Strange but true :

England Jockey has been suspended for one Racing day for throwing sand over his mount last week.

Jockey Raul Da Silva was riding Sandkissed at the Chelmsford, England l on Thursday last week when the filly proved difficult to load into the barriers Jockey Da Silva dismounted and when the filly still refused to load tossed a handful of the sand at her hindquarters then the filly proceeded to load and finished last of eight in the race.

However Stewards observed it as bad manners from the Jockey and suspended him for one Racing Day.Jockey told to the media that he was not aware that he should not do that and expressed his surprising feelings. Trainer Amy Murphy said she was also surprised by the decision. Stewards felt that ignorance can not be taken as an excuse.

In my personal opinion Stewards might have felt a Jockey should not disrespect an animal through which he earns his livelihood. Will it happen in India !
