The Enthusiasm was high as BTC opened after a brief period of 4 months and the excitement was very much high to attend the races as most of the punters would have just to get the sight of running of Horses..

Due to unavailability of bookies in BTC , was forced to play in totes..But the meagre payouts make it very difficult for punters.

Few things if one can notice ,

1. After finalising 2-3 horses ( vary from person to person ) when you look up the board, one will always hope that the odds offered on our choices would be at better odds.

2. As tote odds vary every 30 seconds , one can't guess at what time the odds ascend or the descend , as latter happens most of the times.

3. By seeing the odds varying much considering the less odds offered , the mind starts to trick you as one tends to go for the highest offer offered horse which obviously will be the least of the 2-3 horses selected earlier

As a result , the chances of winning decreases..

Even if one manages to win couple of races , I'm sure one can't take home any winnings as sustaining the whole day will be the ultimate goal for small time punters.

I know many might argue to go for FC , QNL , TRNL , EXACTA..but the luck factor matters most in these cases..

I personally feel that Bookies should be brought back to BTC as they offer better odds and payout would be better compared with tote..
One can enjoy racing without worrying about drift in odds as the odds while one playing will be the final irrespective of the drift in the odds..
