After the introduction of GST, BTC conducted races on 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th July, all 4 days a card of 7 races each. Mysore conducted races on 5th with a card of 7 races, and again on 11th July framed seven races. On 12th RCTC season starts with a card of 7 races. Surprisingly we have had seven race days with a card of 7 races each from July 1st to 12th (Bangalore 4, Mysore 2, Kolkata 1). HRC on 13th July has framed 9 races and they broken the sequence of Number Seven. Is this the end of Number Seven? Are we going to get more races from 13th July onwards? Wait and watch.
SEVEN IS NOT A MERE NUMBER !
Mathematician Alex Bellos in his book ‘Alex Through The Looking Glass’ said he asked 44,000 people to name their favourite number and a tenth of them answered ‘Seven’. Whatever your creed or culture the number seven is special. Even those not interested in maths pick number seven. Of the first 10 numbers, seven is the most prime, we cannot multiply or divide it within the group. It is a unique number.
The perfect number of hours of sleep for humans is seven. Ancient Greeks believed there was a connection between the number of colours in the spectrum, the number of days in the week and the number of notes in a musical scale.
As per Bible, scholars say it denotes perfection. After creating the world God rested on the 7th day and a seven day week has been adopted by all human civilizations. The word ‘created’ is used seven times in the Book of Genesis in reference to the making of the world. In Judaism, the universe is made of seven heavens. The Koran often speaks of seven heavens and Muslims on a pilgrimage to Mecca walk seven times around the Kaaba. In Jewish weddings is the conferring of the seven blessings and also the bride circles the groom seven times. In Hinduism the wedding ceremony comprises of 7 pheras.

There are seven deadly sins and also there are seven virtues: humility, chastity, kindness, patience, abstinence, diligence and liberality, and few Horse Talkers are lacking it.
The number seven has been very lucky for JK Rowling. Her sixth Harry Potter book, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, sold seven million copies the day it was published in America. The seventh and final book in the series Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows was published in July (seventh month) 2007.
So our race clubs also adopted the Lucky Number Seven for seven race days and conducted 7 races each. Was it coincidental...? or.. deliberate...?
