Yes. The 10 lakhs sales towards place could only from the the cash balance of the punter.

So, it goes without saying that 3.33 lakhs from each pool win/shp/place has gone to thp. There can be no other way the thp collections touching 10 lakh mark. Shortly it may increase to 15 or 20 lakhs also.

O.K.Fine 10 lacs for newly introduced THP is good.But tell me whether All of the punters brought extra money to play this pool.Not at all.Raghavan sir You are taking 5k every day into the race horse e.g.Only this amoun only you play in different pools.Today they introduced THP,that doesnt mean that tomorrow you will take 6k into the race course.THP collection will come from different pools mainly of win and place pool.So the collections of Win and place pool will come down but cannot be visible on the asid collections as 10 lacs will be marginally affected to win pool where as place pool will drastically comedown.
Mad max statistics is wonderful.But in real it may throw some different one.If the SHP or THP divident is more and fruitful then definitely more losing punters will be there. When winners in their respective pools get more dividend then losers will out number the winners all the time.If you can find out Total collection say THP and segregate the winning and losing tkts after the club commission.But when you play place pool only the dividend may be low,but the winners percentage will be higher.
Overall these two pools will sweep the punters in the end.

From the dividend paid to THP winners, it is evident that the Pool is an instant hit like SHP.

Now look at the average dividend paid on each Pool and decide which Pool is better? Figures are rounded off.

Place1= Rs.15/-
Place2= Rs.22/-
Place3= Rs.37/-
SHP=Rs.71/-
THP = Rs.92/-

From the above stats it is clear that THP is better than SHP followed by Win, Place3, Place2 and Place3.

I have a request to BTC, immediately stop accepting Place1, i.e. don't accept place bet on Winning horse. Because those who want to play a horse, can make it three way = Win/Shp/Thp and reap rich rewards. However I caution punters, in case you play three way Win/Shp/Thp there will be only one Pay-out, i.e. Against your investment of Rs.10+10+10 =30 you will get only one pay out if the horse finishes in the first three. Let us see how much such a player would have profited yesterday in Mysore races at BTC.

Mad Max minced no words and was at his sarcastic best while commenting about this new pool.

Now coming to actuals, I was thinking that a portion of collections that the punters would have played for place pool will be diverted to thp. But, the sales were at normal levels for the w/s/p whereas thp saw sales around 10 lakhs per race.

And, whether we like it or not, we should be fair. The dividends were good. On opening day a good number of horses that were fancied for place finished 3rd. (Except race no 5).

Blunder of the Century! Let us allow a reasonable time (say 10 race days) and see how the punters respond. As already stated above, place pool had usual sales and to that extent this new introduction should not be a cause for worry.

So Good Luck. Good bye to the existing taxation slab. GST, is set to be introduced from Saturday 1st July.

In one word I can say Blunder of the century.Better they can take a cue from Mad max advice to introduce 4th,5th, 6th 7th till the last horse number.Average and high punters will seek alternative methods for place bets with bookies.SHP itself a ridiculuos proposition,Sorry Raghavan sir you are a big fan of SHP.Now the win pool collection will be divided into SHP and THP.Those who are playing Win and SHP will opt for playing THP and Hedge bet with SHP vice versa.
I dont think any other centre will implement this especially HRC.Hyderabad centre took years to introduce SHP.
Better sense prevails over BTC brain.

Place pool removed? I do not think so. As of now, there is win, shp & place. And from tomorrow, there will be win, shp, thp, place.

The thp is in addition to the pool bets already available. Anyway that is what my understanding is. Let us wait till tomorrow.

Before PPL were earning money on PLC....Now BTC don't even want tat....

Let us not fall for such traps. If a punter plays Rs.1000 for place and his nominated horse finishes 123 he get's payment. Now a punter has to invest more to play Thp. In other words if a punter wants to invest 1000 on a horse each way he has to divide this amount 4 ways for win shp thp and place. It is obvious no one will play thp or place at the same time. Yes the club have realised that place dividends are going to be money back for horses which are even money and below and for horse below 2 to 1 for win it will be 50 paise and below.

Curious to know how the tv screens are going to flash 4 columns from 3. Not sure if this would be possible at off course centres. Also what is the commsion BTC has decided to enforce from 1st onwards.

it is really ridiculous on the part of BTC to start THP.As it is collections on win SHP and place are more than enough for club to sustain. In my opinion THP will not only be disaster but also one more loosing way for tote betting lovers.As it is addiction to trinalla and exacta pools are eating lot of public money.whoever has given this idea to BTC should have his head examined. Please note my observations are totally favourable to public, and not to hurt sentiments of any individual.

I am not sure; but my belief is in most other countries there is no shp.

But, I am certain that there is no thp in any other country.

So let us see how the punters respond to thp. But this 4th horse pool will not come in near future. At least not in next 30 years!

if place betting is stopped- it is loss for punters who play big on place bets

identifying a 3rd position exactly will be more difficult.

very good decsion by btc to introuduce third place .the tv display should b adjusted to next to shp and colour may b good contrast

Now they have Win/2HP/3HP, why not 4HP/5HP/6HP etc.
If this implemented anyone can win any time. I know it is poor suggestion, however worth a look and better than Treble Pool, always a dull affair.
