Here are My SELECTIONS for PUNE Races of 13th Aug’17.

It would be most profitable to follow jockeys IMRAN KHAN & SANDESH today.

Race 1 Win#1-GOLDIES PET
A well performed filly, who is apparently retaining form, as evident from her last start 2nd to Summer Rays. She is the vanquisher of God's Own, a subsequent winner, and also beaten ROOSEVELT by 5 lengths(debut).
No need to look beyond her! (inspite of carrying top weight)


Race 2 Win#1-KOAL
Demoted after a close 6th despite being interfered with, has the best credentials to win over this mile trip.
The inconsistent TORREZZO with Sandesh up could however, provide some anxious moments, if his trackwork is any give-away.


Race 3 Win#1-COLOMBIANA
Has been a very consistent runner right throughout his career chalking up impressive victories against some of his top contemporaries.
During his last clash with GERMANICUS, he had finished ahead of him.
While in a recent Mock Race, he has also thrashed JACK FROST by 10 lengths.

All in all, seems to me A ONE HORSE RACE! MY DAY'S BEST!!


Race 4 Win#2-NELSONS BLOOD
Won pillar to post over the same trip; retains form and fitness; ready to score an encore.


Race 5 Win#3-FOREST FAIRY
Twice second in as many starts. Retaining form....should shed her maiden status without any herculean efforts.


Race 6 Win#9-ALYATIES
I fancy an upset in this race after a string of favourites obliging. Her 4th to Queen Ria with rookie apprentice was not too bad. With PSC booked to do the honours could lead all the way.


Race 7 Win#5-GOVERNOR GENERAL
His last win over Ancient Glory, despite meeting interference, was quite commendable. A repeat victory in the same class and the same jockey(Sandesh) looks very likely.
UNDISPUTED & ABBEY can challenge GG's supremacy but could be in vain.


Race 8 Win#6-GRAN PARADISO
A good second to ODESSA in her last foray coupled with an impressive final gallop, makes her a prospective contender to win this race.
Watch out for QUIXOTIC who appears be a threat.

Hi All,

1-1 GOLDIE'S PET - Ran well to finish a close 2nd recently. Top weight doesn't matter in this class. Roosevelt will be prepared well for future races. Its is very good breed by Power.

2-5 NIGHTFALL - This is 1-26 Category race and a very open one. Tracking well with Altaf Sayyed, just for longer odds.

3-1 COLOMBIANA - Is a very tough horse, if handled well by Imran should beat Germanicus.

4-5 TIMLESS - Very consistent last season running is few term races. Is the only 3yrs old. I am sure will beat Nelsons Blood.

5-8 VICTORIANA - Already had a lung opener, started bit slow and made up ground to finish close in 1000m race. Now PS in the saddle is a + and going extra 400m will suit, by Burden of Proof.

6-2 CRYSTAL BALL - Ran well to finish a close 3rd this season with Imran. Now same combination and distance should win this time.

7-6 UNDISPUTED - Speedy horse, tracking well and will continue his winning streak from where he left last season.

8-2 PRINCESS P - Is the only 3yr old in the race, had a run recently to finish 2nd to Gods Own. Quixotic will come close as PS is on board now.

Can Imran Khan do the trick? I am backing his 4 horses.

#1.30 #1 GOLDIE'S PET was not disgraced when resuming in a race where the winner was far better. Strips fitter and might be tougher to catch.

2.00 #2 TORREZZO is well prepared to earn his maiden bracket in this moderate set. Merits attention for his good fourth to CLASSICUS in upper class.

2.30 #1 COLOMBIANA has impressed in mock and stands tall on class factor. The one to beat.

3.00 #4 GLORIOUS EYES has put the writing on the wall with strong showings in winters. Well weighted in this company and ready to strike. Rates highly.

4.00 #3 FOREST FAIRY put in a gallant effort last start before the spell to go down to a very good filly. Hard to beat.

4.30 #5 AME finished well on the placegetters heels when resuming and gets massive switch in rider. Fair chance.
Bred for speed #12 WALK ON BY has drawn awkwardly but if she can get across and find a position will give this a shake. Keep an eye.

5.00 #2 ABBEY was in a purple patch in winters before the spell and connections will be keen to book more wins while it continues. Must go on top.
#1 DEEP DIVER drops in grade, has inside barrier and should enjoy all the favours. No reason he will not be in finish. Don't ignore.

5.30 With the benefit of run #2 PRINCESS P should be primed for this. She is improving at every run and should be hard to beat here from the good gate unlike last time.

4 – Polyneices – ignore the last run in same track, earlier ran good 3rd to Cambridge, basing on that may upset
5 – Roosevelt – good third to awesome hooves, can improve to be in place, upset chance too
7 – Powerhaus – improving, may be a different customer at these tracks, good chance

My choice: looks like fight between (7) Powerhaus & (5) Roosevelt

2nd Race
2 – Torrezzo – tracking extremely good, very good chance to clear maidens after some listless runs
5 – Night fall – tracking well, may place at longer odds with this jockey
6 – Golden Orchid – might have benefitted from opening days run, can improve and may earn maiden success
7 – Windhoek – maiden after 13 runs, but ran some good races, may be the time for rich reward
8 – Happy Birthday – 20runs without win, can’t be trusted now
9 – Secret Flame – this is the only winner over identical distance in present bunch, at these weights may upset

My choice: (2) Torrezzo can clear maiden ranks today

3rd Race
1 – Columbiana – twice winner of distance, ran with better horses, may that experience give her advantage
2 – Germanicus – good 2nd this season opening day, has age advantage, may improve to win now
4 – Escala – from Bangalore, younger one too, can it be a gamble?

My choice: (1) Columbiana might pip (2) Germanicus this time

2 – Nelsons Blood – impressive winner of identical distance, can defy the penalty to add one more
4 – Glorious eyes – ran close to winners in identical distance at Mumbai, beaten Nelsons blood in Mumbai, can upset
5 – Timeless – has age advantage, is youngest in the bunch, but lost as a favorite in Colts, can make amends now

My choice: (4) Glorious eyes lacks a run this season but has advantage over (2) Nelsons Blood

3 – Forest Fairy – twice 2nd in Mumbai, if wins earlier on Timeless, will not try, or else may try
4 – Ice Dancer – long way 4th to Selfie Star this season, can improve to be in place, may upset with the run benefit
