By Mahesh | 12-Oct-2017
Wow Members sitting on Govt land under dispute now don't want to even concede 50 membership for new comers as usual in this fight between the elitist poor sufferers are 500 Daily wage earners ,

Heartless is a mild word to use

Not even 50 members own horses or regularly attend racing wonder if a test was given will they even know a difference between a filly & colt.

Well Said Mr. Gopal.
I dont think Dr. Doo must be in elite company and he has not understood the plight of lower middle class.
What Govt. is demanding is nothing but 50 nominated members by Govt. When every Govt. Changes these member's also change. This creats a natural relationship with Govt.
Apart from this punters donot have voice to demand with the club, with induction of Govt. nominies punters will have a right to raise the demand for fecilities.

Dr.Doolitlle your reply is shameful. The daily wage workers kept quiet for 40 days. I have heard many of them have been borrowing money to meet up expenses, many have taken loans for vehicle or cars and and stuck now. By protesting have they don anything wrong. You talking of bad image. Shameful aggain.

It is the punters money the Club paying as the wages/salary of the workers/staff. Why you blame the existing members...or the club? they are not concerned about the workers? Punters should think whether you want entertainment at the cost of your money and keep the club alive.

All the Bangalore punters waiting for the club to start for betting. But with 28% GST and club commission no punter is going to make any money so it is better in a way if the club is close then only State and Central govt will realise because Bangalore race club is the highest tax payer in India. If you want to bet you can with private bookies were you can bet in 10% tax. I am from Hyderabad I stopped going to race clubs because HRClub is deducting 57.5% from the tote so there is no point wasting my hard earned money.

The 350 are the creme de la creme of Bengaluru society. The have to get priority over the workers who can always be replaced. If the membership was not elite why would the government try all such methods.
Hats off to the members who have stood firm for their principles despite so many hardships. It’s really shameful that the workers staged an illegal protest at the car park and created a bad image for the club. Action should be taken to maintain discipline at any cost.

Suppose the Government takeover the BTC and runs (It happned in Chennai), what these members will do. As they are fit to enjoy the free fecilites only.

ONE MORE THING THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD DEMAND IS IF A MEMBER DO NOT OWN A HORSE, HE IS CEASE TO BE A MEMBER.

Hi

These BTC members are acting as if they own the land they should remember that this is govt land say public land, and they are enjoying having free drinks food and what else.they are not ashamed and its time govt takes over this land and close this club and make use of this land for public use.

As regards racing is concerned it can be shifted to mysuru.

The members have been living off racing for many decades [paying only rs 250 per annum] and enjoying subsidised food and drinks.
Can this this happen any where in the world?
The funny part is majority have nothing to with racing just enjoying free club facilities in the heart of the city.

How do you expect them to bother about any thing else in life.

Meanwhile no signs of racing in the near future in BNG
