This is my final selection with couple of changes:

1-5 FLYING CLOUD - Inspite of loosing ground at the start, came well within 1-1/2L to Sam Houston over 1200m. I am sure 1600m will suit him and 3 Ever Glow is a 3yr old and running a mile for the first time. Check condition in the parade ring.

2-6 SURGICAL STRIKE - Is a 3yr old and a recent winner in a lower class at the same distance by 3L. Blaze to Glory is good for Shp.

3-5 Everybreakingwave coming after decent Bangalore runs, I doubt Rewalding performing over 1800m and first run this season.

4-8 AYRA'S PET - Ran well to finish 3rd recently, I am sure this was a lung opener for her. Should run well over this trip and better to Lay HCTShots if favorite for sure.

5-4 COMMANDER - Ran a close 2nd recently over 1200m, extra 200m will suit. Neeraj will have a quick double on this one.

6-5 MULTIPLE - Ran a very good race behind Fair Warning in Bangalore. Will take the Juvenile Sprint.

7-1 SCARLET EMPEROR - By Major Cadeaux, Following this horse for a long time, did not win almost for 2 yrs. Coming back to form and booking of TP is a + and a shoe change to A. DAYS BEST!

4 – Xlite – close 5th over 1400mts, extended trip may suit, chance
6 – Sam Houston – close 4th in last run over 1200mts, extended trip will suit, good chance
8 – Famous Attack – yet to clear maiden after 19runs

My choice: (6) Sam Houston

2nd Race

1 – Bubbly Bellini – at a suitable distance, may try
2 – Majestic – on class demotion, may try
3 – Blaze to glory – good 4th at identical distance by whipless rookie, with positive switch in jockey good chance
6 – Surgical Strike – impressive winner on promotion, very good chance to repeat

My choice: (3) Blaze to glory might tackle (6) Surgical strike

3rd Race

1 – Rewalding – after winning the Delhi Derby, not ran so far, can get the distance
2 – Romantic Magic – can get the distance, with this jockey will be in contention
3 – Celtic King – only runner in this bunch who placed twice at these distance, aged, can upset
6 – Sans prix – At these weights with top jockey, very good chance

My choice: (6) Sans Prix with a run benefit this season can win now

4th Race

2 – Bulgerian – very close 7th during Bangalore campaign, distance is suitable, good chance with this jockey
3 – Hartnell – good third over 1600mts in last run, with 200mts less, very good chance with this jockey
4 – Apercus – winner at identical distance in last run in last year, may need this run
9 – He calls the shots – close 5th to stablemate in last run at Bangalore, at these weights, good chance at home

My choice: looks tough race with all the above having almost equal chance to land the independence cup

5th Race

2 – Evesham – can give first win to trainer this season
4 – Commander – good 2nd to Constantine, can get the extended trip, chance
5 – Noverro – last start winner over 1100mts, can defy the penalty for another win over this extended trip

My choice: hope (2) Evesham gets the first winner to trainer

6th Race

1 – Gryffindor – unbeaten over identical distance so far, can the top weight stop him?
2 – Sangfroid – last start winner over 1200mts, with 100mts less to travel can repeat
3 – Fortune express – last start winner with impressive timings, coming after a gap of 5 months, can it do again
4 – Jump and run – good 2nd in last run, can try start to finish for upset
5 – Multiple – winner and good 4th in Bangalore, can help that stint to beat’em all

My choice: (5) Multiple can get the juvenile sprint from others

7th Race

1 – Scarlet emperor – may place
2 – Rustler – with this jockey won earlier, may upset
3 – Jordana – running over this distance for first time, tracking well for an upset
4 – Miraculix – jockey in good form this season, may upset
7 – Warpath – good third to Alien, with this jockey very good chance now

My choice: (7) Warpath each way

I was active some years back in this forum. My hospital construction work and OP schedule kept me away, which is for good, I realized as i went through the results and discussions. Some might remember me giving tip on the horse I had owned(I don't own now).As a surprise I got a call from a good old friend of mine after a long time to go through the kolkota card for today and give him my views if I don't mind. On Paper only 2 horses Appeal today at Kolkata:
Race 4. Aryas Pet - Although ordinarily bred, 2nd to Anacapri at level weights by 4 lts, beat Hartnell, albeit receiving 1.5kgs by 2 lengths both of who went on to register great wins at Bangalore. Today she receives weight from Hartnell, was given an easy run as favourite last time when same stable won and is working brilliantly. He calls the Shots, though impressed in Sanas win in Bangalore has not impressed in work. Hartnell should run well.
Race 6. Multiple - Blue Blooded - set for longer trip, but should tackle this set on his showing against Fair Warning, top of Cl 111 in good timing at Bangalore.
Express Wish is next, on his 2nd to Sana giving him 6.5kgs. Sana won at Bangalore in Cl.111 mid weight with very smart timing. Rider is ordinary.
However, watch their Weights, see their Conditions and Take your Call, irrespective of Price.
