Some Thoughts.. Realities About Btc

By Dr.bashaar | 01-Dec-2017
Dear All,
Even though lot has been discussed about the issue, I really fail to understand several actions by the various concerned, which has resulted in the stalemate and not only bringing the sport to disrepute but allowing the best managed club ( in terms of tote income generation ) to collapse.

-the actions taken by the ex chairman and member of KRHOA were simply disgusting-- how much ever indifferences are there-itshould have been somehow burried ??? when it comes to question of racing as a whole none of them might have anticipated the issue to take an ugly turn like this. Do the concerned persons realize now, what damage they have caused to the sport and can they do anything positive to set right the damage?

-Chief Minister of a state whose main priority should be the concern of the suffering individuals ( BTC staff/Trainers/ Jockeys and other stable employees and even Book sellers ) and fairly adequate income generation for the state ( as well as for other turf clubs and states ).. sir, you dont seem to be concerned about these issues at all. Sir,where has all your intelligence gone ? Is this why people of Karnataka elected you and made you occupy this chair?.. Holding up the license of a club ( which is generating such an adequate income )for giving petty 50 membership for your nominees? How are you going to defend your decision sir? If this is not blackmailing the club, what else is this ? After holding the most responsible position of a state, can you play around a children game like this ?

- Next and most important - club members not even considering the request of the govt and altogether blankly refusing.. Members, I feel you have done a most disgusting thing compared to the other 2 whom I have quoted above ? Have you realized the consequences ? Do you think Govt is going to surrender in court so easily after being adamant for all these days ? ( Pls dont interpret that I am supporting the decision of CM ) Dont you think the govt has other weapons ( Like CID report And pending supreme court case ) which can still come to their rescue even if the high court verdict goes against them ? Cant the state govt take up the supreme court pending case and still see that BTC vacates the present premises ? ( Even though it is not easy, it is not impossible either ).. If this happens what is the future of BTC ( when it vacates the premises and come on the road ).. for you people your membership only was the issue and you were totally blind towards other issues ? If in the present scenario BTC comes to roads who is responsible for this ?.. no doubt all concerned parties.. no doubt.. But there was a solution available in your hands.. what is called COMPROMISE.. when from your side also quite a few weak points were there. ( The land not owned by BTC and racing not being run with adequate and strict supervision etc ) You have lost a golden chance - things which could have been easily sorted out with your consent, you have allowed it to reach a point of no return. OK according to you and many others, Govt is eyeing on the land.. which is not right according to you. But if the govt's vision is on that ( Mind it the land belongs to them ) you cant decide whether what they are doing is right or wrong. The best would have been a bargain to ask for an alternate land - and build a race course ( when opportunity was given and you had adequate funds too, you didnt utilize this).. sad. It is really sad that you also have taken a rigid ( Most rigid ) stand and allowed BTC to collapse and literally allowing it to come on the roads which looks quite inevitable now. ( I only pray that I am proved wrong in my presumption ).

We are only able to watch the proceedings and hope for the best to happen without being able to do anything positive to tide over the crisis. Hope some miracle happens and BTC is able to get back to number 1 position as in the past.

Let him touch Cricket Association of Karnataka. They have much better facilities and far richer club. This one as stated by one is an egoistic trip.

This single most out of dynasty is ruling Karnataka as his fiefdom. Racing is entertainmentent and not gambling as declared by SC. What he has done has simply destroyed king of sports. This man will be remembered for autotocratic ways of his high command. He wants elections everywhere as his masters uncontested. He has killed BTC. My sympathies are with BTC that they have got a standoff with establishment. Someone is to be blamed in BTC that they could not handle this Govt more appropriately. Their only future is change of order .

I firmly believe that this is the result of the ensuing elections and the real estate involved , next is RWITC.
There will be no consideration for anything else , I hope I am wrong, however the issues being presented by both sides do not even mildly suggest an impasse of this kind, there is something else more important than 50 new members or a single doping instance ( we have seen more atrocities ) to bring about this kind of reaction.

Without Government support nothing can be turn out.in this case BTC members should accept govt request.later stage they can modify rules regulations according to members wish.but now main point is shd retain course and starting races at the earliest.

What a mature write up sir but sadly the ist reply smacks of the nadir of shallow thoughts.

You have spared none rightly If by cursing some one elections are won and lost,we would have a very different country.

