Looks to be straight fight between Pure Zinc and Themis. I think PZ has slight edge, but I would certainly hedge with Themis.

Dear raj, I guess, you did not read/notice the opening few words of mr.Srinath, he started with "I could be proven very wrong"? very wrong?? and, I doub't his analysis.
Its going to be a straight fight between, "pure zinc" & "Lady in Lace".
capriska/perfect star may finish third.
But, based on pure turn of foot at the turn/straight mark, Lady will be cracker, and zinc/any serious contender should catch her extreamly hard.

I had posted this post below on 06.10.2017 in the noon & after declarations are out happy to be proved correct in my info.
I had posted a thread on P.Trevor coming to Pune especially for Derby & will be riding KANGRA.
ADMIN either didn't receive the same or didn't find it interesting.
If this reply is published then I can say that it'll be very good derby after many years here at Pune.

Very arrogant reply with many mistakes in English & you are telling me to brush up my English. You even don't know that G in God is written in capital. Your original post says- An 'B' center like Hyd & man you don't know the basic that An comes only before a,e,i,o & u. You don't seem to have learnt that after full stop the new sentence starts with a capital letter( read your own post). Get Lost & don't dare ever to teach me English.
For you info I'm a Puneite since 1953 & regularly frequent Mumbai & don't need your advice/knowledge on weather here. You may not have born before 1953 from your arrogance displayed as we people from that age are mild & use soft language to even a kid,as it's the culture of those years.Your poor knowledge in calling Pune straight as long is showing your caliber.
For your knowledge here are straights' distances(Approx.) of 3 centres under reference
PUNE-385 Meters
HYD- 515 Meters
MUMBAI- 585 Meters
So just get lost & don't even try to teach me anything as you will be my last teacher on Earth, if at all I need one at this stage.

I have clearly mentioned that hyd horse winning Pune or Mumbai derby. Not another south center like at Bangalore.
You have no knowledge of the sultry weather conditions at Pune and Mumbai, the fast track, long straight course.it will be 8th wonder if an Hyd horse wins a derby at these 2 centers.
Go back to basics. All that hyd boasts is one horse in last 30 years.
You have written that " Even P.Shroff summered at Ooty this year." god only knows what it means. its out of world dictionary. Needs to brush up your English.

DO YOU KNOW THAT A CLASS 4 HORSE FROM OOTY CAME AND WIN A CLASSIC IN BNG. SO ALWAYS REMEMBER OR NOTE THAT ANY HORSE FROM ANY CENTRE CAN WIN A BIG RACE.

I have a feeling that although Pure Zinc is a good horse…..Winner of S.A. Million has never won the Pune Derby. Its a Jinx in Pune. The percentage of favorites winning the derby is also less (barring last year) Lady in Lace may be exhausted. Perfect star may spring a surprise. Zanara looks fit and with Y.S. Sreenath riding may get him his maiden Pune Derby.

Poor memory or knowledge to discard Hyderabad as B center. Have you ever heard of a horse named CHAITANYA CHAKRAM winning Indian Derby & Invitation at Bangalore?
LIL may or may not win Pune derby but don't discard centers as B grade. Even P.Shroff summered at Ooty this year.

Going by the win of Kangra in 1k guineas i feel she was not ridden to full advantage in the Bangalore Derby. Had PS come from outside instead of choosing the railing she would have run much closer to the winner. Hence my vote goes to Kangra as a good bet.

An 'B' center like Hyd can't produce a Pune or Mumbai Derby winner. It has never done that so far. So not likely to happen this time also.
And more than anything else it has to be a colt.
If someone still thinks lady can win keep dreaming.

Perfect Star Late MAM horse will Wins the Pune Derby at 8/1 odds if foreign jockey ride the horse.
And still have a chance if Suraj Narredu or Imran khan or Y.S.Srinath rides the horse.Any way take a chance for Win, place or ,show. Sorry I mean 1st,2nd or 3rd.

Friends:
I think Trevor will be coming for Pune Derby. His engagements after 11th Oct has been cancelled and substitute Jockey replacing his mounts. I do not know which Horse he will be riding in Derby. Most probably he may ride for Trainer Pesi Shroff.
