1st Race
2 – Momotaro – tracking impressively, can upset with this jockey
3 – Gutsy wind – running game races, tracking good too, should do it this time out with the jockey
4 – Absolute Brave – Jockey placed this horse at same distance earlier, will try to upset now
6 – Imitation game – tracking good, youngest in bunch, from Mumbai circuit, can upset

My choice: (3) Gutsy wind should win from (6) Imitation game, (4) Absolute Brave will finish third

2nd Race
2 – Al Dahma – speedy can upset
4 – Deliah – tracking well & speedy too, can upset with this jockey
5 – Deltin – Another speedy horse, can do it today with top jockey
11 – Erebus – can do it on start to finish with jockey
12 – Beauty Icon – can place at longer odds

My choice: (5) The speedy Deltin will open his account today in Mysore

3rd Race
3 – Malkia – tracking well, recent mockrace winner over 1400mts & that may be ideal distance, can place here
6 – Golden Cruise – impressive last start winner on promotion, can do it again if hold the form
7 – Amazing – is the one to watch out here, easy fifth to Fillies contender Star style, may be the big upset
9 – Catchy Charger – knocking the doors, with this jockey might do it today (gamble expecting)
10 – Golden steps – never try if in odds
11 – Reach the Stars – consistent, can do it now with this jockey
12 – Robinhood Pandey – can upset if tried

My choice: both (7) Amazing & (9) Catchy Charger having good chance to upset today

4th Race
1 – Markus sittikus – good 2nd in last run, may be tried today
3 – Galaxy queen – twice 4th this season, may be a gamble today
4 – Oceanic storm – good 4th in last run, with top jockey will be in contention
5 – Albatross – ran two close races over 1200mts in last two runs, now at winning distance, good chance today
7 – Spinning chakram – last start winner on promotion, runs with a repeating chance

My choice: (5) Albatross back to winning distance and may do it today, or else a gamble is expected on (3) Galaxy queen

5th Race
1 – Star Style – impressive winner but jockey winning fillies is doubtful
2 – Amaris – only maiden in bunch, with top jockey can it lift fillies to clear the maiden, I don’t think so
3 – Nikka – may place at best
4 – Setaglow – impressive winner on debut, with added distance good chance
5 – Tigris – both trainer & jockey already in top of table for championship, can upset here

My choice: (4) Setaglow should win, only threat may be from (5) Tigris

6th Race
1 – Naval Glory – twice winner over 1600mts and on hatrick, but shortened distance may not get the hatrick
2 – Class is class – earlier good 2nd to Naval glory, may upset
5 – Savannah sound – with top jockey looks to be in contention
6 – Reanna – 6th to Naval glory earlier, with this jockey who is a trier for owners, can upset
7 – Tremendous – youngest in bunch, winner of identical distance too, but the 4 months gap is ?
8 – Lucky Pineapple – may place with this jockey

My choice: Looks a bit open race, on jockeyship (5) Savannah sound may get it, expect tough fight from (6) Reanna

7th Race
1 – Campeon – on demotion, with good upset chance
3 – Tromborne – from Mumbai circuit, may need this run
4 – Admiral Act – close 6th in last run, back to winning distance, good chance now
6 – Heaven and earth – good third in last run, with jockey repeating may try today
8 – I do it for you – impressive last start winner, with top jockey in saddle, can repeat over extended distance too
10 – Sancy – Good 2nd in last run, may take a back seat today

Here goes My SELECTIONS for MYSURU Races of 5th July’17.


Race 1 Win#3-GUSTY WIND
Failed on-money favourite, had run 3rd to Markus Sittikus in his last start over a mile. With extra 200m to traverse, should win in this modest company, without raising any sweat.

MY DAY'S BEST.


Race 2 Win#2-AL DAHMA
Third to Be Ready on a start to finish mission in the upper class was a creditworthy performance. If she could only reproduce that run here, she would be home and dry!
CENTURIO has been tracking extremely well with the Fillies runners. Only drawback being that he wants more distance to show off his talent.


Race 3 Win#11-REACH THE STARS
Jumping out awkwardly and finishing like a tracer bullet, had just missed out in his last essay. Hopefully, she could do the trick now, if alerted a wee bit earlier.The only worthwhile competitor could be GOLDEN CRUISE, whose jockey was pulled up last time for repeatedly looking back for no apparent reason and yet had managed to win by almost 5l.


Race 4 Win#1-MARKUS SITTIKUS
Beaten second after a start to finish attempt as a favourite, close home.
Now, going over an identical distance but with a stronger jockey aboard, may redeem earlier losses.
Whereas GALAXY QUEEN, the likely favourite in this race, was thrashed by Markus Sittikus by almost 6ls in her last start. Difficult to see GQ reversing that verdict. GQ..a good 'LAY' bet.


Race 5 Win#1-STAR STYLE
The only winner over 7 furlongs besides being the highest rated filly in the field. Won her last start carrying 62.5 Kg....very impressive for a 3 yr old.
I reckon she should have the measure of SETAGLOW whose was a laboured victory against Malana.


Race 6 Win#8-LUCKY PINEAPPLE
Ignore last run, earlier won convincingly over the same trip in the lower class, may upset the applecart of TREMENDOUS, who would be running after a gap of over 4 months.


Race 7 Win#8-I DOITFOR U
Won impressively over 1200mts in the lower class, promoted; retains form; may score an encore, given the fact that Suraj has been assigned to do the honours.

Hi All,
Presently we did our selection based on the horses past performances + a good jockey means re-confirmation.

1-3 GUTSY WIND - Ran a good race over 1600m, present bunch looks weaker and the only horse to consider is 6 Imitation Game from Mumbai and running for the first time in mysore a strong shp/place.

2-11 EREBUS - By Big Dad Bob, Ran a forward race over 1400m to make sure shorter distance and speed is ideal. Back the horse good this time and don't leave it. I hope we get long odds. 3 Centurio is good for shp/place.

3-11 REACH THE STARS - Ran a very good 2nd to Mr Carpe, knocking at the door continuously this season with 3 consistent runs. 6 Golden Cruise won well in a lower set with good timings, bound to go close with shp/place.

4-3 GALAXY QUEEN - Ran well over 1600m and 200m less shouldn't be a problem and on the other hand 5 Albatross is going an extra 200m after its last run. I prefer GQ to AB.

5-4 SETAGLOW - By Multidimensional, and a winner on debut. I don't see any opposition, the only one to follow the winner should be 5 Tigris to fill the shp/place spot.

6-5 SAVANNAH SOUND - By Antonius Pius, Two excellent wins last season and was given a lung opener this season and will come up for that run and beat this lot. The one to follow the winner has to be 2 Class is class who is consistent for shp/place.

7-4 ADMIRAL ACT - By Lord Admiral and the only 3yr old in the batch. Ran Ok over 1200m and with 200m extra should be to its advantage and the horse will follow should be 6 Heaven and earth for shp/place.

BEST BETS: ERABUS-SETAGLOW-SAVANNAH SOUND.
