himself.

Okay, I give him a head start of 3.28 lakhs. I challenge him to disclose his betting plan and amount before hand and make one million.

I am very confident on horse racing, that it is a cruel game. Let all see, whether he can beat the game.

We can asses 2/3 yrolds potential after one or two runs for that you must synchronize time clocked and able to read the race properly from all angles, after youngster runs once twice or thrice we can get basic strength of youngster from there further improvement possible unless a set back in training, injury or any physical disorder. @buddy,
Completely agree with you.couple of rolls in a year can't compensate for the rest of the losses,so it's always wise to look for decent profits and consistency plays key role.
I made profits in my early part of racing,enjoyed a lot with those profits.big losses in later years made me realize I can't become a Tata or an Ambani from racing.now my bets are in few thousands and couple of races in a day,I earn decent profits(my loss percentage has come down) and am happily enjoying racing.

NAGATIVE -can be if you are losing money causing you grief in a particular activity and you still try to glorify - its called Addiction BAD one!

POSITIVE- accept that you are losing and on wrong track -feel the need to change track- tackle the problem rather then having a laid back attitude .

The fact is hope of turning around favorably keeps a punter going - chases lost money -will keep going as long as he can manage to get money.

Its like riding a wild tiger you get off the tiger will eat you -you stay on you don't know where the tiger will take and then what will happen!

@Stop fooling punter,

Well said. A man with negative mind set will be a zero in achievement. Whether I like a person or not, will happily agree to the clear cut messages from them as long as such messages are not loaded with contempt & ridicule.

One line from you is more or less the most common thing told by many punters who I have spoken to in the race course. That is their glee, joy and pleasure about their children. Engineer! Seems inside the race course there are too many fathers of engineers. Yours faithfully no exception.

Now regarding negative views. I do fully agree that a person should shake off his negative approach.

But whether you like it or not. You should agree to the harsh realities. Race punters (not one excluded) have taken too many poundings from bookies & tote and it is not easy to dispense with that negative-mindset. If you have succeeded, well and good.

So, you have exorcised that devil of negative mindset and now more than confident of dealing with bookies and beating them in their game. Keep it up.

I have a question to you. You seem confident and reassured about yourself. But, that confidence should be reflected while taking a position in the controversy. I only desire that you should not be evasive.

Whether a person, with a start bet of 2,000 can win 3.28 lakhs by rolling over the five winners. The two speed breakers in this question are (1) J-bomb, 4.50 2nd fav, the only horse that could have given a fight and might have even collared the fav soh was withdrawn before coming under starter's orders. (2) After 4th race of the day, bookies sensing serious trouble closed their business but it was Chanakya's pleasure and fortune that the said bookie was slow to react to the strike call and was late by fraction of a second.

Making some sweeping comments is very easy. "Raghavan is always defeatist. He always finds one or other excuse to ask fellow punters not to bet; or at least bet low. Always thinking that because he is not a winner, he considers all others as losers". The samples of comments frequently addressed to me. As long as such comments are matter of fact, or friendly in nature, no problem.

But, you made an eloquent statement about my negative mindset. You take a position on the current controversy and let me see your confidence level.

Your confidence level should not be restricted to speaking about what Raghavan has said in this site. For the sake of impartiality when a member asks a direct question, you should be sufficiently strong willed to reply.

The 2nd thing is, let us say you declare that you won 3 lakhs today. In that case do you think it is biggest sin to ask you the name of the horse, your bet size and the odds? We people with negative mindset can change our views with greatest ease like a chameleon. No one takes us seriously. But, let me see whether a confident and reassured man can boldly take a no non sense stand.

And your opening line. "Few have made money". To some extent I agree. 0.1% to 0.2 %. The percentage statistics may vary from one person to other. Chaltha hai. To you majority are losers. To me 99.8% losers. For the time being let us not side track the issue on that subject.

My son works from monday to friday nothing but work but on sat spends around rs 2500 on a MOVIE and food,Why because multis charge extra for the week end ]The is is his entertainmnet ours is racing.

Sadly we have too much of a negative mind set.Take Indias achievements ,more praise is heard from people aboard than Indians.

It is not healthy to be negative in life [Be positive think positive,courtsey Anil Kapoor,film No entry]

@Buddy,

We have amongst us a man several rungs higher than myself by whatever consideration. Age, success in school/college, profession, shrewdness and some clarity in locating the winners.

No one would have even thought of questioning his profit claims if he had stated that be backed 5k or 10k or 20k on each of his 5 choices. Similarly no one would have dared any 'apaswara' had he stated that he 'ate' all the 12 favorites.

It is not at all my case that he has not won even a paisa from his bets. My entire objection is about his claim that he started from 1000 or 2000 and the profit swelled to sky heights.

I have proved that he has not won 3.28 lakhs. And see what he is saying about Undisputed. Bookies declared strike. Stalls started closing. And this betting champion was lucky that the said bookie was somewhat not alert to respond to the strike call and delayed closing the stall a fraction of second late; and Chanakya pounced on that split second opportunity and exploited to the full by betting his entire winnings on Lady Seargent on Undisputed at 3/1.

Should there be no limit to self boastings?

And, he tries to rejoice at the apparent double speak from my side in agreeing that there may be a very very negligible percentage of winners.

I can only quote this. "sabko sanmathi de bhagwan".

A senior member, with high level of respect & achievement behind him has downgraded himself to indulge in abusing a fellow ht member just because I minced no words in highlighting the apparent mismatch between his profit claims and the figures as per the calculations.

Theek hai. His latest claim. Instead of protesting that he has gained as he advertised earlier, now states that he is overall a winner.

But, the last thing. "Do I agree with his reduced profit claims"? Absolutely not. Come what may, I do not agree to profit claims from anyone if it is not supported with clear calculations. Let Chanakya protest & scream. Even a toddler will not be impressed. 2 lakh, 3 lakh or 4 lakh may be peanuts to him and by demanding details for such a small profit claim also may be another example of my narrow or negative mindset. But, no problem. Let him first give the details and then talk about my mindset.

I know this much. A majority of punters are not betting their money. 80% of money that is in circulation inside the race course is borrowed funds only. So for Chanakya 2/3/4 lakhs may be peanuts. Not for all.

He used this site to take mileage by claiming big gains. I questioned the details. Of the 12 lay bets. A deafening silence. No problem from my side. In this site I post my views without any expectations. It is for the concerned party to reply or not. If he gives his version, well and good. If he ignores still no problem. If he indulges in histrionics and abuses, they will be returned to sender. Choice is his.

I said unknown to us there may be a minuscule number of punters who have made it big in race course. This is not first time that I said this. I have mentioned several times about a punter earning 46 lakh jp, 97 lakh jp etc.

