Accolade

This horse runs well when ridden in check. Y'day he played the waiting game and came out triumps. Pesi, please don't try a start to finish with this horse. Accolade can win again.

Smart-still-poor-punter @ I know Pesi is the best / experienced trainer we have in India now. However, I thought, everyday is a learning experience. As you just said about how closely these trainers must be watching their animals running on the race track during trails in the morning, Then why do they experiment with the running of horse every time in actual races especially when it is a 4-year old horse, in highest class and has run enough races for the trainer to know about the horse. Sometimes start to finish (when the intentions are debatable), sometimes keeping it dead last and coming with a final burst in the final stages. lastly, sorry if I have said anything wrong. The intention is never to hurt anyone's feelings.

Such a temperamental Horse.
I was standing just 10 ft over the railings in the PUNE paddock. He was in a galloping mood was evident from his looks.
He was actually coaxing Trevor as if saying" Chal Jaldi Phod Dalenge" to mount him, when Pesi brought Trevor.

Come on Venu,

You are advising a veteran trainer like Pesi Shroff to do what with Accolade? That's a little too much my dear. Do you know how closely these trainers must be watching their animals running on the race track during trails in the morning. They will make the horse run start to finish, from behind and also in check. Only then they come to a conclusion as to how to ride the horse in the real race. While I appreciate your observation of Accolade, suggesting to the trainer not to run it start to finish is really unwarranted.

When you want to win the horse runs according to proper instructions. When not on job the horse hits the front. Set Alight hit the front in Indian Derby and list. Sometimes for some horse it hits the front and wins . Mathayiys.

Pesi is Pesi, the intuitive mind of this brilliant jockey turned trainer, applies his mind at the paddock on that race day and his observations and instructions to be followed by the jockey.
