Need Legal Bookies At Bangalore And Mysore

By Srk | 09-Jul-2017
At the outset let me confirm that I am not a bookie friend nor Thier well-wisher.. but an ordinary punter.. of late we punters who back at tote are getting less odds than they deserve at other centre s like Chennai. Mum Pune Delhi.
We know that all the time punters are at recieving end.. but betting at bookie looks to a better option than at tote only.. travelling to Chennai at weekends is becoming difficult. Hopefully blore and mys management will allow bookies to operate. I am sure their boost of higher tote turnover will drastically come down in the near future As many have opted out of tote betting

@SRK,

May be you have a genuine grievance. So also 1000s of others.

But the fact is for 8 months since Nov 9th, there are no bookies and the club's finances have not taken a beating.

If you firmly believe that the rigid stand of BTC management will only cause big damage to the club's financial health, then it can only mean that you have not observed the tote sales at BTC even after the GST regime is operational.

The bookies had earlier were functioning with the mindset that they are the actual boss and without them the club's activity will come to a grinding halt. Like the granny who thought that it is her rooster who is regulating the Sunrise.

They never read the mood of the BTC team. Else, they would have surrendered to the dictates of BTC earlier itself when the Club demanded them to pay stall fees even for the days they did not function.

They were forced to swallow their pride and ego & take deputation to Mysore for a brief while. To their shock, even Mysore presented them the pink slip!

Today, it seems every 2nd punter desires that they should be granted license. OK. The majority view may compel the BTC to review or relax their stand. But, till a decision is taken to accommodate them, the punters have only the 'tote' option.

Of course, we are hearing about the large number of illegal bookies both inside and outside of the race course. To be fair, if these persons can be labelled as illegal bookies, then (before Nov 8), the functioning of those licensed bookies was also nothing but illegal.

In spite of that you want only the licensed bookies and competitive odds from them, so that you can gain that much extra? Well. To my knowledge, no bookie is Dana-veer-Karna or Bali Chakravarthy. They are here to loot you and they know that the punters will voluntarily offer their neck to the guillotine.

O K. If you and likewise majority of punters are so particular, then the BTC has to bow to the public mood. One reply in this thread has stated that the process has already been initiated. Good Luck & Best Wishes. Let the said process be expedited and all the punters enjoy their betting with the bookies.

It is real miracle that the BTC has stood firm on their decision till now. There were many among the punters who were peddling the news that only one last signature on dotted line is pending and bookies will be back with a bang from May 13th. (1st day of summer season). But, the Chairman categorically said in the press statement prior to the opening day's races that there will be no bookies. So, I have my own doubts that there will be any change in the existing arrangement till 11th August.

@ Hi Guys
Few days back I informed you all the bookmakers will return to BTC before Maharajas Cup, unfortunately the plan did not materialise as some of the bookies promised to return have abruptly cancelled the programme as they find illegal betting inside the premises and also from their office/home is more profitable. . So the Club is inviting fresh application from bookmakers, the process was supposed to start from Sunday 9th July 2017, dont know the exact picture as of now. I will update this thread within a day or two. So bear with me till then.

I am eagerly waiting for Bookies to return and fed up of with tote windows (give me something when we encash more than one lak.)
EVERY OWNER and big people are betting with Bookies which is happened recently in front of current chairman and he is laughing along with them.
Tote dividends are pathetic and are offering 21rs whereas the bookies are paying 2.25.