Unknown to me there may be 100 or even 200. But such minuscule exceptions does not alter the universal constant. In a group of one lakh people collectively referred to as 'punters' 100 or 200 means 0.1% or 0.2%. If Chanakya is thrilled that this is inconsistency from my side, that is no problem to me. Let him enjoy in what he feels as proof of my double speak.

But, it has been that proved his million gain is a big bluff. It has been proved that latest claim of 3.28 lakhs gain is also a big bluff.

Now he is telling that his overall performance during 1 month from 5/3/2017 has given him a good plus.

Anyone can claim profits. In one day's betting or one week's betting or one month's betting. But, such profit claims should be supported with data like horse name, bet amount, odds given by the bookie (tote payout) total returns.

In his latest post also there have been some unnecessary lines. As usual, those also are returned to the sender.

Even now there is no change in my stand that all punters are perennial losers only. A very negligible punters who might have profited does not alter the universal constant. No amount of aggressive talk will give any punter the 'winner' tag.

A jobless writer has proved that a big man, desperately trying to gain publicity has indulged in imaginary profit claims. The onus is on the concerned big man to come with details of his bets and returns if he feels that our disbelief is totally baseless.

We are not discussing the cost of bhel-puri, masala-puri. This discussion is not regarding 50/- or 100/-. When lakhs and millions of profit claim is being made by anyone, then that person should give horsewise gains. Else, such statements do not carry one paisa credibility. Leave alone lakhs & millions.

It is clear as daylight that the big man's bluff has been totally exposed and now he wants us to believe that he is in overall plus during the one month's betting. Let us see what will be his reaction to this post. But, my only expectation from him. Such claim should be supported with details such as horse name, odds, bet amount and returns.

On the other hand, some imaginary equations like 430000 - 20000 - 90000... etc still leave him with a big surplus, then that is his pleasure. Any Primary 2nd standard student can give such equations.

He has stated several times that he has no inclination to continue the talk. I respect his rights. No one is forcing him. Whatever I have written is in response to his posts.

If he uses unnecessary words, lines then also no problem. They will be returned to the sender. Some such lines are in his latest post also. As usual they are returned to the sender. A real pity that a man from a noble service has resorted to use such inappropriate words in his attempt to shout down a dissent note.

A very big bettor can earn million or millions even in one race - but to earn one million from a roll starting from small first bet is improbable!

Outside bookies used to accept a roll of three or four horses before the start of the first race [don't know if they do now] and punter's after many attempts do crack that - but those same punter's are also heavy losers in racing - winning BIG at races on certain days does not make you a overall winner - winning Regularly even if its a small amount will make you you a WINNER - only strike rate matter's to be successful in racing!

@ all,

A clever person trying to remain in lime light says- '... success story of 100 or 200 punters should not be taken as a bench mark...'

'... but a very minuscule number of punters have outsmarted the bookies.'

This man is a! Umpteen times he has claimed 'ALL PUNTERS ARE LOSERS'.

Now he claims that few hundred out of few thousand(roughly 10% to 5 or 1% taking all of his claims at face value) punters DO WIN AND MAKE MONEY!

WHAT A TURNAROUND!

He asked me to give details of how much money I made by eating 12 direct 'losers'. I TOLD HIM HUNDRED TIMES THAT THE DETAILS WERE GIVEN IN THE SAME THREAD WHEREFROM HE PICKED UP THE NAMES OF THE 'LOSERS' AND THEIR ODDS!

HE WILL NOT GO TO THAT THREAD TO FIND OUT MY CALCULATIONS!! WHY SHOULD ANYBODY WORK FOR A 'JOBLESS' WRITER WHO MAY BE TRYING TO EARN HIS LIVELIHOOD FROM THESE WRITE-UPS...

From 5/3/17 to 5/4/17 i have won more than 1.3 lakhs on 5/3/17 and more than 3lakhs(to satisfy 20% cut on first race observers who do not know that the winners went up from 9/10 to 18/10 and ended at published value). At what odds a punters bets is known to him only...
Even if I consider ALL my bets during this period were 'LOSING BETS' any body who has SANITY will accept that 4.3 lakhs - 90,000 - 20,000 or 40,000 or 1,00,000 still LEAVES ME WITH ENOUGH WINNING AMOUNT MORE THAN 2 LAKHS OR 3 LAKHS!

The 'blinds' from the 'Country of blinds'(H G Welles novel) may not see the truth but how can they 'see' because they are blind and can not see...

I totally agree with you Raghavan -In a game of percentage between loser and winner the winner's are invisible very very low maybe less then 1% from big to small winner's. Regular bettor's lose out on other front's also like family life, health, job/business.

Yesterday Chanakya put his first roll bet on the table did not go well so now he should try again. If I or anyone else also put a roll bet out sometime or the other it will click on paper.

He has not mentioned the amount on his first bet maybe he has earlier spoken about a small amount on his first bet - amount on the first bet matter's otherwise even if 3 horses win one can touch a million easily!

I do not dispute that. In this cash rich sport, unknown to both of us there may be 100s who have given many bookies run for their money. And may be enjoying grand life style.

O K. I do not know them. My heartiest greetings to them.

Talent & extra ordinary luck can uplift a man from c/o platform status a proud owner of a flat at posh area in Mumbai. My contention is success story of 100 or 200 punters should not be taken as a bench mark to peddle the theory that people can make money by betting.

Bookies/tote swallow every punter's assets, (will not spare even his loin cloth), but a very minuscule number of punters have outsmarted the bookies.

Raghavan - there are a few punter's I know personally who have won in crores- one has won even more then 100 crores[if you take his properties which has multiplied bought by gambling in races]- look you know only about bangalore ring punter's - talk to the bookies or their men in the ring - they will have a fair idea ..you were never a part of the BIG betting circle or shall I say big league .

If I know a few there will be a few more big winner's - none are in-to roll betting- they just bet 2 to twenty lakh's in the races they want to bet- on some occasion's the bet can go way beyond 20 - ask the right people and get free Gyan!

So ragahvanji is indirectly inviting the race fixers, the bookies, the jockies, the owners to post their selection two hours early so that all the punting community to win accordingly.
But one big question?
Who pays them?

Raghavan said ...

@saddleup

My belief or disbelief is immaterial. If you win 50k or 100k today and declare that in this site, you should be ready to answer the doubt masters. If you are really winner then there shall be no difficulty to face our question. Your replies will be consistent and will stand the toughest cross examination.

We gain nothing by proving what you say right or wrong. But, if you think that by pointing out my losses you can brow beat to silence, then two things are confirmed. (1) you are not a winner (2) you do not know Raghavan.

Then there is fairness & reasonableness. I have asked him more than 20 times to give the bet amount and returns of those 12 lay bets horsewise. A big stonewall tactic. And, no voice even to give horsewise return details of Soh, Mathayus, Oracle.

