Pune winners have never done well in MUM in graded races.

Ruffina will run the 1000 only with D Allan and win it. Second will be Manifold who will finish ahead of LIL whichever position they run. Then the Ruia, Oaks and Derby. The Bank of England says RUFFINA on Saturday. Good luck.

Dear All,
It's a three way contest between MANIFOLD, RUFFINA & LIL. So let's not jump to win of RUFFINA so much in advance. MANIFOLD has better timing than RUFFINA in first run at Mumbai & also has first track after the untimely rains disrupting the preparations. RUFFINA & LIL have yet to get final track work for 1000G unless done in private track.
MANIFOLD lost to LIL when ridden to ground & the master trainer will not make the same mistake(?) again. Both MANIFOLD & LIL have traversed distances of 1600Ms. & beyond which RUFFINA has to yet achieve.
So, hold your horses till final track work is out & the jockeys declared.

If Ruffina runs on Saturday and Sunday in 1000G and 2000G and wins,it will be a new Record.Other horses like Strength To Strength have won on two days,but not in 1000G and 2000G,and not as 3 years old,but as 4 years and 5 years old.
I think Ruffina will be entered in both the races,because the owners are well aware,she can win both the races,hence they will not let go this rare of the
rarest opportunity to get this record.
In 1000G Ruffina has to beat only Lady In Lace,and Ruffina does seem the better of two.In 2000G in the absence of Prevalent Force,none of the Colts or Gelding can give a very serious challenge to her.Therefore,the connections will surely try to make a new World Record(may be) and history.

I think let Ruffina first win the 1000 guineas convincingly, then we can talk about the 2000 guineas.
She has never competed against a horse like lady in lace.
She will find it very difficult to come within 1 length of the lady.
I guess time will tell ...

Jockey Chris L"Maire was on fire during invitation weekend,he won strengthtostrength on consecutive days and his tally was 7 wins out of his 8 mounts with very good dividends.I had a great weekend,thanks to the jockey.

Quite a few other horses have done so on Invitation weekends. Strength To Strength won both Sprinters cup & Super Mile back to back days.

On 10 Dec only 3 horses were exercised. this raises many questions on 3 days of racing.and track conditions
D Allen will be riding Ruffina and not sandesh .Let us not have over hype on any horse.I do not think the connections will run her on both days ,should run only in 1000 Gns.
It was a horse owned by Maj Hp singh which won on both days there was a foriegn jockey riding it in BNG invitation weekend.A long name

7 Oct 1981 (Mys) Won Tippu Sultan Cup, 2000 m.

There are many instances of horses winning on two consecutive days. Most famous are:

There is rumour that Indian 2000 Guineas may be postponed to 24 Dec. If that happens, Ruffina may run in both races provided she comes out well from the Indian 1000 Guineas. If the two Guineas are run on consecutive days, Ruffina is unlikely to take on the colts.

Actually no. A horse named Burgundy ran in 1600 and next day 1200 many many years back at Bangalore . It won both. If my search is correct.
