Guys heard that all is good and CM has cleared license issue and betting will get resumed from Wednesday in BTC,is it true ?

Instead of rain govt stopped!for survival quality of racing is important.if2 horses only vie like one of the clubs self closure may take place!!

Licencing issues threaten summer season races at BTC

With this week’s summer season races deferred indefinitely over licencing issues at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC), all eyes are now set on the crucial meeting between the BTC delegation and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday.

The Finance Department, licensing authority for the races to be renewed every month, has refused to renew the club’s licence for June, putting all races on hold.

The summer season that started from May 13 and scheduled to conclude on August 4 has already been disrupted. While BTC conducted four races in May, races scheduled for the last weekend of May were rescheduled to this weekend owing to rains.

However, since the licence has not been renewed, these races are deferred indefinitely.

Sources said that the Finance Department was not keen on renewing the licence till Criminal Investigation Department completed its probe into a litany of allegations of mismanagement of the club affairs.

The Chief Minister, also the Finance Minister of the State, recently ordered a CID probe following an alleged doping scandal in the club and a report by the government’s nominee to the club on a series of alleged financial mismanagement.

The final decision to renew the club’s licence pending a CID probe or not will be taken by the Chief Minister. “The file is put before the Chief Minister and he will take a final call,” confirmed a senior official in the Finance Department.

Y. Jagannath, Chairman, BTC, said that a delegation from the club met the Chief Minister on Friday. “He was busy and has asked us to meet him on Monday. We hope the issues will be resolved then,” he said.

He hoped that the racing would go unhindered and the State government would renew the licence.

Not just on course, the non-renewal of licence has affected off-course betting too. Off-course betting operations for Udhagamandalam races on Friday were cancelled too.

A senior member said that the summer season races usually nets a total turnover of around ?300 crore in on-course races and over ?200 crore in off-course operations, of which BTC earns a commission of 4.5%.

With no deadline set for the CID inquiry, the entire season is being held at ransom, complain racing enthusiasts.

“Let the CID continue with its probe and the BTC management has been co-operating with the sleuths. We are trying to impress upon the State government to allow the races to continue,” said a senior member of BTC.

There are lot tumbling out from the CID investigation .. Misuesing Tote similar to ooty races by blocking 3 - 4 machines ... Dope samples not been sent... tampered... wish you get hold of the investigation report... and lot of people have gone missing who were incharge of Tote and stables...

Can't you all read .. why even BTC is not even giving reason for cancellation.. only huge bribe to cm office for elections can save BTC or dirty secrets will tumble out which will shock the punters how club officials and trainers were conning the public

let them clean the act ... support the government than the race club .. by sending anything more anyone knows to Govt enquiry team

I'm reliably given to understand that the license has been issued so that races will resume from next week.

@ Dear All Contestants,

The BTC's postponement and Cancellation of Races on account of Act of Nature and further to the issues they are facing right now, has very much caused anxiety to the railbirds and very specifically to our Contestants..

We have been maintaining a stoic silence over the happenings as we do not have any locus standi on these issues and matters and apparently dependent on the actual running of the races at this centre.

I have been constantly telling people , wherever people have interacted with me that we Punting community should not adorn the dress of the officials and we should stay calm and leave the matter to the concerned and they will do their best to protect this sport.

As regards to the contest, One thing I can assure you is the postponements will be taken care of by the concerned and therefore there is high probability that the summer season may be extended accordingly. so there is no need to press the panic button at all and we will all be together in the way forward and as decided by the authorities. The contest will be on and please do not get self discouraged first and conclude that something bad is going to happen. if inevitable has to happen let it happen we will have a call later seeing the outcome and also gather info and data from the respected contestants and then proceed accordingly.

Let me assure you all that we shall post you the updates as we receive and we are equally optimistic that this sport at BTC will commence very very shortly.

We will also have some issues on the proposed GST being implemented and a full 28 days are there wherein the Members of Various RC's will work on this and update the Punting community and Fans of this sport accordingly. Let us maintained a strong calm and peace till then.

Last week cancelled the on the weather conditions.Why BTC not mentioned any reason for the 3 & 4 th June 2017 races. There may be some problem regarding the chairman election?

Come on my dear brother, Let the Bangalore PTR complete first, let us see how participants are playing and enjoying their success/failures, and how they are learning from these experience in real bettings and all, then we will try to add new centres like Mysore/Hyderabad/Kolkata, as per the demand of participants. As of now you are the only one asking to add Mysore to PTR stage, let some regular HTian also joins the wandbagon, there should be at least a minimum of 25 participants who are willing to add Mysore centre also in PTR, otherwise, for you, me, RM & SK, we are game to any centre. You know the fact that when we started PTR for Hyderabad, last time out, there were bare minimum participation

Interest in participation will be more when the competition is more and all of them follow strictly the rules & regulations, Hope you understand and regarding the Bangalore Summer Season, just as you, I am also eagerly waiting for the commencement and I know that it will happen sooner than later, so no need to worry

The PTR is for Bangalore. If there is whole-sale cancellation of BNG meetings, then let us just declare the ptr game void. In fact I was expecting that races will resume on 3rd (today)and hence took the liberty of silence.

Mysore summer & winter races are one notch below standard than Mysore regular season. BNG summer races are considered far higher in standard than Mysore regular. So, let us not just put both BNG summer & Mysore summer at same levels.

The Government may not be too rigid and the racing may resume on 10th June. It is not only the punter's problem and the club's problem. More than 800 tote clerks depend on the meagre 400 they get per race day. For the non race day, they do get not even a paisa. However reluctant and dissatisfied the Government might be because of the bad management, they can not simply gloss over the big trouble of so many low paid employees. So, we may expect some activity in the next two or three days. Let us hope for the best.

Yes. No one will tell about their own faults. But, we should at least demand from them the reasons. Let us leave it to them to either react or ignore.

Thank God we can pay the rent and other household expenditure in time Dear Raghavan sir I requested to include PTR current mysore season along with cc to all executives,but no reply,I specifically said that Bangalore races are a distant dream.Atleast the game should have continued.

This is only the Trailor started with BTC from Governament, we got to see the BIGGG Movie coming on screens soon which is ending with BTC closure.

Unless BTC is not going to co-operate with CM's office, BTC will never get out of this problem for sure. Every now and then races will keeps on getting cancelled.

Feel very sad on BTC. Lets see what BTC has got in its BRRRILLLIANT BRRAAINSSS.

Let us not worry if the uncertainty continues. Let the incompetence of BTC authorities be known to everyone in the racing world.

The only thing that I desire to hear from BTC is disclosure. As to the omissions and commissions on their part which compelled the Government to take such strong actions. For the first time in 35 years, I am hearing about cancellation of racing due to not getting the permission from the Government!

The btc authorities displayed their 56 inches chest while dealing with rwitc over the royalty issue. They projected themselves as no non-sense & honest administrators while tom toming the 2nd opinion of urine analysis regarding Queen Latheefa. Let them be equally fair in disclosing what went wrong in the last one week. Let them be equally bold & fair in telling us what actually went wrong during the last one week.

It has nothing to do with the cm of karanataka it is the fault of the btc not able to renue its licence due to huge payment dues in taxes.

i think present BTC commitee will b disolved by govt and. govt wii run the show

June, so that punters have happy this weekend, now a day ooty centre is

very demand, I think ooty is better than delhi