On the other hand, those who think I am incorrigibly negative are welcome to give their bet amount & horse. Preferably 1 or 2 hours before the start of 1st race of th day. For one month. Not in the current month. Let us say, August. This month 3 more days of Mumbai, then Ooty and some days of Delhi. Not the right month to decide a complicated and controversial issue one way or other.

Till now, Chanakya jee expected that I will be defensive or go silent if he rakes up my losses. That expectation belied. Far from being silent, I openly agree to what he said. If it pleases Chanakya, the I will even agree that I have not won even a single bet in more than 35 years.

Now he is questioning about the home work that I assign to others instead of doing it myself. That is my way of handling things. It might have been far better if I did those things myself; but do not see anything wrong or a big crime to ask a third person to assist me if he is willing. I assign homework to friends in horsetalk. Some time people do not care to reply; sometimes they answer. That is more than sufficient to me.

He said a million plus on 12 lay bets. That bluff I could have easily demolished without taking anyone's help. But, in such matters I always prefer to get the figures from some experienced hands, well versed in the subject. I feel this is not anything that one should object. Perhaps when an impartial person reputed for his fairness & no non sense approach intervenes, that shall add some extra seriousness & interest to the debate.

Chanakyajee, as long as every bettor is only loser no one will take offence to your pointing out my losses.

The only way you can hold on to your bank balance is to stop betting. There are 100s of erstwhile bettors who have understood this harsh reality and have either reduced their bets to barest minimum or given up totally. These are the ones who deserve awards for honestly admitting to their faults and attempting course correction.

Anybody claiming winnings is millions after the races are welcome to stay in the fantasy world of their own creation. I do not agree even for argument sake the claims of anyone who is in betting for years and still a winner.

Do you or any of your team members know if Chanakyaji has ever won a contest for a season or even stated on top of the winners list for a few weeks?

Would appreciate if anyone gave this info...

Thanks,

So Chanakya jee has understood why I say no one is a winner in races. Even the best bettor, has his limitations. Even the worst bettor has his occasional day of plus. Overall when it is time to prepare the balance sheet, everyone, whether supremely talented or a hopeless fresher find that the total returns always lower than the total investment.

That is what I am saying from day 1. No one is a winner in races. Of course, there is always a provision for some minuscule exemptions. Say the one film lyricist Rajinder Krishna or the one who won 97 lakh jackpot when Noble Eagle won the derby. But examples of such exceptionally lucky persons should never be generalised or taken as a benchmark.

All punters are perennial losers only!

Rather amusing that a senior member is annoyed at mere mention of this universal constant. O K. That is his pleasure. But no amount of objection can alter this universal constant of the punters. That is, they are all perennial losers.

Anyone who tip 100 winners in a season where 300 races are run are good tipsters. 1/3rd to 40% strike rate is a very good achievement by prevailing standards, and any person who achieves that much deserves high applause. But, when anyone audits the investment and returns of even such exceptional punter also will notice that he is also in the majority only. Not a face in the crowd!

If anyone, just to get some attention among horsetalk members comes with lakhs and millions of profits claim, then he also should be bold and confident enough to answer some simple queries. If not inclined to answer those simple queries, then that is nothing but admission that the statement he has given is only theoretical possibility and the readers are well within their right to not to give any credence to such statements.

Again, I do not have any objection to his pointing finger at me that I am a perennial loser. That point I have admitted several times. At the same time, I know very well that he is sailing in the same boat.

Is there any chance of myself relaxing the fixation that every punter is a perennial loser? As things stand, no! Anyway, if there are exceptional punters who have won decent amount in spite of being in the betting business for at least 1 year, he is welcome to prove me wrong. But in a credible manner. By telling his bets in advance and then giving the horsewise returns. Not by fudging the figures.

Even a punter with less than a week in betting knows that there will be reduction in the liability of bookies if 1st , 2nd or 3rd favorites are withdrawn during the last minute before starting orders. Even then coming with a profit statement without giving any margin to this basic rule, then we all know for sure that what is stated after the race is totally false.

The problem with some seniors here is that they believe no one has any understanding of the betting rule/s. Well. Let them believe whatever that is convenient to them.

There are some other unwanted lines in the post that are not accepted and they are returned to the sender.

"Starting with initial bet of 2000 on SOH (16/10), Math 65/100, Oracle 6/4, gave me Rs. 20,250 (minus tax). I would like you to do an audit scrutiny about this cash inflow. And please remember that Jager Bomb was withdrawn before coming under starters orders.

Starting bet, odds etc given by Chanakya only.

If you have some high respect of Chanakya, that is your pleasure.

Next,

Can you tell us how much money he has earned during the last 28 months (Since Jan 2015), OR at least how much money he has earned during the last 40 days (from 1st March 2017).

Jealousy? You see, everyone including perennial loser can prove that he has gained million by posting horse name, odds and start bet in excel sheet. So no question of jealousy.

@Confused punter,

What is your average bet per horse per day. Can you bet 2 lakhs, 3 lakhs etc on a horse recommended by Raj or a trainer or a jockey. If you can give your daily betting limit, pattern etc then I can say whether your dna accepts botox injection or not. Right now, the only person with proper dna to receive botox is Raj! And he does not need that.

@Krish..Mum

So, according to you Chanakya is great because he is ex Air force officer, has won several medals & awards (for bravery, for big service he has rendered etc).

I also agree to that statement. For you Chanakya may command high level of respect because of his high grade in the army, awards, medals; but for me even a foot soldier commands equal respect.

The only difference between you and me is, I know very well that even if 100 Chanakyas join hands together, they can not make 2 plus 2 equals 5. Whether 2nd standard drop out does that calculation or a Doctorate does the calculation, 2 plus 2 is always four.

So whether he is ex military or a civilian, Karodpathi or Bhavathi Bhiksham dehi, inside the race course his bet of 2000 @ 1.60 odds is subject to discount on account of withdrawal of 2nd fav. No one is exempted from operation of that rule. Neither Chanakya, Nor Almighty.

If you are not inclined to agree even to this basic, then that is a real pity. Flattery should have some limits.

O K. There are some up votes; some down votes to Chanakya's claim of 3.28 cr plus. Chanakya tried to shout down all dissent noises by bad mouthing. Well. He need not have taken that much trouble. We are not accepting such inappropriate words and they are returned to the sender.

Now, regarding your counsel : Invite bookies and you can also win in thousands.. thousands... thousands..

I am tired of hearing this kind of talk. You relocate to BNG. And bet to your hearts content at the tote. Five and half months. (BNG summer, Hyd monsoon, Pune, Kolkata monsoon, Mysore summer). And, check out your actual gains and the notional gains that you would have made by betting with the bookies.

condition: minimum 100 days of betting. minimum 2 bets a day.

