The formulae is simple !
If you played 1000, you lose 50% of your investment. So your investment is only 500.
If you played at 2/1 odds, 50% of odds deducted, and remaining portion you will get, ie. at Evens.
Due to dead heat the bookies have to pay to two winners, so you will get half of your investment + half of the agreed dividend. In simple, if the bookies issued a betting card you will get half of the amount mentioned in the BC.

Raj calculation is correct,as I also played bit bigger bet at 14/10 at ten percent tax,I got same proportional amount ,as I knew how dead heat works.
The formula for deadheat
The amount you played + on what odds you played,divide by 2 ,deduct tax if it is 10 or 12%

i think the formula for dead heat is
odds minus 1 and then divided by 2
so in your case i think it should be
1.5 -1 = .50p
.50p divided by 2 == .25p
100000 you played ...so you will win 25000

@ Raj - Re Eternal Angel, Can a horse come from 14 back to 11 and win? Maybe only in Delhi where all the races are fixed!!
Symbol of Choice runs with a Very Good Chance as though an Older Horse enjoys Huge drop in scales, is a front runner, notable runner over 11F in race 14,jockey switch to Apprentice, last work is very impressive showing intentions of Trainer.
Warrior Supreme is the only other horse who poses a threat as hes a youngster with considerable runs, impressive work and Trainer confidently putting Full Jock when he could have claimed allowance with App.(though yet to win in Class.)
For me its Symbol Of Choice for a Value Bet.
