But with most horses the going does make a difference, one way or the other. Good study work in this area of earlier runs can be well rewarded, trainers seem to see it as a reflection on their competence if the going is any other than good, and often fail to appreciate the value of information about the going to knowledgeable punters.
There is also a tendency to quote penetrometer readings, but these are taken at certain points only, and often aren’t as informative about the going as dedicated observations about times and draws can be.
Bear in mind that words like heavy, yielding, soft, dead, good, firm and hard are adjectives used to describe what is in fact a continuum. The significant distinction is between horses that need an easy surface (on the wet side of good) and those that are at their best on a sound surface (the dry side of good). Try to identify them. But look for positive evidence and don’t jump to conclusions when it is not there. If a horse wins one or more races on soft or heavy going, you can presume with justification that such ground suits him well. But unless the horse has run disappointingly on firm going, there is no positive evidence that firm going might not suit the horse even better.
Paying careful attention to the effects of the going is as important a factor as weight!
Other factors like front running horses in sprint upto 1200m support the theory of wet surface .....
Main indication is the INTENT of the owner & trainer to go on job in such wet conditions ..which also plays the BIGGEST role in horses winning or losing in Rainy blue days ...

I am glad one is giving Frivoulus a lay bet ,I hope more join in and we get better odds.
All the other horses will see is his tail today. An outstanding bet for me if I get odds of over .80.100.
Last race speed of sound has been subjected to good preparation and should convert it for a win for this young trainer.

@ Tota,Many will give you the tips that so and so pedigree horse will perform better under heavy going.There is no truth in this(this is my point of view).It is a lay man"s hypothesis.Till now there is no proof for this.Actually it depends on the owners,whether to try their horses in a particular condition or not.Mostly top weighted horses ,if they are hot favorites may not be tried.In a sprint race if the horse that runs start to finish is tried,and the one that comes from behind may not be on the job.So it is better to take a lot of low weighted horse in the jackpot on heavy going.

Heavy rains at Pune at this time.Hope the same abate by evening but weather Deptt. has predicted heavy rains till 14Th October'17 all over Maharashtra.
Even with Best Monsoon track at Pune,pray the rains shouldn't play spoilsport by coming huge.