You will also understand that it is not Chanakya alone who knows what he is talking. Raghavan also knows equally well what he is talking.

And the 2nd important thing : What made you to believe that I desire to shake off the perennial loser tag and desire to upgrade myself as winner in thousands and thousands.

And thirdly: all punters are perennial losers only. Chanakya may be drum beating that he is an exception. But, I have seen 100s of people like him. I do like to know whom he is trying to fool with his win claims! In a message to Anuj he speaks of his big gains from 1st March 2017 to 2nd Apr 2017. I know this much. Races were running at India much earlier to 1st March 2017. And he is talking about gains only from that date. It seems all bettings from him before that date are Govindaaa..Govindaaa

And even from 1st March 2017 we have only his word for that profit claim. Horsetalk site is there, He can post his millions of gain on a daily basis. But, one thing. Till now he underestimated Raghavan. Hereinafter Raghavan also will post his gains in the same thread on a regular basis. Much higher gains than that of Chanakya's. And Raghavan does not require 2200 OB. Just 1000 enough!

Chanakya says that he does not desire to talk to naysayers. It seems only those who are rallying behind him are good enough for him to have a chat. We also are not that much starved of speakers. If Chanakya does not talk to us, then Amathya Rakshasa or Chandra Guptha Maurya will talk to us.

Can you give the number of winners Ranvir Bose has tipped.

EVERYBODY SHOULD LOOK AT THIS MAN'S CROOKEDNESS DISGUISED IN A QUESTION -which is NOT A REQUEST EVEN!

Asking Venkat to give number of winnerS out of 231 races run so that he can CALCULATE what is the win %!
Next he will ask the odds offered on the winners and try to prove that inspite of winning the title he may not have given positive ROI! THERFORE HE IS NO GOOD!!!

instead of doing his homework himself , the clever crook catches unsuspecting individuals to do 'his ' home work! A real clever idea!

who stops him doing his home work before putting his stupid observations ans assertions. Laziness, chance to use other unsuspecting punters to do do his home work and the abilityto fool and misguide others- because any monkey who cn write legibly in english is read - irrespective of the trash he spews out...

Next he will come out WITH his 'rusted' opinion that no one can win at races...
YES MORE THAN 90 % PUNTERS DO NOT WIN BUT THOSE WHO WIN MOVE OUT WITH WADS OF INDIAN CURRENCY OR A SMILE ON THEIR FACE- BECAUSE THEY CAN COLLECT THEIR MONEY ON MONDAY; MOCKING THESE PERENNIAL LOSERS...

@others,
What chanakya has stated might be true,I have witnessed such heroics before.In the long run I have also realized rolling over entire winning amount is not a wise decision.All those heroes who were rolling their entire amount is not seen in races nowadays,some are still coming but their bets are in a few hundreds nowadays.

Krish...Mumbai,

Madhusudan has given calculations. Krish also.

But the final figure arrived at as per their calculations varies with the profit claim of Chanakya.

A military retired man will get his respects due at any functions, meetings. But, in the horsetalk site, to me the 63 lakh winner Raj and 2 cr loser are one and same. Retired Inspector General of Police and a fellow who has served his prison sentence are same to me. After his retirement he is civilian like all of us in 95% of issues. May be he gets some goods at subsidised rates at some military shopping centers. And, there he can really talk of his high performances in the war field and claim extra attention. In this site he should be prepared to be a common man.

You are taking side with Chanakya. Absolutely no wrong in that. You are not the only one. But, others have not gone to the extent you have gone. The first roll bet on three horses (2000 roll on 3 horses) can not give 20,250 profit to any punter. If you want to gloss over even this much of a fact, then I do not know how you can take over the role of an umpire. It is extreme high handedness on your part to bring in chappals, pajama dimensions.

Just tell me one thing. How many posts from Chanakya are available on this thread. 5 lines calculations. He could have just given those calculations. Matter would have been closed.

I do agree that there may be 100s of negligent statements from my side. Anyone who points out those lines along with brief reasons are assured of one thing. No ifs & buts. I will take back what I said. But not the crackpot stuff that in spite of withdrawal of 2nd favorite, the bookies paid the contracted amount to the bettor in full without any deduction.

You are telling that Chanakya knows what he is talking. So be it. But in what way you conclude that I do not know what I am talking. Whether 2nd standard drop out, or top officer in military or retired IGP. Everyone are equal in the horse site. And arithmetic is same.

Bade log tho ve hothe hain jo doosron ko chhota nahin samajhthe! (A big man is one who does not consider others as small) If Chanakya is so great let that be demonstrated in his writings. It is his calculations that started this debate. 2000 roll bet gave him 20,250. Let him give details of amount in his account after the success of every horse. In spite of his refusal to answer this simple query, and, if you still give credence to his statement rather than my objection, then continue such questionable partiality.

One basis priniple of horses betting some are forgetting is the term ''BOOKMAKER''

He balances the books if one wins some one else has to lose for the pay up.

The clubs play 100% safe in their tote system and can never lose money at best will refund you your bet at par.

Today thnigs have changed dramatically but some are stil living 10 yrs behind.
Let me tell you about cricket betting 5 yrs back the rate difference that is backing or bar betting was 15 paisa today it is 5 paisa .
Now you multiply by lakhs and see the loss the current cricket bookies are under going,but are still carrying on with reduced profits.

Some of the bookies having made lakhs in racing few years back are not willing to change hence paid the price.
The change has taken place that no longer an out standing horse at less than evens is being pulled and wins.

So if some one is winning some one has to lose,Sadly the losers here are in majority and not willing to accept their drawbacks.

It is story of life in every phase ,so just relax and enjoy racing like I do.Limited centers ,limited betting and most important ''NO CREDIT''

No doubt some may argue less profits but I am happy

They work up to 80 hours a week, and travel widely to attend racing events. Her report further states , Pro Punters are an elite group of highly disciplined and well educated, who work extremely long hours to have the very best chances of winning,and they prefer fixed odds and bet win-place combination over Exotic bets. They bet very selectively and believe that patience, fewer bets, good contacts,and an in_depth understanding of all the factors are the mainstays of winning over the long term. So forget about any crude method like using numbers , planets, names while race betting.

