Indian Champion Cup Grade 1

By Azim | 23-Jan-2018
Today there is an Indian champion cup in kolkatta which is the main event in today's kolkatta races...12runners are running in this race ...all horses are champion horses whoever wins this race but racing will be surely win bcoz of this champion field...to pick the winner in such kind of big field is also a very tough job ...
Alaindair running after a long lay off last run was good when he won by whisker in pune in 1600m age doesnt favour him year azzuro recent run is very impressive but he has develop a new disease of slowly out..colombiana having a late clasy dash ...I m shortlisting three horses here that is whomakestherules, azzruro and tororosso.
WMTHR having a pedigree to stay he always jumps good ran 3rd to mathyusis and 2nd to temerity recently in mumbai on that champion jockey suraj on it increasing his chances..
AZZURO if he took a level jump the partenrnership with Trevor of this horse is amazing he never board out when Trevor on up ..he ran 3rd to temerity in invetetion cup in a younger field recently he in mysore ran 2nd to salazar after slowly off...
TOROROSSO having a pedigree and ageing his side last run was good 2nd to mathyusis but disqualified..Banglore derby run was awesome. zervan will be there to guide this champion horse and zervan always rides good in long distance races..
Colombiana is dark horse here neeraj up big event jockey havemail beaten alaindair and azzuro.azzuro has beaten tororosso in invetetion cup..so race is wide open may the best horse win...still my choice will be
TOROROSSO
WHOMAKESTHERULES
AZZURO
Ur views guys...

Mr.Sandy correctly mentioned abt Allainder chances.infact highest rated 125 is none other then Allainder in the field.second highest rating is Columbians both came first and second. In the highest class Age s not a factor.Allainder s superior than others in this set.but if u consider for another extended furlong it wud be doubtful.

@ Godzilla

My understanding of the race is just opposite.
If a horse takes a slow start in a Mock Race (No horse will lose an even break in a practice session. If Usain Bolt cannot take a level break in a practice match, what we can expect from him in a real race?) that horse has some problem. Then I was just asking a question to Azim (He is much much superior and clever in Horse Talk) with the aim of learning from him.... a slow start is really a disease ?

Mad Max

In a Mock Race, when a horse is slowly off, it is intentional,to gauge the power of the horse by beating the front runners, leaving lengths behind at the start. As such your comparing Mock Race with real Race is absurd.

Exactly this day 23 Jan year back, same distance, Colombiana made a record time.

My choice is azzoro.

Alaindar and Azzuro are as old as I am.

Tororosso .. once in a blue moon winner

WHOMAKESTHERULES with power house rider Suraj, therefore, appeals.

My way of thinking

Alandair - running at this course for the first time, ignore
Azzuro - unlucky so far at Kolkata
Cadman - local contender with upsetting chance if any
Columbiana - last year winner, may skip this time
Germanicus - owner/trainer changed, hence difficult
Jack Frost - staying prowess doubtful
Rewalding - beaten by many in this bunch already
Setaflame - beaten by many in this bunch
Shivalik Showers - staying prowess doubtful, but jockey is a trier
Tororosso - one film wonder
Who makes the rules - yet to lose in this ground with this jockey, top contender for this race
Winter Renaissance - jockey unable to win a class 5 race at this centre so far

I feel "WHO MAKES THE RULES" will lift this barring any incidents

Regards

Santhosh

On Genuine Attempt, ALAINDAIR should handle all easily.

Proof: Race No 119 (The President Of India Gold Cup (Gr.1))

It is not easy in graded race for A horse to win after such a long lay off that too with a jockey like Zervarn.

WMTR came a good second to temerity is the form horse with the class. Do not go by BNG summer runs it was running after a setback.
So for me a very clear winner in WMTR.

@ Azim

You said 'slowly out' from the gate is a disease...? (.....Alaindair running after a long lay off last run was good when he won by whisker in pune in 1600m age doesn't favour him year azzuro recent run is very impressive but he has develop a new disease of slowly out).

In the Mock Race other day, Lady in Lace was also slowly out. Is it means LIL has been caught up with the same disease?
