I agree with you, but would say that to broaden your horizon don't consider
only one race consider all races generally and short list three races after careful selection of these races with your background knowledge of the factors which can affect the actual running of these events i.e, fair play, targeting by Trs for forth coming big races, mixing up by Trs, owners
and so many other factors, like form, health conditions, long gaps of runs and also preparations of the runners etc. Now you put in all your knowledge
to study for the actual selections for these three races and play. Mind you, it is not very simple and can take long hours of study and hard work, but this is what I follow and find it helpful. Pl try this method also.

My dear friends:
All these theoretic points(One Horse) may not work in practical. I do not know how many of you are aware ? Once you enter the Race Course you are under the effects of unknown force. When you hear the announcement - the horses are in just see how many people swarm the counters or Bookmakers holding their money in hand.

How many times you wanted to play a horse but changed at the last moment and in all probability your earlier selection that you wanted to play would have come through.

How many times you might have witnessed that when you are about to play someone comes stops and make you change your selection.

How many times you have given money at the Tote but the operator punched a wrong horse and you have not checked it and came to know only after the result.

All the above points are true and they are due to the unknown FORCE acting upon us when we enter the Race Course. You must be aware of this. This is true in all gambling places.

Many people can not watch the Race without playing.

Please try to understand this and do all your selection OUTSIDE the Race Course
and when you enter the Race just have your selection slip only and NEVER CHANGE YOUR selection.

We the senior punters have lost lot of money but after understanding the concepts involved in Racing we have recovered our loss and made little money also. You must not depend on some one else selection You have to learn yourself by studying the track report etc.,

You can not win all Races since one or two races everyday fixed for the benefit of vested interest.

These are all part of the game. You have to take it in sportsman spirit.

Best way is to follow a particular winning jockey or Trainer. Even you lose also next time you are bound to win.If you follow regularly a particular jockey you can easily understand whether he will win or not. I follow Trevor and Shroff and Sulaiman Attaullah.

Watch the rest of the games. Here is the main problem it is very difficult to remain in the Race course and watch a race without playing. You will be tempted rather FORCED to play due to unknown force acting upon you. You must resist temptation for playing other than your own favorite Jockey or Trainer. Sometimes they will also play mischief by not giving proper justice to the horse but it may not be regular. Once in a way you have to allow.

Majority of the losers are small amount playing people only. Even after winning they continue to play and lose not knowing some races are fixed.

Finally you have to make your own strategy and you can do it only by experience.

Unless you understand the concepts it is very very difficult for you to make money. Addiction is very bad and you can get out of it only through proper guidance from others and take precaution.

If you do not have a regular income then you should not go for Racing.

The heading itself does not suit the matter you have posted. The club is there to facilitate races where the owners run their horses against each other for the prize money or honor in case of Derbies etc, etc. Now the million dollar question arises where does the prize money come from. Not all races are sponsored by someone. So here is where the club introduces betting options for the so called lovers of the Sport of Kings. As an extra option they allow bookmakers to operate whose business is to offer odds based upon the relativity of chances of each horse to win.

Needless to say, the so called race-lovers are the ones fuelling the whole industry. It is the duty of the clubs to ensure a good environment and fair racing and be Accountable to the people who fuel the whole industry.

Of course applying a little caution as you have said is good, but that does not mean the Club can turn a blind eye to unprofessional conduct by the owners, trainers, jockey etc.

Patience is the only key in horse racing to make profits.

Each day is a new day and an other chance to cover the losses. Wait wait back the horse in a race where you feel confident based on the method of study each punter follows.

I prefer the ptr. reading, recent tracks (outer sand), connections of owners, jockey-trainer combo, owner-jockey combo. All these factors can still be manipulated by the clubs.

Its all about the luck factor to make money in horse racing. You play one race and make money/lose. Or fancy all the races and loose. Nothing is going to bring money for the punters.

GOOD LUCK on the particular day is what makes a punters rich and high but also its how we manage our investments.

Have a planned racing investments and make it big one day.

Note - 95% of the punters hesitate to invest seeing the odds, can this jockey/owner make it and later regret it. Just play what you like n no. of races.