@ Raghavan
My other good win was RS 40 laks on Majestic last year.The fav was 60/100 and Majestic was at 4/1. I bet directly with bookie at his home.
@ others
Iam not the kind who will play 1 or 2 laks.
Kindly go to Bangalore race course and ask anyone for name Raj.(not my real name)Just for bookie same.
Neither I live in India. I visit course hardly for 3 weeks in a year. I was present when Bullrun won after continental collapsed which was 1 lenth behind.All my bets are on phone. Txs to indiarace.com. Iam always on up to date.
Neither my judgement of horse is clouded by odds or horse condition, or jockey or trainer or most impt ODDs.
If I decide a horse I never change my opinion.Nor can I bcz of time difference..
Since iam not present most of the time at course iam not influenced by odds which gives huge profit some times.
Who cares someone believes me or not. What matters always is MY bank balance!!!!!!!
Never in my life I have played less than 3 laks.
Not that I always win. But iam on upper side.
It requires nerve which 99% punters lack.
I played sergeant at arms @ 30 paise at Mysore sitting thousands of miles away and lost 5.50 laks. I did not know it was at cramped in odds.I was expecting 75/100.
So life goes on.
Taking home 15/20 laks in a day is not difficult. At the same time loosing 5 laks is also that easy.
Good luck. I need no kudos or brickbats. After its my life ,my money ,my brain and more than anything My NERVE.

"Finally I am not interested for further interaction". You have the right of expression. And right of expression means right of silence also.

Whether I won 2 lakh , 3 lakh or 4 lakh is immaterial. No naysayers have won!

One such naysayer can confidently say that he has not lost 90k in a day.

This race & betting is not one day affair or one week affair. I know whatever you won on Invitation cup was lost in less than a week. 2nd most important thing is we have thoroughly proved your 3.28 lakh gain is a big bluff. You have exhausted all excuses and now trying to tell us about the odds movement during the 15-20 minutes of cash flow!

The odds movement is a routine thing at any center. But, that is not applicable in your case. Because, the odds in roll bet were settled when you handed to the bookie 2200.

You have opened the thread. And you are not interested to continue the talks. But, I am not that much of sanyasi. I will continue talking about racing matters to the extent my zero knowledge permits. With like minded people.

We welcome those who want to give their inputs. And respect the right of those who desire to remain silent.

In short the power to go 'up or down' lies with the individual and his decision/action - by raghavan's or my castigation chanakya's fortune is not going to change - its a debate with logic and common sense[from our side] - I have not seen consistent regular tipping by chanakya -someone did mention once when couple of his horse wins he talks about roll bet after that - he should announce the start of his bet and walk us till the end [million] .

Not that I have any interest in all this but if I were in his shoes I would tackle it this way clear every ones doubt - horse 1 to 1 million walk the talk .

@ Anuj,

You have a point. I used long ago perhaps few years ago before the advent of the prolific 24X7 writer, the same phrase - crabs in a bowl, in a similar situation. The mentality of those who can not win regularly at races, to offset the losses, incurred during a period, say - a month, a season or over a year, will remain the same over the years, decades and perhaps centuries... It can not change, because all their thinking revolves around the perception that if they can not win, how is it possible for some one else to do it?

But they forget that a 13 year old girl and a handicap can also climb mount Everest now; which was almost impossible, few days before, the coronation of the present queen of England.

My intention during last few months was to emphasise that with a sound handicapping system backed by a improvised betting strategy a punter can win from races which have been proved by my bets made between 1st. March 17 to 2nd. April 17.
long ago a book was published by an Australian punter - name I am forgetting, how he won $ 3000 per month with details of the bettings. It was a best seller in 20th. century. I don't know how many of you have read it.It is possible to live on the earnings of races - provided you know how to do it, is my conviction...

Wasting time with these, worthies is a 'criminal offence' and I hereby refuse to do it...

Let them keep on barking on the wrong tree...

It makes no difference as to anyone who wins or loses - if anyone try's to show their smartness it should be done in a very transparent manner otherwise don't do it -if there are loop holes it will become debatable - crab like mentality? for what -pulling someone down over here how?? -Nobody has any control on anyone-so pulling anyone UP/Down can never come into play!

In racing punter's keep a low profile - they don't like to beat the drum and announce if they win big - only some con men at the course try to show they are smart it gets them free hits time to time - sometimes they get some cash if the tipping goes well - the genuine players go about their betting in a quite manner.

@Anuj,

Agreed we are all no match to Chanakya in the matter of selecting winner. Or in his boldness to bet 10k/30k or lakhs. We may have to wait for 10 more rebirths (janmas) to even bet 5000 on a 8/1 shot. And, most of the time we end up penny-wise, pound foolish. Betting 500 on Oracle and 2500 on Nascar.

But that does not makes us 'crabs in the bucket'. I do not subscribe to the logic that a man should not at all declare his wins in this site. What I say is such claims should be consistent with the rules and regulations of betting.

It is 4 horse field; the favorite at 16/10; the only horse that could have scared the favorite or even won at 4.50 was j-bomb. That was withdrawn during the last few seconds before the start. Even then if someone says that he got 5200 for his 2000 bet (16/10) do you say that we should not express our doubt or dissent. In what way, the crab analogy is appropriate here?

If you agree with what Chanakya has said, that is your will & wish. Your pleasure. By all means convey your cheers. As things stand there are many who agree with Chanakya. But my point is 'crab' reference is totally unwarranted in the issue under discussion. I certainly do not agree that so many people who pooh poohed Chanakya in this site deserve such a comparison.

@Chanakya,

You said Good March each way, Tororoso & temerity, Shivalik shower place.

(Chanakya said 3/5/2017 12.32.15pm).

You meant Bold March, but in hurry typed Good march. No one questioned that.

You said Good march each way, but backed it 1000 win only. No one challenged you on that inconsistency.

I am Raghavan, but you once addressed me as Raghunath. I myself did not bothered to highlight it.

Raj said Running bull. I checked & found out that it is Bull run. I did not questioned Raj.

We will take everything that you say without doubting the veracity. As long as it looks correct on paper at least.

You said on 8th that 1000 * Bold march * (8300)* Shivalik place* (33200) Tororoso/Temerity 16600 each. This I did not questioned,because I cross checked and found out that there was no mismatch in what figures I arrived at and what you claimed.

But, that is not the case with your dozen lay bets and the latest claim of 328000. At least I do not worry one way or other about the actuals, if the bets that you said , odds thereon and returns tally.

There can not be error. Because, if you tender cheque for 3575, the bank teller will not pay you 3600. Similarly if bookies liability is 4560, then he will not pay you 5200. This is a cash matter and there can not be any difference in what you arrive at & what I work out.

This inconsistency or mismatch can be clarified by only one person. Yourself. Had you explained how you got 20,250/- as payout for your 1st instalment of roll bet and how much you risked in your next two bets, then the matter would have been closed then & there.

Instead you are telling, "I do not want to continue the talk; I won; that is all". If that is your approach in putting an end to this controversy, then absolutely no problem from our side. You are welcome to tell how your 2000 increased to 20,250 in three bets; what were your bets on next two horses, and how you got 3.28 lakhs take home and that will be a resounding slap to each and everyone who are questioning your claim of plus. On the other hand, if you desire not to answer the queries at all, then also we will agree to the point that it is not binding on your part to answer us. Choice is yours. Decision is yours.

