Why Did Mysore Race Club Give Chennai Off Course

By Peter Roy | 23-Nov-2017
On Tuesday when Delhi and Chennai races were on MRC gave betting for Delhi. Yesterday when Kol and Chennai races were on MRC decided to give Chennai. Who takes these type of decisions. Was it racing at Chennai yesterday. Is the bookies having a say on what they want. IS MRC saying Chennai is more valuable than Kol. Many punters were shocked that MRC was giving Chennai yesterday as they was no news.

@ Peter Roy

The licence to conduct racing activity is for three months but the club has to give in advance the racing centre and dates in advance. Even the daily licence fees paid to the Government differs from centre to centre.
If there is any change from the programme submitted in advance then the club will have to apply fresh accordingly and obtain a fresh day licence.

It may sound absurd but unfortunately that's the procedure followed by the Govt. of Karnataka.

Are you saying MRC gets licnese everyday. They have got license for the whole season including off season. They can choose which centre they want to give. This sounds absurd.

Madras races on Wednesday was as per the original schedule and Mysore Race Club had obtained the licence from the Government accordingly. Kolkata races on Wednesday was the postponed card from last Saturday and as such the club cannot make changes in the licence issued by the Government to conduct off course betting.

Simple reason MRC can not conduct Racing when there is no intervenue betting because hardly any people will come for MRC Races.

So they cancel the program and modify as per business advantage.