Whereever there is human hand involved, there are bound to be manipulations.
The suggestion that we bet 1 race per day does make sensw in the long run as there are races run on merit and in few races you may find the running as per the merit of the horses concerned.
By playing 1 race, you also can increase your bet say you play all races and invest 3000.You can try playing a single race and maybe say onvest 2000.
The only question is the moment you lose, you will search yoir pockets to recover that 2000 and invest the balance 1000 as well which is something we punters have no control on barring a few.

Don pray tell me how does a race club run.

it is the punters who are in totallity to contribute fine.A punter does not mind even losing if another punters wins.

Here the oppsite happened on sunday a one way traffic

Now all what punters want is a level playing field.
That is the horse should have been tracked [two horses won without any work out that too as late as in July].

If run earlier should have some form where as as many as 4 races you find reversal of form to the extent of 15to 20 lts.

Niel and arjun give work outs god knows where that is why their horses win at longer odds.why do their horses fail as favs?

You talk of one race please can you define the critera of choosing that one race with an example over the next week end.

That is what most punters do they choose on big race than bang it

You will be surprised that many punbters choose only 3to 4 races.

Let us take race 3 bng sunday Carnarvon costing one crore plus now running without bandages ,smashing track work and Gandharva last run came flying are no where and the winner hey presto an ordinary horse last run 16 lts behind Pinyada that too with an aged jockey.

it is very easy to talk after the race have you seen the turn over in cricket betting or even kabbadi has over taken evne horse racing.

Badminton, table tennis were unheard of till few years back now wel ahead of racing.

Racing in I ndia ia dying sport and only few are left like us who are still going.New comers a trickle.

Play only one race a day. It's good suggestion.

But what happens when that particular race is manipulated by the very people responsible for free and fair racing ?????????????????

Again the next race day, you select only one race to play. What again happens when the manipulators target that particular race to loot racing the public ?

Winning and loosing is a part and parcel in horse racing. We accept that.

But we do not accept racing to be at the mercy of officials and connections.

All are crying for free and fair racing, nothing else. Win or loose is based the individuals opinion and experience.

Race fixing has to be stopped at all cost's. That's all punter's want.

If you are "such a player" and younger, you will become grey so early, still you will be eluding a winner. If your older, reserve 6 ft plot for the burial, you will get the winner in eternity. Same old "liquor" (not wine) packed in Plastic (not new) bottle. And calling himself Amitabh Bachhan and Sharukh Khan, @ Don.

Same topic you have chosen again which many senior punters have already discussed.
Its very easy to tell- bet only in one race in a day- its fine. But the real problem comes in the process of selecting that particular race. In other words overall if you point down to say 4 races out of total 7 races in a day... the most difficult thing is to decide which race out of these 4, you have to consider as safe ( from the betting point of view) and get involved in that race. Fine as long as luck goes well with you everything is fine. You select the right race/right horse and everything is gold when you touch it.
The real problem starts when luck starts going against you - like you would have considered 4 races and pin down to one, inwhich you get involved .. when luck doesnt favour you, always it so happens that the horses which you would have liked in other 3 races which you wouldnt have got involved, would win and the one in which you get involved, would go against you... which is really frustrating experience. And after 3 or 4 such unsuccessful attempts, because of this frustration, people stop using this particular formula.
Let me tell you- ask any senior punter- he would surely say there is no -ONE - standard formula with which you can win in racing. As long as any formula works, use that formula and enjoy. But dont be under the impression that this formula is a foolproof way of winning in races.

Dear Mr. Don ,

I agree with you, bookies or neither the club will give you in a platter an easy fav to win .

Select atleast three races in a day any center don't see the odds at all and find a winner based on your hadicap previous runs whatever way your study method.

( Don't just follow odds or even a tip blindly )

Just see the horse in paddock if he looks in best of condition compared to the market fav just back it.

Yes Mr. Don this is the only way and it works.

I have mistakenly choose to study a race out of the first five races held yesterday and knocked down because the horse won against connection activities and all handicapping methods. I really did not give any glance at the other races. Yet punctured.
