It seems that Chennai racing is slowly (I repeat 'slowly) picking up with the participation of outstation owners and a good number of talented jockeys like V R Jagadeesh and Saddam Hussein.

If you see the handicap for Jan.14 Derby day, it looks like it's goign to be a big mela for the Gr.1 race.

Amidst all these fantastic developments, I don't get to find a smart lady rider N. Rupa, who incidentally is also the sister of now Hyderabad-based trainer N Ravinder Singh. Has she given up racing like the only other Indian lady jockey Silvester Storai, who happened to join the stables of I Ghatala in Bangaluru.

Can anyone throw some light?
