If one plays above Rs 500/- , then he gets much more by the bookie, than what the tote offers. That's the reason big players bet with bookies at un-official half tax (10%). Even this un-official half tax is increased to 12% lately by a club. Any questions asked by anybody ?????

There is mutual understanding and wrong-doings between club managements and connections even on withdrawing of horses at last minute. By this wrong practice, lakhs are saved by the clubs, just in a single race, by deductions. Few centres are notoriously famous for withdrawing horses at the starters gate.

Hope the bookies continue to operate at all centres, otherwise we punters will only get peanuts, playing at the tote.

After tasting the comparatively higher returns from bookies, it is indeed horrible to even walk towards the tote. But, till some kind of common sense is drilled into the head of the turf management, there is no remedy from such inconveniences.
