Permitting racing is win-win situation for the Government and the club. Government must decide to allow the present members to continue or throw them out and appoint Administrator to run. The administrator can run with the help any other company or persons experienced in racing. None of the present members have not invested or like company are share holders. It is a club and all members are elected by inheritance. Government can supercede. But Government's hidden agenda if any like grabbing the land may not work out. The land is not Govt. allotted and Supreme Court will not allow it to be converted for any other hidden ideas of the Govt. It will be like killing the goose that lays golden eggs. All these years the members enjoyed and prevented membership to others or to increase. They are not the owners but as members they are entitled to run the racing. Running racing anybody can do in much better/professional way and the present members know very little about racing. They are hand in glove with unscrupulous trainers/ jockeys/illegal book makers and spoilt the reputation of BTC.In 70s and 80s top trainers struggled to win race in Bangalore summer. Now you can see all Tom,Dick and Harry winning as they like with no one to question or say no body has the guts to question. So many horses in benami names and the club has not even seen their faces once. When horses are being identified do the club have the mechanism to identify the owners. Like BCCI racing clubs have become very badly managed and crores of public money involved.

Probably in the last 15 years, it is the only govt, which did not talk about taking over of the race course . Call it coincidence or wrath of temple inside all of them lost in the next elections

Can any learned person enlighten us, what is the period of membership of govt nominees. If the govt changes can they change the nominee as well. In what way the additional members dilute the power of existing one and why they are opposing.

Elections are coming , the Congress needs money , this Real estate will fetch a lot of money , who cares for a few K people.
Why is the Mysore Race club not targeted , it is part of the same state in the same business

Why fight with government and land Mafia.its better to shift race course to outskirts.in any case punters will come anywhere.i could c many punters travelling to Bangalore everywhete from Chennai.

Govt and BTC are in same footing !!! BTC fears that each and every Govt will demand periodically the same. This will, after sometime place the Govt in Majority in the Club Committee/s and all sorts of problems and corruption will set in . The staff may start their demand of permanent stature. Eventually the Club will be shut .

I think it is possible. In chennai also few years back State Govt. was conducting the races by replacing MRC mnembers.

I am told that the Govt. is interested in the Race Course Land. In today's Real Estate Value the land will fetch billions to the Govt. Interested people like employees and Horse owners, Trainers should approach the Honb'ble High Court and find a solution soon. Otherwise irreparable damage will be done.