One thing you please understand, you as a senior member and as an ex-defence person you carry a lot of aura. If you want to throw away all those things & if you want to dismantle all the respect & credibility that you command, that is your problem. Not any one else's.

The fact as told to me by my bookmaker.

MUM bookies closed down after 4th race due to heavy losses to line operators runnnig in many lakhs.
In Delhi line operators were active till last race. Delhi bookies also suffered heavy losses purely due to their myopic running of books.
In Del majority of punters walked off plus.
Chanakaya One request to you,please do not write here regarding your money and profit.It is yours and no one can deny it.

@Chanakya
Ur success seems unbearable to many here.... U are the only achiever, I can say in this era of Indian Horse Racing who can make the Turf Totes n Bookmakers sweat..!!! There're many instances when favourites won but Bookies profited as usual due to nonutilization of opportunities by punters.. No one here has the guts to play not only Flukes... but even hot favourites.. Only boast here of chances of upset... They never play even favourites...

Congrats Chanakyaji for being a pathway for all of us... For throwing light on HOW INDIAN RACES ARE TO BE PLAYED...

@ to all,
The odds on a runner open about 15 to 20 minutes before the race is run. They are not static. The race cards and the websites publish odds close to race time only without showing any fluctuations. They keep on changing , at least on first 3 or 4 favorites in a race and either go up or come down depending upon the betting. For example, at Mumbai, odds on Star of Harmony opened at 9/10 , kept on moving up to 17/10 and closing oddsPUBLISHED were 16/10. Same is the case with every race run anywhere.
If I say that I got 7/2 for Lady Sergeant and 13/4 for Undisputed, these naysayers will jump out of their boots. Many times my betting was at lower odds than the closing odds and many times it was higher than the closing odds. Anybody , who actually bets with bookmakers will agree.
Therefore , whether I won 3,28,000 or 4, 23,000 or 2,80,000 is immaterial. I won and that’s all.
None of the naysayers have won on this day of opportunity – I am sure about it...

@Raj,
You won 63 lakhs on a winner which you can not even name correctly is very strange...
To save you the embarrassment your friend has given the correct name , quietly, without any comment...

Finally, I am not interested for further interaction on this because if somebody closes his eyes and proclaims it is night and refuses to see the daylight , it is his problem – not mine...

Oct 11, 2015. Pune Derby won by Bullrun. Odds 9/1.

@Krish,

Such a simple matter. That is roll bet on 5 horses. Odds we know. First bet we know. And even then so much confusion! A good number of punters do not know how it works. Whenever a horse is withdrawn.

Anyway, no problem. Let one or two more give their calculations. One thing that I know is, it can not be 3.28 lakhs.

@Madhusudan,

By the current standards in racing, one has to consider himself lucky if his choices place in three races in a row. But, the five horses scored direct wins.

The first bet in the series. SOH. 2000 @ 1.6. I want a small clarification.

Because of j-bomb w/d, bookies liability be reduced by 20%. In the subject under discussion you have worked out the effective odds after discount at 1.40. Your logic seems to be 20% means 0.2, so 1.6 minus 0.2 = 1.4. But my understanding is quite different. Bookies effective odds will be 80% of 1.60, that is 1.28. So, the cash available for next bet is Rs. 4,560. (2000+ 2560). Can you sort out this confusion?

Chanakya has declared, "Believe it or not, I backed, I won & no more talk". Right. Let us not drag him in this discussion against his will. If he comes on board and gives his version well and good. But if he does not, absolutely no problem. We can put 2 & 2 together.

What I want to know is only arithmetical calculations. What would have been the correct receipts if a punter tenders 2200 (2000 bet & 200 tax) to a bookie for 3 horse roll and then continues to roll on two more horses.

Though the calculations given by you looks good, there is no harm if you redo it. Can you take that much extra trouble?

I guess, Chanakyaji has coded betting understanding with booky or bookies: 1+9

His initial bet 2000, he pays 200 tax to booky’s pocket and 42 Gov. tax. (The tax should be 420@21. He pays 10% which is illegal and proudly announce in HT).

He bet 2000 + (tax200+42) on SOH (16/10) and wins. His return should be 5200.

Next bet, 4600 + (tax460+96) on Math (65/100) and wins. His return should be 7590.

Next bet, 6800 + (tax680+143) on Oracle (6/4) and wins. His return should be 17000.

Next bet, 15000 + (tax1500+315) on L Serg and wins. His return should be 63750.

Next bet, 56000 + (tax5600+1176) on Undisp and wins. His return should be 224000.

328000 – 224000 = 104000?

For the difference 104000, he is the right person to answer.

Thanks.

Great!

I knew that there are many people at Delhi/Bombay to whom betting 50k/1 lakh or 2 lakh is like we people betting 2000 to 10000. But your bet of 7 lakhs is really to be applauded. Once in a way, I have seen people betting 1 lakh/ 2 lakh or 3 lakh etc. here at BNG. But most of such bets were on favorites horses like Be safe, Amazing Grace, In th spotlight etc. Not on a 9/1 shot!

O K. Any other grand show by you thereafter or before?

@Crk,

Your philosophical approach to the issue deserves grand applause.

But, the entire lot of horsetalk members are not that mature to appreciate the merits or demerits of what you say. I do not know about others. I can talk about myself. My level of maturity is the lowest among horsetalk members.

So crk sir, please do not take high moral grounds. In the lead post is the claim from a senior member. That he made 3.28 lakhs from 2000.

You first say whether you believe what he says or not. And if your reply is 'yes', then just give the 5 line calculation. All naysayers will follow the rule "speech is silver, silence is gold".

You believe this forum is for racing matters. You have a feeling that the forum is being used (or being misused) for some matters other than racing. Well, I do not have much to say about that. There is a competent admin to decide on that.

My belief is slightly different from that of yours. I believe this site is for racing matters primarily and some trivia which may be interesting but strictly does not come under racing matters.

Now coming to the first para in your post:

It is my firm understanding that every punter is a loser. The betting rules, the odds etc is heavily loaded against the punters. And there is no way he can win and win. So, I get irritated whenever some nil battey sannattas come on this site and declare their huge winnings. People like you are really wise, having a philosophical and maturity level very high and do not waste time to question such claims.

But, that is not the case with us.

If you can just laugh and carry on without wasting one minute about the claim of huge win by one Mr X, then I request you just one thing. Be impartial. Just laugh and carry on without wasting one minute about the responses to the claims of Me X also.

