As we now count down to Invitation races, time to debate re who are the prime contenders.
First, the easiest one - Sprinters Cup. It looks to be Ruffina will run everyone else off their feet. For runners-up, one can look at Siobhan and Multitude.
Invitation Cup: There are simply no outstanding 4-year olds. From this year's classic crop, the only ones I can think of are Lady In Lace, Rochester and Star Carnation. From the older lot, Temerity would have been the default choice, but it blotted it's record on Saturday. Still, Temerity and Mathaiyus are the leading contenders amongst 5-year olds.
Stayers Cup: The way it was bounding towards the end in today's Derby, Star Carnation over the longer trip may do the trick. Did someone mention Excellent Art? Sana may also go well over the staying trip.
Wouldn't it be ironic if Sprinters Cup and Stayers Cup are both won by the same sire's progeny! Has it happened before?

Sorry to have missed your question earlier.
Progeny of Malvado, Razeen and Placerville have won Sprinters' Cup as well as Stayers's Cup. Malvado (Recardo and Calibre) and Placerville (Spectacular Quest and Forever Elegance) did it in same year. Razeen (Shamaal and Son of Silver did it in different years.

Castlebridge Iz Not On Track After HIz Defeat In R R G C. So We Don't Know Much About Hiz Condition.
Captain Morgan Or Salazaar, One Of Them Will Run And will Win The Stayers Cup.
Invitation Cup. If Mathaiyus Iz On Repair List, Temerity Will Win. If Alaindar Will Run Any Race Except The 4 Big Once, Extremely Good Chance Of Winning. Place 100 %.

Ruffina runs only the sprinters and WILL win.
Mathayus has broken down and it will be a miracle if he runs. The invitation all have to beat Terminity. Forget her run on Saturday Neeraj was made a fool of with his over confidence.
The new lot of Rochester LIL etc with at best finish in 4,5 position. The older lot will be right there.
Stayers will be the old boy from the mall ya yard Azzuro.
Sana is good enough for cal regular races she’s not this class.

Ruffina is too good for Sprinters and SURESH Mahendra cup (1400 mtrs) next day. It will be beaten in Super mile by Castle Bridge another Sarjaent At Arms up to a mile. Even if it is not running it can't beat Whatsmyscript. Mathayus may not get Invitation nominated because it has not run since September. But we have seen reserves getting in when nominated horses are not entered.So such things can be created. If Kangra gets his foot problem set right it is going to be mouth watering 3 fillys Invitation: Temerity, Kangra and Lady In Lace. The colts/geldings should
fight for 4th place.
