I fully agree with you. What is the use of having racing in 2 centers on sunday and no racing on saturday? I feel it is only a question of ego that all racing clubs are having and no center (other than Delhi ) is willing for any compromises/ adjustments. OK agreed - when racing calender was decided long back- this saturday slot was kept for B'lore winter- fine. But when it was known more than a week back itself, couldnt have Hyderabad readjusted its schedule ? ( Its simple ego thats all- I will not change my date - let the other club change its date ( if they want ) - is the attitude). Few days back similar situation - double center racing on sunday and no Hyderabad races on Monday!!!
I fail to understand the attitude of the various clubs- racing days are basically fixed in a such a way as to avoid clashing of dates ( to generate maximum possible income for the clubs ) and thereby help addicts like us to avoid taking casual leave.( Mr.Raghavan, there is no casual leave in racing-- we are allowed to take only sick leaves..if our pockets become sick!!! ).
If double center racing takes place, its a big disadvantage for punters as well. Even if races are conducted as per schedule hardly 10 mts will be allowed between 2 races. ( By the time horses are stalled, race finishes -- if there is no photo finish or likely objection - it will take at least 5 mts from the scheduled race time ). Neither the Bookmakers will have sufficient time to conduct their business, nor the punters will have enough time to go through the card ( Majority of the punters wouldnt have come with any predetermination ). Quite a number of times everything will happen in a hurry. Many punters in order to avoid this situation will concentrate on only 1 center betting- which means the 2nd centers income wouldnt reach that club ( if the punter decides to avoid bet of any 1 center ). Centers like Hyderabad- sorry to say -particularly races like 1st leg of the jackpot pool- are never held in time!! So if 1 race gets delayed all other races ( of both the clubs ) will get affected... and if there is an objection in any of the races...????
With all these messes,it is really surprising that none of the clubs are willing to compromise and readjust their schedule. For that matter I am 100% sure, if Hyderabad races were to have been held on saturday ( instead of sunday )- on a free day like this -the income generation would have been much more. But who cares... why should they care ? Hyderabad on other days can conduct racing on Mondays... but they dont want sunday card to be preponed to saturday on a free day like this ?
Long back ( cant remember how many years back ) if racing is there in 2 centers, one of the centers used to conduct their races in the morning ( say 11 to 2 ) and the other center would start at 2.30. If such an adjustment is required, even RWITC used to conduct its programme in the morning. ( The infamous Knight and Day incidence is still fresh in my mind - racing was held in the morning on that day in Bombay ).

I think the problem with us is we have become so addicted to racing. We want racing to be held everyday. Post GST our losses have increased but still we want racing.

HRC has increased it commission % after GST, increased entrance ticket from 10 rupees to 30 rupees. Main reason for this burden on punters is because it has shifted Ranigunj OTC to Lower tank bund were it has to pay three times more rent what it was paying for Ranigunj OTC all the punters of Hyderabad Race Club are made to suffer because of this decision of shifting. And for punters and ticket punching operators coming and going to this tote has become a costly affair because their is no proper bus facility auto are charging more.

After the rise in GST and Club commission it is impossible to win in racing.

Double racing on Sunday and no racing on Saturday. So enjoy one day Casual Leave.

Postponement of races could be done on the day of racing itself. But, advancing of the races require at least 3 clear day's notice. Friday is too late for getting Sunday races advanced to Saturday. Even if the HRC management is willing.

But HRC management will not advance/postpone Sunday races even if on that day there are triple races.

mumbai races should be preponed to saturday as majority of the people lost interest in mumbai racing

That will be ideal for all race going people who will be idle on saturday

I fully agree with your views. Instead of crowding on Sunday. Hyderabad races could have been preponed to Saturday until races at BNG are started.