@ All,

Seriously,how does it matter to anyone of us,if someone wants to declare his bets from the rooftop.True or false,it is just none of our business.Why do we have to discuss this threadbare,as if our lives depended on proving it either way.

The other site hit a century in reactions, we are trying to replicate the same here--all on one man's proclamation. He may have his reasons for doing so, that is his issue-maybe loving all the attention.

Let us get on with our lives-and racing.This forum, I believe is for racing matters specifically,and not someone bets-or the arithmetic or the calculas inherent in it.

A good contest has been so painstakingly designed by BKD totally related to racing--the reaction and response were not so forthcoming as this one has generated.It is a sheer waste of time and precious bandwidth to react to such declarations by anyone-true or false is besides the point.

@Krish,

Right.

I desire that you should point out the lines where I have spoken like Advocate General or Attorney General.

Tell me those lines. I will happily take back all those statements.

In this dispute, you are welcome to take sides. If you feel that Rs. 2000/- can be converted to 3.28 lakhs by his 5 horse roll bet you are welcome to give your calculations. If you can show that what Chanakya said is possible, then my 100 apologies to the senior member.

Horse name is available. Odds are available. Only thing required is 5 line calculations.

It is not only me. There are many others who are questioning Chanakya. Can you just give your reasons in demanding from me whether I am advocate General or Attorney General. In all fairness, you should have asked the same question to all others who are not agreeing to the huge profit claim of Chanakya.

@buddy,

Your post looks more reasonable. O K. I have said what I wanted to say. And, will be more than happy to stop. Provided, others do not address any comments, questions to me. If some one x, y or z puts any question to me, certainly I will be replying to him.

Krish asked me some questions. Do you expect that I should not reply to that?

And you say we should be sympathetic to Chanakya & friends. Well. What do you mean by "be sympathetic"? Next week some one else comes with the claim of 20 lakh profit in 4 days. Should we be just applauding such punters?

All punters are losers only. A broken clock also shows correct time twice a day. Similarly, punters also get correct horses once in Poornima or Amavasya. Let them by all means declare their joy here. Normally, I do not question if such statements look prima facie genuine. Else, such questions are sure to pop up. If not from Raghavan, then from Venki-Nani-Seeni.

Look its no big deal to keep posting and once in a while get 4 or 5 straight winner and show the route to winning a million it can be done by many here but its like playing mind game's!

The impossible part is a small bettor does not have the guts to do the big bet in the later stage will not roll full after 2 horses - its easy to say on paper and can be proven on paper.

Many here have given 4 or 5 winners in 'one day' all they had to do was play the number game gave it a name 'roll bet' ....

One roll bet on paper passes- you can become a Paper Hero/Tiger otherwise you don't lose much - Its a new idea for our ever green BKD 'kaun banega crorepati' with a roll bet!

I do not believe him. And, I do not think that is wrong either.

The dispute is whether 2000 can be converted to 3.28 lakhs by rolling 5 horses at the odds mentioned. I have my reasons for doubting this claim.

Now, I will speak out the reasons for my disbelief. In the first bet in the series, 2000 bet will give returns of 5200 (including your 2000). But, with J-Bomb declared non starter, the bookies liability shall be reduced and the punter will have to be satisfied with the discounted payment only. In that case, how the bets and returns can be worked out with 5200 as base from the 2nd bet onwards?

These things are common in Racing .. which we call uncertainties:

1. Horse getting slowly off - on which we bet;

2, Horse drawing away and jockey falling near the Winning Post again on which our bet stands;

3. Accidents , horses dislodging riders and the horses getting injured and put to Rest taking away our fortune too.

4. Eliminating one horse from our earlier planned frame for the sake of saving few hundred rupees - which actually wins at fabulous odds - and our subsequent selected horses winning at huge odds and the other legs of ours getting passed, again with many outsiders and the jackpot getting carried over;

5. Horse winning and getting disqualified in Stewards Room;

You and me have come across such bad lucks time and again in the past. Hence, it will be better if you silently swallow the unforeseen happenings without sharing in this forum , getting disappointed with HT guys opinion, adding insult to injury.

Dont expect anyone to share your woes. This world will be with only strong and mighty !!!

Some bookies indeed stopped taking bets after 4th race at Mumbai. I am not myself sure whether a very small group stopped their function or a large number of bookies closed their stalls. But, this much is a fact. All the bookies did not function after the 4th race.

It appears other centers carried on without any let up.

You can also check up with the rwitc site. Browse the result page. Whereas odds given by bookies are given for the races 1 to 4, for races 5,6 & 7 the odds column is left blank.

Bookies do take lay bets but its not directly taken instantly. For eg. If I go yo a bookie to lay 2 lakhs on a certain horse, my bookie will open rate of my choice. If some other comes and bet on that bookie, he will pass the bet to me.

But no bookie will like to take lay bet for a punter who bets just 2000 rs. For that less lay amount, u have to shout like a street vendor, in the ring.

Delhi has about 10 line operators [mobile phone men with contacts in BNG, pune/ MUM and CHENNAI].they pay rs 5000 as moblie charges every day

There is a constsnt betting on with rate difference and the same man at times backs 3to4 horses in one race[their only job is rate difference between the two racing centers].

On sunday this carried on till the last race .it would not have been possible if MUM bookies were on strike because two leading MUM bookes are very active in Delhi betting.All line operators would have also gone off.this did not happen

No doubt they lost heavily but as they say life carrys on.

Now I leave it for you to judge the facts. I am sure some one from MUM can clarify this.

I browsed through horsetalk column...( Mumabai Race selections for 2nd April)... but no where I could see your selections in the first instance!!!.. I dont know where you have mentioned your selections.( Is it in any other site other than I.R.com ? ) Mr.No Nonsense has rightly pointed out in your post ( again I will tell..WHERE IS THAT POST ) there is no mention of Master of Trinity!!!.. Aap Kisko Bewakoof banana chahthe hain ?No this is not fair to boost like this after the races.
Even before also your posts in I.R.Com would be in the end ( what I mean is just when the 1st race is about to start or around that time ) What I feel normally on an average a punter would get ready and leave his place about 1 hour before the 1st race ( this may vary depending on how far his place is from the race course )..( Any posts written in the last 1 hour before 1st race time may or may not be viewed by all HT members) Now if anyone wants to help the fellow punter in horsetalk column he should post the selections at least around 2 hours before the 1st race so that we would have enough time to glance through the site before getting ready to leave.
That way Mr.Chanakyaji, forget about Europe trip ( or Badlapur Trip ).. my request to you is if you really want to help your fellow punter in horsetalk,please post your selections at least about 2 hours before the race time so that all of us can have the opportunity to go through your selections. The whole purpose of this site is to help your co-punter isnt it?

First Chanakya came out with the concept of lay bets.

