Another thing i noticed was ..Yanna Rascala scratched off its run in PD Bolton trophy on sunday(31st Dec ) to win yesterday as Ace trainer felt only MAM horse to beat was more easy than on sunday with Execellent gold & Summer Rays ..
Morning ODDS were 2.75-3 plus and Pesi must be laughing seeing the cashable LOLLIES ...Actually the indian bookies have spoilt the thinking of many trainers

Racing is all about adjustments & Foresight ...Maybe the owners are themselves ducking ON money horses in MKJ'S stable to cover back horses purchase & incurring exps
Considering the purchase price of GOSHawak -thursday run ..quite a bit of MULLAH should have been recovered by the owners ..odds jumped to 45p from 20-22p morning ..

I am going to bring out in these few lines the secret of hooking a horse so as it does not win a race. I sincerely hope that these few lines are published here in as I strongly feel it is the duty of all of us senior Race lovers to also educate our junior fellow Race Lovers.

The secret gentlemen lies in the preparation of the runners for the Race and the crux of the problem lies in our judging correctly this aspect of all the runners. If the trainer has not been able to fully prepare his ward or has NOT prepared his ward for the event, the horse will not be able to win and the Jockey also will not be able to make much difference in the out come. We the Race goers can keep on blaming any one and every one, but the fact is that we also did not make the accurate assessment of the runners and their preparation. Please note that lack of preparation is one of the most effective methods of not winning a race. I hope I have made myself quite clear about this extremely essential aspect of Horse Racing.

It is amazing that top owners are still carrying on with him.

4.50 #2 LORD OF THE SEA is resuming after being gelded, he was being tried over longer last preparation in Pune and now drops in trip. He could race well fresh with blinkers on, his recent trials are good and is the one to beat.

5.15 Half bred to Tororosso #2 HOPE AND GLORY has looked sharp in barrier trials ahead of his debut. The one to beat.

5.45 #4 CARNIVAL hasn't quite seen out the longer trip in last couple of starts before the spell. Gets his chance back to the mile.

6.15 #2 YANNA RASCALA only clear late when placed 2nd resuming despite being twice interfered. Fitter here and the extra distance suits.

6.45 #2 OUTSTANDING drops in grade, was good fourth last time and blinkers on can help extract further improvement. Can go well over an extra furlong.

7.15 #1 THE CIVILIAN will strip fitter second-up from spell and merits strong consideration for his eye-catching 2nd to Excellent Gold in Pune before the spell. Can strike now running among his age group.
Would not leave #2 HIDDEN SOUL out of chances with a nice lung opener under her belly. Don’t ignore.

7.45 #1 CHAPLIN put in a good first up run on debut but then was ordinary at next start resuming. Strips fitter and with natural improvement he will give this a shake.

4 – Gloriosus – won at same distance with same jockey in lower class, can repeat in this class too
5 – Firenze – won at same distance earlier, jockey always tries 100% for this stable, upset chance

My choice: (5) Firenze at these weights might get it from (2) Lord of the Sea

2nd Race
(5) Fan Fare who is tracking well might get it from (2) Hope and Glory

3rd Race
1 – King of Killen – same class and distance winner, can defy the penalty for another win
4 – Carnival – 2nd in last run, can upset now with this jockey
5 – Reds Revenge – at best may place

7 – Saw Grass – tracking well and coming to sprint after so many runs at bit longer distance, upset

Racing under the lights can throw up surprising results sometimes. En guarde....

In the lacklustre card, two horses look like clear winners. Bateleur in 4th race and Goshawk in 7th race.

Bateleur is going in for his pre-classic prep race. Do not bother trying to find value bet in Yanna Rascala placing etc - that could turn out to be an iffy bet. Just go and back Bateleur. Between 40p and 60p, the risk-reward ratio is good.

Cant really bet on Goshawk, as the odds would be cramped.

Amongst the others, place bets can be considered on....

3-4 Carnival
5-1 Ame
6-4 An Jolie
6-11 Locarno
