Extremely sad to read that Model Anchor Sonika Chauhan passing away in road accident. She was Vijay Singh's daughter. My heart felt condolences to him and his family. May God give them the strength to bear this irreversible loss.????

It is with great shock and utter dismay to receive the sad news of your daughter.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences and I sincerely pray God to give you and your family the strength to bear this huge loss.

It is true 28 year old Sonika Singh Chauhan's father is trainer Vijay Singh at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club. Sonika knows riding was an equestrian enthusiast, She was often seen at RCTC clubhouse on big race days, it is learnt. On the fateful day she parties thru Friday night with her friends and the accident occurred at 3.30 am. As per the twitteratti, she was an Anchor on Star Sports, Model, Fitness Freak, Adrenaline Junkie, a Music Lover, an athlete, a dancer, a tomboy, Miss Popular, loved wheels and speed, SUVs and bikes.
On January 7 this year she handed over the Pat Quinn Memorial Cup, a trophy instituted in memory of her maternal grandfather to her father Vijay Singh, who trained the winning horse Avarua.
But it is not clear why she carries surname 'Chauhan'.. ?
