The Chaitanya Chakram Trophy !

Salazaar, Magistero, Pallas

Salazaar: Won the South India Derby very well (beating Magistero & Co.), many railbirds including me thought that was a flash in the pan performance & he would never be sighted again. Well, his next two runs Indian Derby & The Indian Invitation (Hall Of Famer & Temerity) wasn’t a disgrace at all, in fact both these runs were very impressive & the mock race was equally impressive.
He should tackle this set comfortably & win hands down.

Pallas: Has a record of beating “Watchmyscript & Royal Sceptre” in Hyd Derby very comfortably. Both the said horses have won Class-1 events in the current Bang season. This pointer makes Pallas come into contention, and Pallas’ all wins have come on this very turf. Besides, the odds & race is Arjun+John combo kind of race. The only negative is the track work which is least impressive.

Let The Lion Roar: I guess the change of stable is has a world of good for this horse. Ran a dis-interested race to finish a very close 2nd to “Watchmyscript” with a positive switch in jockey the connections would be hoping for better results. However, in my opinion the top weights (61kgs) could be a stopper.

Magistero: This half brother to “Murioi” seemed he needed the previous run & he would be a different customer in this race. The biggest drawback is Magistero has won only once till date. However he sitting pretty at 53kgs, he should run close to Salazaar.

Royal Sceptre: Won well in the hands of apprentice. A Sandesh would be asked to go start-to-finish again & hope others don’t get up in the straight. However, it would be difficult to repeat.

Spirit And Truth & Pearl Reward: Also ran

All the best folks

James...I agree with you regarding SALAZAAR. Don't look beyond!.

A close 5th to Temerity in the Invitation Cup, prior to which was his run in the Indian Derby.

Current form also looks solid having been a recent Winner of a Mock Race beating a higher rated animal. All in all, a good thing!

MAGISTERO could be one of his likely challengers, but undoubtedly, would have a herculean task to overcome SALAZAAR, to say the least.

Cheers!
