Race 1 Win#1-ASAHI
Placed a good 2nd from a rear position at the bend, in his last start over a similar trip, may amend in this set with jockey Sandesh up.
RICH AND RARE may follow, since already beaten by Asahi.


Race 2 Win#2-OLLY BOY
A gamble horse. Be wary. Stay out of wagering in this race.


Race 3 Win#3-SUSSEX PRIDE
SP's last victory despite interference and with once-in-a-blue-moon jockey astride, was indeed noteworthy! With Trevor in charge, the hat trick of wins seems very likely.
FRIVOLOUS is the one who can put the spanner in his works.


Race 4 Win#8-STREETJAMMER
Ran 2nd to Traherne (A winner in Cl-1 today) over 1400m in a Class-II race; has been retaining form ever since; is all set to emerge victorious in this company.
LADISLAUS can cause some discomfort to SJ. Include both in JP.


Race 5 Win#9-SELFIE STAR
Placed a close 4th to Themis in the Fillies. Tracking well. Should win barring a challenge from MAN OF THE WORD, who is also in the pink of condition.


Race 6 Win#2-GOLDIES PET
A consistent runner, its time he comes out of his maiden status.
Keep an eye on SUMMER RAYS.


Race 7 Win#3-MIZILLA GOLD
Hard ridden to victory last time out by apprentice Amit, despite interference at the start. With Trevor asked to takeover from the apprentice, a second back to back conquest becomes quite a possibility.
VISION OF ROMANCE is the joker in the pack


Race 8 Win#2-ODESSA
Won convincingly with a rookie atop, and after drifting out alarmingly.
If he keeps a straight course and repeats that performance can score yet again.

Pune Day 2 – 28.07.2017 – Observations & choices

1st Race

1 – Asahi – with this jockey will be in contention
3 – Padmakosa – may place with this jockey
5 – Eagle spirit – jockey known to try for the owner at Delhi, can upset
8 – Rich N Rare – maiden after 20runs, jockey had his quota on first day, at best may place
13 – Western Lights – may be a gamble
15 – Tareef – always a front runner, yet to clear maiden from 15 runs, can upset on any day

My choice: (15) Tareef each way

2nd Race

3 – Drogo – last start winner with same jockey, can get the extended trip too, good chance
5 – Respect – trainer drawn blank on opening day, with jockey having good time, may bring luck for trainer
