I hope from next weekend races runners will be max 12 in most of races except few graded races.

how many of you observed invitation weekend races? even there were also 14+ horses in most races.

as four race days are cancelled, BTC might have decided to go with 14runnets for two days

MAD MAX is absolutely right.

There are some with less knowledge but many years of attendence. It's quality and not quantity here. Pl refrain from naming as many can teach them a lesson or two.

Many clubs do their best to confuse the racing public in many way's., less said by the connections.

Punters are at a loss whenever more horses are their in a race.

The only intent is to keep the punters perplexed, confused, doubtful and try to make them play wrong horse. More earnings for the club's in this manner, and more loss for the punters.

I have just read the Prospectus published by BTC for the month of June 2017, wherein they have clearly mentioned runners above 14 shall be eliminated.

For the sweep stakes (below) BTC will allow 15 runners, above 15 shall be eliminated.

1. Fillies Championship Stakes
2. Colts Championship Stakes
3. Derby
4. St Lager
5. Governor Cup

Another point they scored or repeated is same story, but 60% of the horses led early to starting stall (without proper paddock parade) are winners. Real Culprits are, Sr. and Jr. Byramjis, Niel Darashah, Irfan Ghatala, and there are other small trainers also indulge in such practices. General conditions No.20 (See below) say the trainers/owners have to take permission one day in advance. But it is often seen that just before the paddock parade they get the permission to send the horses early to starting stall. Nobody cares.

“ Horses will not be allowed to be led down to the start in advance or the remainder of the field except in very exceptional circumstances, which much be explained to the satisfaction of the stewards in writing, at least one clear day before the date on which the horse is due to start"

By allowing 14 runners to run in a race, BTC is emulating the rules of the game of other Race Clubs in India. See RWITC Mumbai/Pune, Delhi allow upto 22 horses in a field. Comparing this BTC has taken a cautions approach and limited it to 14. HRC and RCTC allow 15-16 horses to run in a race. MyRC may implement it shortly, hopefully. Ooty and MRC races allow 12 horses maximum now may increase it. So All Indian race clubs will accept to run 14 or more horses in a race. TAI may force the clubs to implement it before GST and NATIONAL TOTE take place. In that case 3rd place dividend where the field is restricted by 7 runners may be discontinued. There is no chance for 4th place due to meagre dividend because of the high GST cut, so we can forget that.

What is the meaning you say.. on 10th and 11th the card may be same.....? For Saturday Sundary they have framed fresh race card. It is OK BTC will allow FLUKE TRAINERS a free hand now. In my opinion BTC may produce (yes produce) 5 to 6 LONG SHOTS this week to square up the loss to a certain extent. Now certain ignorant guys will question me how BTC gains if Flukes win?.

See earlier punters used to study 12 x 9 = 108 runners. Now it has increased to 14 x 9 = 126. An increase of 18 horses. In any type of handicapping method, it is a laborious job to handicap 126 runners. That is the reason I said it is a headache for the students of the game.

I prefer 8 to 10 horses in a race on an average, as it is easy to watch them in paddock parade. At majority of times I leave races that have more than 12 horses. It is a serious concern for people like me. In Pool Bets now punters have to nominate more horses that will bring collections little more high. Hedge betters may increase the number of picks from 2-3 to 3-4 that will bring more investment in tote.

Yes, of course, there is a possibility to bring back the bookies to the Club, I doubt that is also one reason BTC increased the bookmakers. Who is the beneficiary of 14 runners in a field. Exactly the Clubs Tote and the Bookmakers will be happy if the clubs increase the strength (in numbers) of a race.

Does this not make out a strong case towards dividend entitlement to four places more so when seven contestants in a race shrink your claim just to two?

Be aware punting horses on 10th and also on 11 since card may be same because BTC is likely to gain loses done during crises time in getting license renewed in last week.Most of the races will be ended in upsets and middle odds though favorite races below half money odds may show honesty.Also, choose tricky trainers and multiple entries deciding horse to win or loose play win or eat.Also try to play more than one win calculating bet money.All the best.Game is changing not as fare racing but gambling.

Advocating FOB/T is worst thing you can do. Have you not read posts from Bombay based punters ?? Forget about FOB/T. A straight tote or a straight bookie (wherever available) is the best option.

With 28% GST the tote is going to take a hit and you want FOB/T, God save Bangalore and Mysore punters from this.

All horses running in Aluminium shoes both days. So trainers are not trying to playing tricks.

I don't see anything wrong with accepting 14 horses in a horse during this racing weekend, given the cancellation of races owing to natural calamities and other reasons during the last two weeks.

Is it not something expected that more horses will be entered for a race, when there has been a reasonal gap? Also, what the Government has to do with the number of acceptances in a race?

I also fail to understand the logic behind "more pressure and headache to the students of the game." Whether it's a match race between two horses or a field of 20 (like we used to see in Mumbai or Pune), the outcome is almost same for the race-goer. And how the proportion is 1:13 in a 14-horse field, when you have one win and three places in a field where there are more than 8 runners?

These things simply go to show that a section of the punters (should I say the majority?) is always looking to take things in a platter, which I am afraid is on the offing in a racecourse. When you step out of your house, please forget the money that you carry with you as there is no guarantee for the returns. No one can predict what will be your financial condition by the evening. Of course, there are choosy punters who just walk out of the course once they meet a set target. For such people, who alone withstand any hailstorm, how does the number of runners in a race really matter?

for God sake please tell me where the bookies picture comes here. BTC and mysuru race club are closed doors for bookies.

if turf clubs are avoiding bookies why can't club start fixed odds totalizer??
