@Mad Max

You are wrong you will get entire amount back whether it be 3 tickets or 10 tickets in any financial year. If your income from all sources and tickets is less than 3lakhs.

Punters are deserting BTC day by day. Now only a handful of punters are visiting the premises, say 3 to 4 thousand, the end is near.... left 3 - 6 months, after that you can see big lock at the gates and also the Security personnel vanishing.

Guys, the tote dividends at BTC have been pathetic off late. It is very difficult to make money even after picking 2-3 winners out of 5 races. Today in Pune's 4th race (26th august) I had backed Stallone for place and I was shocked to see that all the 3 horses placed were paid out Money back (rs.10). I don't know what the BTC authorities have been upto. These instances have to be investigated by them. I hope the BTC brings back the Bookmakers immediately or else the end of BTC is not very far :(

@ Race Selection

Then where is the bookie in BTC.. you show us?

@ PraveenS

Gameguy has 3 tickets, legitimately the total dividend per ticket is Rs 14000, since the amount is below Rs 20000 you can claim the amount by Cash. At RWITC you can claim 10000 exemption for all three tickets, so you can save 9000 instantly.

At BTC they wont allow any exemption. They will deduct 30% from all three tickets. So you are losing 3000 each from three tickets. Total loss 9000. If you file the IT annually you will get back 3000 only. It means they will allow the exemption only once, not twice or thrice, so you will lose Rs 3000/- each on other two tickets.

Total Income above 3 lakhs, there wont be any rebate. Less than 3 Lakhs you are eligible for rebate of Rs 2500 during 2018-2019 Assessment Year (Fin.Year 2017-18). It was 5000 last year. Please not these income group fellows can claim maximum refund of 5000 only. In Gameguy's case he can claim 2500 rebate + 2500 from the TDS deducted as per 194BB, total 5000 refund, in case his total Income is below 3 Lakhs annually. That is the reason I said give the other two tickets to his friends and let them file returns and claim the refund.

You can claim the entire TDS(Tax Deducted at Source) Amount deducted by the Clubs if our Income from all sources including the total winning amount ticket on which is TDS is deducted is less than 3lakhs you will get your full TDS amount back from the Government and if your income 5more than 5lakhs you will get 20%(eg: TDS deducted is 3000 you will get 2000 rupees) back from the Government and if it more than 10lakhs you will not get anything from the Government because entire deducted amount is 30% and above 10lakhs income tax is 30% deducted amount is 30% so you will not get any thing.

Only 2500/- we get is not true.

I know this because I have been Claiming the TDS from government for the past 4 years.

You can claim the entire TDS amount by filing Income tax returns after the end of financial year (31st March2018). But you have to fill a form which the club give and you should have a Pan card so that you can give your pan number.

Best Advise for Tote Players at BTC !

How much you are invested on single ticket is not a concern for BTC cheaters. Just count how many winning tickets you have got. One winning ticket cost Rs 10 hence that is considered as your investment at BTC. So you will get exemption of Rs 10 only on one winning ticket.

There is no Rs 10000 Exemption as SUCH in BTC allowed. Go and complaint to RBI or Arun Jaitly. BTC damn care about it. They will deduct TDS @ 30% on entire dividend declared. and balance whatever you will get. It means they will deduct Rs 3000 (TDS) on your exempted amount of Rs 10000/-. So best way is -

Refund of Excess TDS Deductions:

You encash only one ticket. Share your Pan Details with BTC and take the Acknowledgement of TDS deducted. Collect the FORM 26A later from Tote Manager's office near the gate. File your IT Returns later, you can do it online. You can collect the TDS deducted (Rs.3000/-) from IT thru bank.

Note:
If your annual total income is below the exempted level you will get a rebate of Rs 2500 (2018-19 AY). Previous year it was 5000 (AY 2017-18). So you are eligible to get a maximum refund of Rs 5000/-

Give the other two tickets to your friends who are normally not filing returns. They will file the Returns and collect the refund (Rs 5000 each). Give friends 2000 and collect your 3000.
