Sad that the Pune season has been compressed so badly. In the mid nineties, racing started on the second Thursday of July and went on to the third or fourth week of October. The races run in the Pune season were in the range of 270-280. Now we hardly have about 200 races almost a third of the season reduced. Pathetic state of affairs after spending crores in laying a wonderful all weather track and not conducting racing!

Yes, Pune season starts on 27 Th July. All preparations are underway to keep the beautiful racecourse in good shape.
Also being a Special track to suit heavy rains too, there's no threat or fear like Bangalore of rains. The only problem,if any is this place is graveyard of favourites as most trainers use this course to prepare their wards for the Mumbai season which follows immediately after Pune.
Watch the HORSE WEIGHTS before wagering on favourites as the long gap between Mumbai & Pune races make many horses to put on weight.
