Every Clubs (Except Delhi) provide these information and it is available at the time of Declaration of Jockeys. See Declaration page. When a horse goes from Steel to Aluminium or Aluminium to Steel it is easily noticeable in Race Card. However, Mysore Race Club and Bangalore Race club specially notify the minute changes in shoeing on their OFFICIAL RACE CARD (available on the website). I am not talking about their REGULAR RACE CARD which is published in Color and Jockey Jersey Colors. On the top right of the Regular Race Card they provide a link (OFFICIAL RELEASE), open that link and see the detailed Race Card with details of shoes declared in previous races. At the bottom of the each races they specifically mention latest shoes and other equipment changes. Otherwise you can also check present and previous shoe changes in the card itself.
For Mumbai and Pune races, you open www.Bolrace.com and check their web version "Race Card" (IT IS NOT AVAILABLE IN THE PRINT VERSION) there you can find the change of shoes. For example in the printed version of Bol Race Card, 2-2 St.Andrews is running with TS,DRB today, if you open the web version race card, you can find the trainer has discarded BFBS today. Whereas Brynhill has retained BFBS it. Again on 3-1 Oracle the trainer has added BFBS. So exactly the trainer only knows what equipments and accessories are needed for a particular horse. Our reading is on experience thus success rate is little above 50% only. Otherwise you need inside information.

Yes. Actually I have forgotten that. Remember I have written on this subject around one month back on Rahanullah Khan's horse Champagne. From the first run in Bangalore he was sporting high heel shoes, whereas it registered few wins in Mumbai without any high heels. Even you add high heels on both fore legs, or both hind legs and ask to run on home ground itself, the horse need not perform like before. It suddenly halts the winning form. Sometime trainer add high heels to a particular leg, say, right fore leg or left fore leg, left hind leg, or right hind leg. These type of corrections needed for 3 year olds and Mygrator won last fortnight for example. Normally this is done on non-winners. Sometime - rarely - trainers do this on older horses also due wear and tear situations. Really such corrections needed or not, that the trainers can only say. Some trainers are habitual offenders in shoeing, they try Both Fore High Heels one day, the other day they will try Both Hind High Heels, Another run, the horse will run with All Four High Heels. This is simply to fool the public. Trainers know what equipments and accessories needed for his horse. There are some trainers, like Lagad experiment with multiple equipments on horses. One day when he wants to gamble, he will remove all and the horse will win. There are so many trainers like him in India.
SHOEING:
LA DONA won thrice so far and every time it sported Aluminium shoes. I have gone through all its runs and subsequent racing incidents and I have not seen any worry to change its shoeing pattern. In the Super Mile it sported RUBBER PAD on Both Fore Legs and it finished 4th behind Serjeant At Arms. I watched the Videos no discomfort noticed. So when it sported same Rubber Pad again In The Stewards Trophy I have given it the OK marks. However, the trainer added HIGH HEEL on its RIGHT HIND LEG - a unnecessary balancing act cautioned me. He knew his horse will run as favourite and I seriously doubt he used Heel on its Right Hind leg deliberately to discomfort the horse. RR Byramji and Darius Byramji has done it several times. So I have serious doubt about its chances. Even if reasonable wear and tear occurred to La Dona's legs during the last few months, and the High Heel was necessitated on this day, no horse can step down distance and win a sprint straight away. I did not want to create a controversy hence kept silent on that day.

Good Day guys,
May be my last post regarding horses and people.
To just summarize,I'm a Cardiologist and my wife a Psychiatrist. When I discussed with my wife about yesterdays post and the intricacies, ugly side of racing, still people continuing with it in the hope and belief of earning and making out profit, or just for the kick it provides.
She explained two issues.
one,
horse racing, a sport it may be called, but involving betting, so it is a form of gambling, until sometime back was treated as an impulse control disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder.
Of late the current guidelines brings it under addiction disorder.
Two,
these people are risk taking, sensation seeking and action driven.
As long as the quality of life of people involved in gambling doesnot suffer, it makes a healthy social entertainment. once our family, friends, finance are compromised for the sake of gambling, it becomes an addiction.
Guys out of real concern I request you all to be responsible.
please do take care, as I know this industry from the inside.
My cup of tea is my hospital and patients.

Race 3. Top Brass should win as it ran as favourite against Black Swan who went on to win after promotion.
Race 4. Discount Reference and Sea King as both are running after being Gelded, these first time Geldings seldom win. That leaves us with War Envoy and I've got Clout. IGC is better off today and even beaten War Envoy in race no 165. The joker in the pack is the bottom weighted Cherie Amour. If, IGC slips then Cherie Amour will win!!
Race 5. Race is between 1 & 2. 2 can win fresh from Spell. Otherwise, 1 is better placed with App and on timiing than 3.
Race 6. Torosoro is in Cl 2 by default and suspect. Watch Out. Multi App is next best.
Cheers and watch the Weights and Colour.

It is OK I am unable to spot a winner other than this horse. However I find reasons to omit this horse from my Jackpot.
If my assessment is true LA DONA may lose this race, provided some other horse take a big leap today. It is possible. I will reveal my reasons only after the races if I proved correct. Otherwise you can blame me for misleading.

No.2 "Set to Win" should be the legitimate favourite and the horse to beat on breeding, but Indiarace is showing No.1 Optimisticapproach as 90/100 favourite? I wont believe this.

As an ex owner, friend of many trainers in some centers, my sincere request to my fellow horsetalk members and punters is,
QUIT RACING GUYS.
It was just cooked up drama neatly screen played and exhibited at the expense of public. I see no difference between them and politicians.
I'm happy I'm not a part of this anymore.

It's a disgrace that LaDona 5(2) is running in this fit for nothing company. It's too classy to be running here. It should win start to finish without whip drawn out.If Srinath looses this race he should announce his retirement.

Hi All,
1-4 AMAZONITE - By Burden of Proof, Ran couple of 1400m in maiden races, was up with the front runner till 1200m and then slightly fell back, ran in much better company. Should win easily.
2-1 KAROD PATI - Had three consistent runs over 1400m this season, YS rode him to victory in a mile race last year. This is the ideal race for him. Appy's Glamour is good enough for Shp/Pl.
3-1 TOP BRASS - Ran a close 3rd to Black Swan over 1200m. I don't see any opposition to this one. Tracking well with S John.
4-8 SEA KING - Ran in Colts Champion Stakes G1 behind Castle Bridge. Tracking well with S John and also the only 3yr old in the race. Should win well, this will be a quick double for S John.
5-3 LIFE AWAITS - Tracking extremely well under YS, Ran well to finish a close 5th to Castle Key. LA Dona has never won over 1200m.
6-1 MICHAELA - By Roderic O'Connor, Came charging in to finish a close 4th to Baracchus over 1400m. An extra 200m will be to its liking. Torsoro will be travelling a mile for the first time. My Days Best.
7-5 DESERT FALCON - By Footstepinthesand, Beaten by Heroine and Bora Bora two good horses. I hope there is not another one?
8-1 DONT TRUST ANYONE - Came down in class after a 3-3/4L 8th with timings of 1:13:49, carrying top weight in this class in not an issue with YS in the saddle.
