Jockey V.Shinde rode only just 2 Races in Hongkong and he was deputed from RWITC to rpresent India. Fortunately he won both the Races allotted to him. He never went abroad for riding for any Trainer on contract.

Your point is correct in prrinciple. Considering today situation when the races are valmost fixed no one bothers about horses condition. Due to my age I do not gattend Races personally. I just send my assistant to play if I fancy any Horse. I also do not believe this Body Language Practice like Cricket match But many friends told me it is so. Jockeys do convey some information. You can not rule out the possibilities.

1. Horses are paraded RIGHT HANDED (according to the race track)
2. Leg up to Jockeys by the Trainers and thereafter one or two rounds with jockey up? (What you will say about it?)
3. Then from Paddock to Grand Stand (the narrow path to get out from the paddock) All horses pass thru this lane.
4. Then on the Grand Stand jockeys parade their horses before taking them to starting stalls.
5. After reaching the Starting Stall there also jockeys Parade their horses LEFT HANDED. If any jockey get down from the horse then the handler will parade the horse Left Handed.

In the paddock, horses are paraded and not the jockeys and the parading is to know the condition of the horses. I don't know who taught this trick and you miss the horses' condition.

Sadly I find the so called top jockeys a misnomer.

All of them without exception use whip like no ones business .
Let us have one day a no whip race day and see them exposed .

Mathyis won because two unfit horses were made to run for money [Temirity]

In India Racing should be banned for ever !
At least the Central Government to warn the erring professional who send out Doosara/Theesara etc. Because -

1. On average around 60% races are fixed.
2. In such races the jockey is well informed what he is supposed to do.
3. In such races you just need to follow Champion Jockeys body language during parade.
4. They are dead-sure whether they are winning or losing.
5. Nowadays even apprentice jockeys show positive body languages during parade.

Now coming back to Mathaiyus !
Someone in another thread wanted to label this horse the best ever.
If you take its last six runs you will find every time the race was fixed as Doosara. Whenever it was fancied (Bangalore/Hyderabad/now Pune) he lost to his Connections Doosara. Whenever it won connections had a favourite Doosara. Pesi has stooped so that he cannot enter a single horse in a race win. He needs cover every time to loot the punters.

B-90 Astor Rose (Manifold connection) was favourite Mathaiyus won.
B-125 Mathaiyus favourite, Captain Morgan won
B-155 Captain Morgan was Favourite, Mathaiyus won
B-193 Mathaiyus was favourite, Captain Morgan won.
H-122 Captain Morgan was favourite, Mathaiyus won
P-141 His own Temerity was favourite, Mathaiyus Won

If you watch the video Replays of a few Australian Races you find all Horses are tried. In In India once a Horse has taken a lead rest of the jockeys will take arm chair ride. Horses are moved steadily and jockeys judge the pace accurately and make an interesting finish. Sometimes the entire field is in the finish line.

Quality of training and ethics followed by jockeys shows much difference from India

All time great Vasant Shinde won the races in abroad.His pace of judjment was very good.he had rare abality to ride the horse from way of the pace,even foreign jockey praised his riding skill.

Our India is a country of huge population,poverty and disparity in income.These factors have disabled us from making a mark at international sporting scene.In Olympics,we can only remember the great performances of P.T.Usha and Milkha Singh.[not to forget the unique performances of Indian hockey team of earlier years.]
That said,in racing,we cannot forget the performances of a few
horses at the international level:-
1.MYSTICAL
Won two races at Dubai Racing Carnival.
2.SADDLE UP
Adjudged best horse in Singapore \Malaysian Circuit and won Tunku Gold Cup.Ran second in Singapore International Cup.

Others
Southern Regent won twice in England way past ripe age of 9.
Astonish was class 1 winner in Hongkong.

Own Opinion represented India in Japan Cup.[Even though beating his own record timing,finished 13 th running anti clockwise.

India is marching on and in due course hold its head high in international sporting arena.
