Here goes My SELECTIONS for MYSORE Races of 22nd June'17.


Race 1 Win#5-THE IMPOSTER
Having run 3rd to ASCENDENT over the same trip in his last start and moving impressively in current trackwork, should emerge from the maiden status.


Race 2 Win#9-AS ALWAYS
Moved very fast from the 6th position(at the bend) to finish a fair second
to Catwalk Queen over 1400m. With the same jockey given another chance, is more than likely to amend.


Race 3 Win#1-FLAMING SPEAR
An encore with the same jockey, class and distance is very much on the cards!
Poor field and no serious challengers. DAY'S BEST


Race 4 Win#9-AL DAHMA
Already a winner this season albeit in the lower class. Moreover, her last run was also suggestive enough of an early victory upon promotion as well. Trackwork is an indicator of current form & fitness. All factors are in her favour and therefore should oblige her supporters. MORAL place bet.


Race 5 Win#2-STORM AHEAD
Slow off in his last start, yet had finished a close 5th in the higher class over 1400m. Now, with a positive switch in jockey and having elected to run over the same distance....should be able to hoist his winning flag after a gap of almost one year. A good thing!


Race 6 Win#1-CONSTANTINE
Tracking impressively...should smash this weak opposition despite top weight.

Race 7 Win#3-STAR STYLE
Ignore last run, earlier won comfortably over 1400mts, moving impressively in the latest trials, should make amends.
IMPORTANT: In case, The Imposter is a winner in Rc#1 today...the prospects of Star Style would get further enhanced since both have run together in Rc#57, won by Ascendent. Wager accordingly.


Race 8 Win#7-BE READY
Won comfortably over 1100mts in his last start, penalised, retains form, should defy the penalty imposed and win again.

1st Race
1 – Deodar – 4th on debut to Velvet Rose over 1100mts, with 100mts extra, now got good chance
2 – Kickback – 5th on debut this season, can improve
5 – The Imposter – twice third at identical distance, tracking well, can clear the maiden now
6 – Amaris – improving with each run, has run benefit this season, good chance
7 – Amazing Safari – impressive 3rd on debut, tracking well with same jockey, good chance now

My choice – (7) Amazing safari can get this from (5) The Imposter, (6) Amaris may place at best

2nd Race
3 – Friends Forever – good in tracks, but distance suspect, if can get the distance, then good chance
5 – Heidrun – with this jockey/trainer combo, very good upset chance
7 – Micron Yaacow – good third this season with same jockey, with 3.5 kg less, very good chance now
9 – As always – good second this season, can place again

My choice – (7) Micron Yaacow should win now, but (5) Heidrun may be a coup at longer odds

3rd Race
1 – Flaming spear – impressive last start winner with repeating chance
3 – Conundrum – debut run, tracking well, can place based on track, upset chance too
5 – King of the turf – tracking well, may place
6 – Centurio – excellent in track, can upset if tried
8 – Green Meadow – good 4th this season, positive change in shoe, may upset

My choice – (1) Flaming Spear can repeat from (8) Green Meadow

4th Race
1 – Sardinia – close 5th this season, with this apprentice good chance
3 – Velvet Rose – Youngest in the bunch, may upset
4 – Poet’s song – Mumbai import, has good chance to score, but shoes negative
6 – Point – knocking the doors for quite some time, can upset on any day
7 – Jolfa – thrice 2nd on a trot, can it break the jinx to clear maiden
9 – Al Dahma – speedy, good third last week over 1100mts, with 100mts more good chance to upset

My choice: bit tough race hope either (6) Point or (1) Sardinia wins

5th Race
1 – Alecia - +1.5kg, good second to ephialties, may score now
2 – Storm Ahead – on demotion, with YSS up, good chance to score
4 – Flash time – another demotee with upsetting chance
6 – Beautiful effect – close 5th over 1200mts this season, extended distance may suit, good chance
10 – Al Dorado – good third to spinning chakram last week, with jockey repeating good chance
12 – Sancy – 8th to spinning chakram while fancied by many, now at these weights good upset chance

My choice: (12) Sancy can upset now

6th Race
1 – Constantine - +2kg, tracking well, good chance now
3 – Class is class – good second over 1600mts in a start to finish attempt, with 200mts less, can upset
4 – Flying show – impressive winner at 1200mts in lower class, on a winning weight on promotion, chance
5 – Script writer – Youngest in bunch, has age advantage over others, may use that advantage for an upset

My choice: being the only last start winner, (4) Flying show should repeat

7th Race
2 – Saturn – impressive winner in maidens, may defy the penalty in this open class to score and encore
3 – Star Style – tracking good, may place
6 – Triple crown – on demotion, may upset with this jockey
7 – Amazing – good in tracks, may place here

My choice: (2) Saturn was impressive in clearing the maiden, can repeat as none of the others impresses me

8th Race
1 – Bandito – same class & distance winner last week, very good chance to repeat, jockey’s form is ?
2 – Class above – jockey always rode this well, may place here
3 – Praelector - +2.5kg, last start winner, may repeat
6 – Skyjet - -2kg, can improve to upset
7 – Be Ready – impressive last start winner, with this jockey can repeat and may complete hatrick of wins
9 – Albatross - -2.5kg, can reverse the placings on Praelector now

My choice: (9) Albatross may upset here, or else (7) Be Ready will complete the hatrick
