Derby is conducting as scheduled Time...

Being a local turfite, I have not heard from any authentic source that Derby Day racing is under a cloud due to inadequacy of Police bandobast at the RCTC.

Unless, of course, the elements (rain, thunder) were to intervene...which also seems a remote possibility!

How such rumours get circulated...beats me.....nothing on the web-site either?

Relax friends...the mood is hugely jubilant and festive out here and so get set for an amazing Derby treat!

It's going to be SANA vs DAFFODIL with the former having a slight edge!

'The Kolkata Police has asked the Royal Calcutta Turf Club to postpone the races scheduled for Sunday, October 1 in view of the Durga Puja festival and Muharram which requires large deployment of police force. The RCTC has not conveyed any decision about going through with the programme as scheduled.'

The above suggestion was given by Kolkata Police when they were asked for deployment of additional police force.

MOHRRUM IS THE FESTIVAL CONDUCTED BY EVERY CITY IN INDIA. IN OUR HYD. CITY WE HAVE MORE INTENTION THAN ANY OTHER ONE. WHEN NO PROBLEM WITH OTHER IVB CONDUCTING CENTRES, WHAT IS THEIR PROBLEM. MAY BE SOMETHING OTHER THAN THIS.