WE ARE NOW STUCK IN COURTS,Have to wait for their decision

TRS sir:

It is not the just 50 Members issue. If you oblige yto the Govt tomorrow every now and then you will have to dance before them. Tomorrow they even say to the Club you just makes this Horse win the Trophy !!! Then what you have to do ? It is better that the Govt,s attitude should be nipped in the bud level.
This is what worries most of the existing members and stewards. As lomng as they are are gettin the taxes ibn time they should be happy. At the most they can appoint a Govt officer for supervision. Why they want 50 People to be inducted ??

Why they want to put tyheir hands in the Administration of the Club ? That is what puzzles evey one in the club.

In all their foolishness BTC members have taken only one right decision by refusing to give 50 membership to Government as a bribe. Why should they do so and on what ground government can force them? Cid report on a so called horse being tested positive??? Every season every sport faces many such cases weather it's cricket football or baseball? Should every sport should be shut down? It's the most disgusting thing which government has done. We all know what happens to government funds how they utilities education and other funds for their personal gain. Even if 50 membership given to Government, after election next govt will ask for 100 membership otherwise it won't renew the licence. It won't have an end. If BTC has to die, let it die fighting way, let it die with racing spirit, putting everything on ground to win. That's what racing stands for not for bowing down to some baseless demands. If BTC somehow can arrange some media coverage and show to public how openly their cm is asking a club for bribe and blackmailing them, CM will step back for sure the thing which has come to his rescue is, we have very slow law and order system. He ain't gona loose anything if verdict comes out after two years but many who are connected to BTC will loose everything. On legal ground it's an open and shut case, but things don't work that way in India and CM is taking full advantage of that . Every city has a race course and so far all of them are on land only. Will taking away land from BTC solve all the problem of Bangalore city?? Neither BTC members did justice to their job nor the CM. Still if I have to picK a side this time I will support BTC.

@ Dr. Bashaar,

Thank you,Sir. You have rightly summarized the anger and agony of all concerned in your heart felt post. The people in power always tend to work for their own selfish interests, unmindful of the disastrous consequences to the real stakeholders. The Racing Industry was never their baby, and what was never theirs, they have no love lost for it. It is sad that we have to depend on their generosity for the survival of an institution that must have been created and nurtured by people with a passion and love for horses and horse racing.

Heard two employees of BTC and a few thousands are jobless. As someone said lives and livelihood do not matter. Should not they be held responsible for such tragic consequences ? The tragedy is..the same people will continue in a new Avtaar as and when such a situation arise ! May be we deserve what we get !

Regards.

Rightly pointed out. All the previous govt wanted to acquire BTC land. Here the negotiators have made the possible to impossible. Ultimately a negotiated settlement is the only way out. Why politicians needed the membership of BTC & why do original members oppose the addition of 25 new members, which in no way would have altered their power. Questions remain unanswered, though it helped nobody's cause.

We people have formed a Race Club on a land leased by the Government/Corporation, with set rules and constitution how to run the Club, whom to give membership etc. etc. The land is given to the club to run live races and race betting only. The members of the Club and their elected committee are responsible for the upkeep and management of the club.
PUNTERS ARE NO STAKE HOLDERS. Punters are making so many hues and cries because these addicted gamblers have no other job than criticizing the Club and its owners. They think they have lost their job, lost their daily bread and butter, hence all the tamasha here.

@ This is for some other Horse Talkers!

No court will give "Tareeq pe Tareeq pe Tareeq" if both parties attend the Court on the hearing dates. Even if one party wants to delay the hearings by not attending, they cant skip the proceedings continuously for more than three times. If the do so, the Court can finalize the Case ex-parte (in favour of the complainant in this case BTC). So stop from making frivolous comments.

It is a fact all Courts in India have several cases pending. Important cases like this, which affects the life of so many people can be heard in priority. However all cases are brought to a hearing are prioritized in accordance with the interests of justice. Remember, if 100 cases are listed for the day, not more than 20 parties turn up. So do not lose hope. Definitely December 4 is important day for BTC.

let the high headed people fight with themselves.

But feel really sorry for those who lost their jobs.

As far as we punters are concerned, only friday off is there.

Saturday, we have Kolkata.

If perchance, BTC were to wind up its operations for good; a million curses would befall the stubborn and egoistical CM.

He and his party will not only be ousted in the coming elections but be socially boycotted too, by the masses.