He then roared that he made a million by 'eating' 12 horses in a time gap of 10 days.

Then he said we can win millions by applying astrology on horse racing.

I think no one made millions on his astrology tips. In fact, it was yours faithfully who was too vocal against that idea. If there is any astrology based tips that clicked, and profited millions to anyone, definitely Voice of America, British Broadcasting Corporation would have taken note of it and would have interviewed the person for minimum 1 hour.

Then this missed opportunity of converting 2000 to ten lakh.

His age, & his service in defence has put some kind of sentimental blockade to many who would have savaged anyone else for such bundlebaaz writings.

ANYWAY, ONE THING I AM HAPPY.

The great Vivek Jain praised bookies. What he said about the bookies before the beginning of current Mumbai season will put the biggest chamcha, jalra to shame. Anyway, it is proved that racing will not stop just because bookies are not there. Grandma's rooster is not a must for daily Sunrise.

@No non sense,

In such issues, it would have been doubly fine if you had given the calculations in three lines that too horsewise.

Of course, we do not require the assistance of Srinivasa Ramanujan for this.

The horsewise calculations (notional):

2000 @ 1.60, won, 5200
5200 @ 0.65, won, 8580
8500 @ 1.50, won,21250. Less initial bet of 2000. 19250 gain.

But, my doubt is will any bookie will pay the punter 5200 on the first bet?

He definitely will be allowed some discount because the only horse that was the danger to SOH was withdrawn.

It was 03.04.17, Monday afternoon 1.30 at hyderabad

I started from home carrying 1500/- in my pocket to the nearest tote (15-20mts) journey from home. Reached tote, took OVEL book (a new yellow one in Hyd available for Rs.10/). As it costed Rs.10/- I thought I will play 10 in first race, as I had only 1500/- with me, I played 500/- win, wow, it won and I was on Cloud Nine, in few mts there was an objection, my heartbeat stops for a moment. After few minutes, objection was over ruled and I got a payment of 4500/-. Just then an Idea struck in my mind that in irht, everybody talking about roll bets, why not me as I thought of it, one fellow punter came with a newspaper and there was a big news, so I rolled entire amount on Big News No.2 also in 2nd race, to my good luck it won in start to finish, giving returns of 55/- for win, I got 49500/- then I thought I will take a break and will have tea and ask my friends about rolling the entire amount in another race.

So I missed the 3rd race, In the fourth race, while searching for the winner in the book, I got struck that Mukesh Kumar is a Hyderabad based jockey and being a Hyderabadi I should roll it on him and win for the Hyderabad jockey's sake, I rolled the entire amount on Yalamlam ridden by Mukesh, No surprise it won and I was feeling like Bill Gates, as it gave me (44 for win) 435600/-

I was about to return, my girl friend called me, She was very trustful girl, hence I thought I will take a chance of 35600/- on Trustful girl in next race, wow what a fantastic day, again I got back 448560/- and with the balance already with me it was around 848560/- now, Then I thought oh it is a great day of luck for me and keeping a profit of 500000/- aside I played the entire balance of 348560/- on Mukesh Kumar again in 6th race Man Malhari again it won, to make me richer by 3137040/-

Then I thought it was indeed a good day for me and I am on top of the world feeling like a King and played entire returns on Top King, and my money doubled into 6274080/- + 5lakhs which I kept aside

Wow then I returned home by booking my New Audi and got sweets for my family and neighbours and thought of taking my all relatives to shopping to buy whatever they wanted, and I was about to take bath before going to shopping, suddenly water poured in my face and my mom was waking me up, chalo jaldi udo, duty ko jaane ka nahin hai kya and I lost entire amount I got in my dream in seconds

Kya Mummy abhi udana tha kya, you must have waited till atleast that Audi car reached our home, I was thinking like that

Here comes the bluff-master again! Anybody can say they rolled their bets and made a few millions, especially on a day when favs obliged in almost all races, giving a few tips does not mean that the player will roll his entire winnings, not many have that mindset, many would pocket the winnings after 2 roll bets pass, especially if the sum is good.

SO Harmony, Mathaiyus,Oracle - win each and roll.
Lady Sejeant&Undisputed -Double.

from the above it is clear he has mentioned roll on 3 horses, SOH, Mathiayus & Oracle and as per him it yielded a return of 20,250 minus tax, whereas the return should be 19,250!! First mistake. Then he goes on to add that he rolled this winning onto Lady Sergeant and onto Undisputed but missed out on the million because he could not roll all this onto MOT, bookies playing spoilsport. He clearly states that LS and Undisputed were part of a separate double nothing to do with the first roll bet. Also, there is no mention of Master of Trinity in his earlier choices, how conveniently it enters the picture.

I guess the bookmakers went on a strike because they did not have the million to pay Mr Chanakya. He has no selections for Saturday's races wherein fav after fav won and people on ptr had 5 tommies, they could have also boasted of making millions but none did.

Also in his other thread he has included Silver Ikon after it won but no where before there is any mention of it.

But our commander goes for broke, why continue with this hallucination of winning a million and going on to see Europe with that money, there are other ways to fund your trip too.

All I can say is that the man is simply lost in La la Land

As per result page, Star of Harmony odds 14/10. As per the official odds, that was shown in cctv, opened at 5/4 and eased to 6/4.

So, 16/10 odds given to Chanakya jee is not at all unusual. There are bookies bold enough to take some risk, and this bookie might have given 16/10 odds to Chanakya jee.

But the problem is payments due to the punter after the results & white cone. 2000 @ 1.60 means the punter should get 5,200.

But, one thing. If in a race, a horse is withdrawn, there will be some cut (or should I say discount) in the liabilities of the bookies. What was the discount allowed to the bookies because Jager Bomb withdrawn?

Bombay based punters are requested to do a small favor and do the calculations. What will be the net payout from the bookies if a champion bettor rolls 2000/- on SOH, Mathiyas, Oracle, Lady Seargent & Undisputed? The odds are given my the author of main post. I do not bet with bookies and I do not know how the bookies calculate their actual liability?

At BNG tote paid 14/- for SOH. That was after allowing refund to all bets on Jager Bomb.

Just like we, punters, study horse's pedigree to judge suitable distances for a progeny, we should start a rating of punter's pedigree too. And unanimous LOSER of the site award goes to, no guesses, who. We, among putners, many of us, although having varied degrees of failure in racing, have done reasonably well in our professions in life, which helps us identify losers in life from a distance. In fact, losers in all facets of life, have a common characteristic, As people don't talk about them, they themselves bang their empty vessels louder & louder.Here the award goes to a loser of the finest pedigree, one who is bred not for specific suitable distances, but can traverse any distance and any length to gain some sympathy & attention. So the award of a can full of sympathy goes to the man who needs psychiatric help, earlier the better.
