B Puttanna was very friendly person who used greet n talk to me during walks in the race course and encourage to loose weight. His advise was not to treat invest ment on horse as business investment expecting calculated returns. May his soul rest innpeace in heaven.

Felt very sad hearing the news of Puttannajis death.
I had met him several times in the Owners stand and during KROA AGMs,we sat together and he encouraged me to come out with my viiews more than once.
A person with a perrinial smile and an amicable disposition ,he would respond to every question of everyone.
So,I requested him to come to Our Get Together in 2015 on the Derby eve at HBI and he not only agreed readily but asked me to invite L.Marshall also who was working with him at that time.
Both came on time and spent an hour and half with 25 of us from Bangalore,Hyderabad and Madras.
Everyone had a question or two to ask and he replied with a smile !
He even hadn't a drink with us along with Marshall and left for another engagement.
Everyone present were stuck by his honest responses.
I am sure those of you reading this will recall the good time we all had with Puttanna Sir being with us.
May His Soul Rest in Peace.

Retired trainer Mr B Puttanna passed away earlier today after losing his battle with Cancer.

A old school, gentleman trainer who always had a pleasant disposition & a wonderful sense of humour.

He was instrumental in shaping many a young riders career in their apprenticeship days, notably Y S Srinath.

He had a few successes in classics, the last being Jersey Girl in the Bangalore 1000 guineas a few years ago.

Our thoughts with the family & this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.

When i got to know racing trainer Puttanna had a horse named "shakthi" in first class.Every season it used to pick up a sprint race in the highest class. But the last win for the horse was for 1600 mts and it was ridden by Pesi shroff that day.The horse always won at 5/1 and above only.RIP.

RIP Mr. Puttanna.

I think he used to give mounts to Robin Corner and had a good time challenging V. Shinde and Byramji. Me and my friends used to play this combo and enjoyed the thrill !!
